- Hey guys! Loi here. Today I’m at OffSIte Climbing with Antoine Caron. We do some training on the Beastmaker 2000 and then set some boulders on the Tension Board 2 for each other. Let me know if you have any questions down in the comments!

You guys are strong. I think holding BM middle edge one arm is much harder than V6. I’ve climbed many V6s outside and never had to do a move as hard as one arm hanging that edge 😂 my vote is hanging BM edge on one arm is at least V9 or V10 (have climbed several V10s outside and I can’t hang the BM edge one arm for reference, but my fingers are kind of weak).
I've also heard it as generally v10, its just a hang so hard to grade but def harder than v6 lmao
The grading is super conditional on how you define grades. We meant that as a single move, just hanging would be about V6 (so climbing an entire V6 would equal hanging one armed with control) it would just be that this is « hangboard style ». We’re not equally strong in every style. At this point we’re really deep in Boulder math though aha.
Ex the kilter Boulder beastmaker middle edge is V12 and breaks down to a first move V10 followed by a 2 move V10. In the first move just hanging the edge (very similar to beastmaker middle) would be about V6 but jumping to it and controlling it is around V10. And V10 + V10 = V12. That’s my logic at least 😂.
@@loiduongjr I agree every climbing medium has its own scale (indoor, outdoor, various boards, even individual spray walls) and that’s cool. Maybe there should be a Hangboard benchmark scale. For example, hanging the BM1000 jugs is VB or V0, hanging the big edges is V1, etc. would be cool to have hangboard benchmarks.

@@loiduongjrLattice did a response video to Emil’s highlighting just how sandbagged his grades for strength were lol. If you’re saying “hangboard style” as if it should have a totally different grading system to normal climbing, that’s fine, but since 99% of v6 climbers can’t hang BM2k middle edge, it doesn’t make sense to give it a traditional v6 lol.

is there a mirrored set in your gym circuit? I set a V9ish thing at 40 that revolves around the sharktooth undercling you might enjoy. There's also a 'V9' on the spray called tommyknockers that is IMO bonkers sandbagged.
Unfortunately we just have the 8x12 spray. I’ll try Tommyknockers though looks really fun.
