Would love to see more nature material rings, wood, steel, stones. I know they are more time consuming, but make great videos and educational as well (explaining difficulties you had and how you overcame them). Some Acid etching is nice too! Love the content ! :)
I do nails and use UV/LED gel all the time. You could use a nail art brush to apply the UV gel to your rings with a lot more accuracy and less mess on the lip of the inlay section on the ring. You could also mix the powder with a small amount of the gel and apply it that way, you also could have created a really cool marble effect using this method as well. When I make jewelry I end up using techniques I use for doing nails quite a bit. Just thought you would like the input, love the ring!!!
Patrick, I know this is an older video, and I'm by no means someone to tell you how do make your rings, as you're the pro, but I wanted to give just a little bit of constructive feedback. Take it with a grain of salt. After you cut the inlay and started to put in the diamonds, maybe a sanding and polishing step on the inlay to bring it to a polish. It'll make the final result pop a lot more. I've found this in turning acrylics and doing inlays. Even when you're laying down a resin into those scratches you made with the cutting tool, the UV resin and the two part has a different refractive index, so you'll still be able to see the scratches if you look closely.
This is a really good idea for rich men's wedding rings instead of the plain and boring wedding bands made as though men can't appreciate a jewelry's beauty!
Looks good! Speaking of UV light: Did you add some UV protection additive to your resin? Tried so many resins, they all turn yellow sooner or later. Specially the epoxies.

@@thantaung1918 as some one who is not in the market for a high end ring, it seems like a lot, but look around at other rings, people pay thousands for rings that look pretty sad.
I think the ring would look better if the base of the ring was jet black or sapphire blue to show off the diamonds. Can you add a black or blue dye at the 2 minute mark? Use the same clear acrylic that you used at the 9 minute mark to hold the diamonds because otherwise you won't see the diamonds against the dark background.
Honestly, this seemed like it needed more effort. Seeing how good it turned out,it could've been awesome if you just went the extra mile to make this a more serious ring
I think this was more "let's see if I can do this". Now that he knows that he can and how exactly to do it, he can add more or less of whatever element one wishes to see more.
in your smoothing.. sanding is good.. but.. buff feather wheel compound is really a finisher.. your lathe needs adjustment... you have a distinct bend in the shaft, maybe the chucks seating is off? its giving you that wobble. Very Nice artwork.

All of your rings are real pretty, I've an idea, just because I wonder what it would look like, my favorite stones for example, White or black opal with emerald, or diamond and emerald or Amythest and diamond, all with your glow powders
Patrick, an interesting idea...it may have to be a slightly different width...but if you did this idea, but in layered bands of colored gemstones and the matching translucent glow powders for bifrost version of this ring, like the bifrost Bridge from Thor, just an interesting twist to this idea.
Great idea...but I think you killed the diamonds submerging them in the resin. Wish I could see it in person☹ I'm obsessed with keeping gemstones clean & sparkly-- If I have jewelry with a stone set on top of metal...I will drill a hole behind it to let in light. Makes a huge difference👍🏻!

The refraction index of the diamond is completely destroyed by embedding it into epoxy though. They've completely lost their glitter.

Some diamonds glow bright blue in uv light, called florescence. You should use those
