Rudyard Lynch: This Is How a Second Civil War Will Start

  • Rudyard Lynch, host of “WhatIfAltHist” on RUclips, explains why he believes that the United States is on the verge of a second civil war. Drawing on economic and social patterns from history, Rudyard highlights key factors that have created a perfect storm of potential triggers for unrest in America. While many envision a civil war as chaotic and all-encompassing-and therefore dismiss the possibility as too far-fetched-he paints a subtler picture of what this conflict would look like, with everyday life continuing amid a fraying social fabric.

      Shot in the dark here.
Rudyard is around my kids' age. I'm genuinely concerned about him. Recently, like today, I learned that he experienced some sort of "thing" last month, and as far as I can tell has kind of fallen off the radar. I sincerely hope he has someone in his life supporting him.
He's done the rounds with various podcasters, and yours was one of the more recent ones I watched. I'm a nobody and don't know him, but you are someone with some grey hair, sorry wisdom who has at least talked to him recently. Perhaps you could contact him and see if he's okay, if he needs help, maybe give him some advice and encouragement to get it. --like I said, its a shot in the dark.

National consensus was being fought over in the 1960s. But after all that time has the narative so separated from reality those pushing the narative have finally lost credibility? Do I now believe these two more than I did Walter Cronkite? (TBH I did not believe him all that much anyway) The USA is very different in that most of it's wars have not been fought anywhere near it so have been rather separate affairs, other than the random family member killed or wounded.

It's always of interest hear Rudyard's observations, the cost of living during the great Depression was in fact quite low, having said that, there was no currency/money regardless of the low cost. The depression inflicted extreme degradation into the lives of millions of people not only in America but around the northern hemisphere. living is but 1 problem, and not the biggest. The Catcher In The Rye describes a situation where youth has no idea where to find MEANING in their lives, and it’s gotten worse with recent generations. That’s why we see them bandwagoning on any case, despite the nonsense of it. when you have a bunch of youth with no meaning, then you have a powder keg ready to explode, even if only for a purpose and change from meaninglessness. They blame society, and rightfully so.

I was struck by the guest's use of the phrase "...I've studied..." He did so to lend credibility to his position. HOWEVER, I found his analysis interesting, but incredibly flawed. His analysis relied on pattern analysis based on selection of key indicators. This type of analysis relies on the congruency of key indicators from situation to situation. This is a shallow analysis because it does not examine core/root causes of conflict, but sometimes key indicators is all you have, the rest of the root causal data is lost to history because historians failed to understand its significance. I research brain architecture and the biological, evolutionary, and structure of emotions. This DNA programming resides in all humans and operates the same regardless of language or society and controls all human behavior. This guest's analysis failed to relate to the necessary excitement of neurological pathways needed for conflict to occur. There are two similar neurological pathways that produce "conflict" but have two distinct manifestations. Both pathways concern competition for scarce resources. One is an intra-tribal competition and the other is an extra-tribal competition. Liberals favor collectivism; conservatives favor individual action; both are problem-solving algorithms embedded in our species' DNA. Societal rules - laws, regulations, societal norms, etc.- apply to those with whom we compete within our tribe. Societal norms, laws, rules, etc., do not apply to competition with other tribes. They're not of our tribe, therefore they do not get the benefit of our tribal rules. For example, a track meet between schools - a competition within a tribe - does not allow the stabbing of the person in the next lane as a way of competitive advantage. Stabbing tribal members is contra to tribal laws and norms. However, this would be permissible, and even desirable if you were at war with the other tribe. Point is, Liberals define their tribe as anyone who is a Democrat. Republicans define their tribe as anyone who is an American, which includes liberals. So there are two divergent means of completion occurring here. This is why liberals use violence in the form of words in what they call Republicans -'Trump is Hitler'. Republicans compete but use societal norms in their treatment of Liberals. This is why historically violence always originates with liberalism - because it narrowly defines their collective, who is tribal and who is not tribal; and why conservatives will go to great lengths to point out extra-tribal competitions to justify violence and war This is why Trump had two assassination attempts - because he was a "...threat to our democracy..." a veiled reference to liberals version of democracy, and was external the liberal's tribe; and why Republicans go to war for oil, a competition for a scarce resource with another tribe. This guest's analysis would benefit from the inclusion of this published science in his analysis. Maybe then, he could produce a more causal model from his studies rather than pattern analysis which tends to be far less accurate.

    • @qs6706

This was informative. Thank you. Though when I think of civil war it's based on the premise of class divide. When it becomes so unaffordable to live the working poor lash out against the resource privelaged. I'd like your thoughts on a, French revolution esque, civil war scenario.

