It’s a crazy juxtaposition to the rest of the show especially after this point, where there is little comical or funny about their situation besides some Goldman one-liners which are dark in their own right. It is needed for balance and also for the editors to flex a little and have some fun, because shortly after this point in time in the series, all the characters just get absolutely fucked five ways to Friday.

  • @bobo-is2vz

I think a lot of people misunderstand why this scene is so great, it shows how detached Walt is from the real hurt his crimes cost. Before he viewed it as strictly necessary to help his family, now he is buying his son pointless frivolities purely to hurt Skyler in the eyes of his son, something so awful because Walt is someone who put’s his family in needless danger to satisfy his own colossal ego, While Skyler genuinely loves and tries to look after Flynn and is completely hated as a result and is depressed because of this.
Only Breaking Bad could have a scene where a character buy their son a car to show how much of a irredeemable monster they have become.

      Typos for you fool: you're** three=free (u mean)??** ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It's a pure thriller/western..make-believe series. An all time great one, for sure, did you just come here to read comments under this scene in it...to criticize like an idiot and compare your life experience to it...(seems like it..fool)??? Oh, wow, ''we had to work for things...'' who on Earth else is there with you or agreeing with you for you to say ''we''? Oh, and i don't really care about your life as it's irrelevant to this scene as no one has your uptight, one-sided view...and especially after the fact that you followed it up with insults that are ..completely...UNTRUE. Plus, considering you are bringing it to this great, thriller series scene (where W.W WORKS TOO as a meth cook...but..starts to do it to help his goddamn family in terms of $$$ and secure their futures financially).... and that has more likes than dislikes...everyone really liked these sort of scenes in BB...even though, fair enough, it's not even realistic(in terms of $$$ earnings after selling meth and his old sedan for a cut price; perhaps if Walter White was real in the real world.. then his intelligence and such would get these sort of earnings). Anyway, you're whole argument makes you.. yes..YOU, look like an idiotic ''dick'' if anything (also the fact..you choose to spam a 3 month old comment makes you look like a complete...troll fool...not a brainiac with a great point, at the end of the day). Do yourself a favour, now, and go learn how to interpret a great scene like this intelligently AND use correct words..and stop getting mad..and drawing attention to your rubbish comment. Case-closed, really, foolish kid.

Sure there could be a deep meaning behind this scene, about how walt is buying his son gifts to distract from the pain he causes skylar, or it could be a throw away cool car scene, but many people don't understand that more the anything this is an advertisement for mopar vehicles😂 even the pt cruiser. And they simultaneously shit on GM by selling the aztek for $50😂😂😂

Some wannbe critics are trying overanalyze the scene etc... Breaking Bad's brilliance lies in complex characters, morally gray choices, and profound human transformation in a world where we all live with quiet desperation. Walt's car gift to his son showcases his monstrous ego, a necessity in the world he is a part of. The show's genius is portraying irredeemable actions while humanizing characters with vulnerability to live in this world of despair with a few moments of joy. Enjoy the rave music and enjoy the scene for what it is....just like most of us do.

Except for Walter’s Aztec and Marie’s Beetle, the Whites and Schraders are loyal to Mopar. Hank got a Commander and a Durango, Jr got two Challengers and a PT Cruiser, Walter a 300 and Skyler an old Wagoneer.
