Sadly I've heard that the PSA group (now called Stellantis as they merged with Fiat-Chrysler) will no longer produce the Citroen C1 and Peugeot 108 as they see the "A-segment" as no longer profitable. However, Toyota has successfully sold 100,000 Aygo's and has bought out PSA's share of their joint venture. The Aygo will continue to be manufactured and will have a refreshed design as they now own the car plant that makes the Aygo, C1 and 108. The Aygo is one of the most reliable small cars in the UK. I had a C1 as my first car and though it didn't have the acceleration in certain conditions, it was still brilliant and reliable.
They should bin off such tiny horrific cars. Just had one delivered zs a hure car for a work trip. Leaving it at home and taking my own car. Pointless, too small, 6ft and I can't get comfy without the steering wheel touching my legs.
@@welshjim22 I'm 6 ft 2 and i drive it pretty comfy, for what it is obviously, you can't pretend an car long 3 meters and 45 cm to be confortable as an 3 series bmw
If you’re gunna make shorter cars then you need to go taller. Toyota have recently done that with the aygo-x. Japanese manufacturers will have the most success in small car markets due to having the most experience designing and engineering them through their many decades of kei-cars. PSA have excellent and cheap hatchbacks though. Fiat 500 is a classic but only practical if you’re a midget and Vauxhall’s stab at the small car market in the form of the ‘Adam’ was actually quite a decent car but as it was using Vauxhall’s eco engines (not so eco), it was an urban car that wasn’t really fuel efficient in urban areas. That was made before the PSA / Vauxhall merger though. If they made the Adam now, raise the ride height by 5cm+ and put in the PSA 1.2 engine with an EAT6 option, they’d probably dominate the small car market in Europe.
I've got the citroen c1 mk1 and travel 35 miles a day and it only cost's £20 per month in fuel. Lad's at work joke when I'm a big boy I'll get a big boy car I'm 41 years old. The thing that I really like is in town its really really easy to find parking. Doesn't look much but I have to say that it's really fun to drive
Had one of these this week as a rental. Quite fun to drive in the city and a dream to park and performed decent on the highway. I can imagine that you grow tired of the car quickly tough if you really like to drive and already have a nicer car.
This car actually has a great engine in it. It doesnt make that much power or anything, just really rev-happy and exiting to drive. Not that great through the corners though. Is it just me or did you notice that as well
That is my car, exactly my Car. Pure driving fun and with one full refilled Tank the maximum Range is approx 900 Kilometers. 10 Liter fuel can in the Trunk and the 1000 Kilometer Marker is overrun.
It could be me but i hate the way he drives. i have a c1 from 2006 myself. the guy driving shifts too late, and lets the rev counter get too high when driving away. also, it’s very dangerous to squeeze through cars waiting. just wait until you can join the road. something major could’ve happened if a car came out from behind the white van. 2nd of all, doing 80+ and only just then shift to the 4th gear?! i wonder how the engine still runs he should already be in his 4th / 5th gear before he joins the motorway
It is slow but not dangerously so. Need to keep it in a lower gear and use higher revs to get moving faster. Takes a surprising amount of revs to move off and the car has a high clutch bite (tested new one). These two things make it less approachable for new drivers than the German VW up!/seat mii/skoda citigo cars imo.
Don't go for the VW up I've test drove it. It wasn't any different power wise. Yet it lacked gadgets and felt boxy and old fashioned inside. They also changed the crash test results on the UP! knocking it down to 3 out of 5 when it originally had 5 out of 5. Look at owner reviews and not company ones for these cars to recieve a clear view. 2 of my friends have c1s. One is a 2014 and the other is a 2017. Both owned for 3 years now and never failed an MOT. No problems at all and fine on the motorway. I've just bought my own C1 (top spec flair) with sunroof, sat nav etc (19 plate) its great! I nearly went for the UP! But I made the correct choice 100 percent.
After all these test drives you still haven't learn how to handle the clutch in a manual car. It gives me ticks to watch how you rew it just to get it running, like in the beginning where you drive out between the cars in the "stau".. Even my grandma does not do that, so I really do wonder how you got your driving licence.. lol.
I have to say something in defense of the driver. My brother has a toyota aygo, wich I think has the same 3 cylinders engine and clutch of the citroen c1, and I drive a yaris, the clutch is completely different, the first time I drove it I was reving like this too. I drive manual since 2004 and that's the first car made me rev like a granny.
@@marcomilanetti You're right Marco, I got a 108 for my 17th with the exact same engine and body. It's got a really high biting point and sensitive throttle so moving off is tough when you first drive the car
I can also confirm that. It is truly hard to adapt to the clutch and accelerator pedal of this car. The response of the accelerator pedal is sort of sluggish while the clutch pedal has a high biting point as mentioned before.
Love these small cars!!! And with 70 cv it's reasonably fast and agile. A very good choice as a second car. Good test Joe!!!!

nice driving, i liked it! c1 this version and older versions looks like pretty. Especially this car is ideal for new drivers :)
Exactly that why I got one with shiftpedals witch is kind of irconic cause ist automatic so it has no rev display
Very beautiful small car !!👍🔝
The slight misalignment of the steering wheel really annoys me xD
The way he drives between the cars😹😹
J’aime beaucoup cette petite voiture. Idéale pour un jeune conducteur.
This car has the Toyota Aygo interior right?
Well technically, the C1, 108 and Aygo all have each others interior.
Practically the same except some trim levels and the steering wheel badge
Their all the same

Looks similar to the fiat 500 and smart forfour in the rear