    • @scottsyverson4260
      @scottsyverson4260 3 месяца назад

@@qs6706 Your points reside within the model I explain. Competition for scare resources, in your scenario, is food. People can redefine their tribes - it can be a fluid process. In order to kill for food, all one has to do is say, me, I myself tribe, is more important than you, and I can use any means to take what you want. Now to be sure, there can be other neural circuits and cognitive algorithms involved in conflicts, but human behavior is highly predictable (under my current model is 100% accurate across 98% of the human population) in how humans will generate all human behaviors. Please note I said how they will process and produce human behavior, not what they will do. The example I like to use is tax software like TurboTax. Tax laws and form, and their accompany calculations are the same in every copy of TurboTax, yet nobody gets the same tax return. Why? Because even though they all use the same software, the inputs into that software are all unique and thus produce individualized tax return outcomes. I model the DNA encode software of biological brains which is entirely controlled by emotions. So civil wars occur when different tribes/factions arise and compete with other tribes/factions for scarce resources.

@@Robert_Douglass No. You have to separate production from distribution. Production can be scaled to meet needs; however, distribution can never be met because getting goods to where they're needed at the time they're needed requires the ability to foretell the future. Okay, that's the practical side, now examine the human factor. There are people who will always benefit from creating scarcity, in particular if they control the item. So beyond the information problem in market forecasting and humans' DNA behaviors to create certainty in their environment by creating shortages of products to create demand, we can never solve this problem. This is why communism's centrally planned economies will always fail. And, why free markets will never be perfect, but the will always be the most efficient means of distribution.

Like a lot of Hatfield's and McCoy's style feuds. Difference would be some from one side would join with the other side like happened in the first civil war.

-A cheating girlfriend would maintain plausible deniability by lulling you into a false sense of security and acting as if she isn't your enemy in your face, but behind your back she is.
-If your wife left home and took your children, an enemy would bring theirs around to plausibly deniably rub it in.
-The Pepsi factories that closed suddenly maintained plausible deniability until the abrupt closures.
-Employers that want to get rid of certain employees would set them up for failure plausibly deniably to make them look incompetent or have other employees gossip and give them a hard time (plausible deniable work place harassment) hoping the environment is so toxic they leave voluntarily.
There are many different ways to find it and just not enough time to explain it all.

The race is still close. Because we have people who will vote for their party regardless of how bad their candidate may be. This really is developing into a case where the only remedy to this polarization is separation. The only thing that remains to be seen is how violent the separation will be.

He doesn’t understand that the United States has more flexibility on this issue than the “past” because the dollar is the reserve currency of the world. it is important because it means we borrow and pay in our own currency that we control.
No one knows when or if the dollar will use its reserve currency status. but there has to be alternative. The British pound was reserve currency for the world prior to WW1 and it was replaced by the dollar by the time the war ended. But you cannot name a single currency, or any list of currencies today that will stack up to replace the dollar. There is NOTHING. It may not be that way always, but you need another country to develop. China would be an alternative if the CCP were toppled and replaced with democratic republic and the rule of law. But the CCP makes the rembi a joke. No one is dying to hold rembis. If the CCP did not artifically support the rembi it would vanish in to oblivion.

You need enough freedom to see it being taken away while still providing enough to allow you to fight. Add that to the age of marriage and the feeling of no way out of the situation and you're getting close to the right conditions. I don't think we're there yet, but we're getting close. And what's even scarier is there's no where to run. Almost every country is at this point

His point about feminism being a cover for not being able to afford to have families is nonsense. It’s more cost effective to have a two person household. Kids are sticky and expensive plus pregnancy is very hard on your body. Next is the interesting pool of “eligible” partners being unappealing at times. Sometimes it’s easier to be single and eat ramen. God forbid women consider what THEY want instead of living for those around them or surrendering to societal pressures. It’s almost like when you give people choice you get a lot of varied outcomes.

I disagree entirely with this guy I don't think we're anywhere near close to a civil war. The last civil war we had was because of political and social issues not because of economic issues. Americans traditionally can tolerate quite a few economic problems before they become severely irritated but in the end they're not going to sit there and start a revolution because of economics. Using the rest of the world as an example for us not exactly the best. Play we're not the rest of the world, are also if you're not from the US traditionally then of course you're not going to understand us. You keep using foreign examples to try to prove your point. We're not the English we're not the Germans we're not the Russians we're not the people in Africa we're not the Asians we are Americans. We are completely different from the rest of the world if we have a civil war it's going to be because of political issues not because of economic ones

You are free to be independent. But your statement “being a slave to man and kid” shows your mental frame, and it falsehood. When independent women vote to expand societal benefits that statistically they benefit from in majority, its funding will be in unequal part taxed by government from men. Ironically “enslaving” men to your benefit. Simply put, you are not independent, no one person is. You are simply avoiding the natural dependency that is built into male/female relationships and fulfilling your “needs” with social programs. While men and population numbers suffer the outcomes. Once population diminishes enough, ALL will suffer the outcomes.
