Brad does not get it but Lex understands the Blues. She recognizes the fact that Led Zeppelin was a band that played the Blues at an extraordinary level, and she appreciates it.
Rock on lexe baby. You are in the groove
Yep, he needs to loosen up.....it's called lead singer charisma, and the Robert Plant has it in spades..even guys admire his complete presenece ...and you obvs need to buy a pair of those jeans to wear for Lex ;-)
Neither of them get true rock music I think
@@nikkisterling8209 No, but at least the girl can identify the blues within the rock. But, I think if you are going to do a reaction on a song, it is best to do some research on that song first to be prepared for whatever comes. Also, she needs to be a bit more articulate with her comments because just sitting there, laughing, and saying that was great just doesn’t cut it, which is why most people will tune in and listen to a few reactions, but will then shortly learn not to waste too much time of those comments are not better than awful.
Brads an emotional cripple,
This lady is deep.
She gets it.
She’d have been a blast to had along at one of these shows back in the day.
Yes yes yes 👍
And she's beautiful too... perfect.
So much what I was thinking. Lex is an adorable ZoSo fan.
She's always smiling, she makes my day.
😂😂😂✌
I can imagine Lex seeing the Mona Lisa in the Louvre in Paris and being drawn into the portrait’s famous enigmatic smile, and Lex’s mind and soul drifting into a meandering journey as the vision takes her through layers of thought and emotion, only to be abruptly and suddenly shaken from her by Brad asking what she thinks the frame is made from 😂 I hope you appreciate this lady, mate. She’s got a phenomenal mind and soul. Seeing her experience these songs for the first time is simply joyous.
😂😂😂
Imagine being a 14 tear old boy in a small town scouring the records in a local drug store and finding an album with no name, no words on it, just an old man bent over with some sticks on his back .... But somehow I KNEW it was Led Zeppelin
Yeah, 14 years old and I bought it unheard and listened to it for a weekend straight, lying on the floor with a speaker next to each ear.
Long before I was a Zeppelin fan I was at a Boy Scout Camp when I heard music coming from a Counselors tent. Somehow in 20 seconds or so I instantly knew it was Led Zeppelin. I had never heard the song, I had never heard a Zeppelin song to my recollection but I knew who it was. There's no mistaking their music for anyone else. So unique.
My sister told me, when I was 3, that SC didn't exist. She was 7 & someone told her & then she told me. Then, became the unfortunate moment where my parents grounded her for telling me the truth. My over achievers siblings would let me listen to their albums when they were not at home. So, a few years later, my sister bought LZ IV. The awkward sisters fights we had where I would throw out how she ruined SC for me but then realizing that I'm the person that made her original LZ IV skip several times on every song.
Brad suffers through most rock music with an impatient, annoyed look on his face, while Lex blissfully rocks out next to him.
He's also always looking for 'what it's about' when sometimes it's best to let it flow over you and don't worry about that.
@@terrycunningham8118 I would love for them to do some Camel, Hawkwind or Jane for example, and watch him be lost, lost lost, while Lexi just grooves on.
@@toddstevens13 Yeah, but to be fair to Brad, they wouldn't have a channel or would get their videos pulled if they did that. He definitely has to focus on the game-plan and force the 'reaction and analysis' part, even if his role is to stop the vid and try and figure out the meaning of the song. He gets razzed for that but it's a necessary evil in this genre and somebody has to do it.
@@terrycunningham8118 Nothing wrong with having more then 1 Channel, many have 2 or 3 channels covering different things or styles. Not talking about pausing the video, of course they are supposed to, he just does not get into anything that is not a certain area, and again that is fine, I do not like certain styles either, as I am sure you are. Lex is just on a different level, and deserves to expand her horizons. There are several "Couples" on here where sometimes one only does a reaction, so it is not a big deal at all.
Lex is the coolest.
The smile on Lex’s face and involuntarily movements of her body when Jimmy is doing his thing is all you need to know.
On Whole Lotta Love her nose would crank love every time he said every inch
I have misgivings about Brad ever catching up to Lexi.
Time will tell
@@stuartsiglain3972 They're opposites. That's why their relationship works so well.
When I listen to Jimmy, he makes me forget Angus. But when I listen to Angus he makes me forget about Jimmy.
Throw in Eddie for good measure too!
Robert is using his voice as an instrument better than any other man or woman ever did, such an artist
I agree 💯
My favorite LZ song is In The Time Of My Dying. When anyone asks me why, I say all used their musical talents to perfection.
Page's guitar is a twin neck, the top neck a 12 string, with a standard six string below. It allows him to change over within the song to get a different sound without switching actual guitars. Page was first to really use it live, but many others followed over the years. This was the legacy tune of our era for those of us who grew up in the 60's and 70"s. This entire live album was and still is absolutely incredible.
This is still the all time legacy tune of rock, brother!
You can see him revert to the top 12 strings at the end!
"The music follows him..." Once again a comment that is pure genius. Keep going with that stuff!!!
You’re right on. Lex has a good insight to performers
The great musicianship behind these legendary bands - communication through music! (like a lot of Jazz and blues musicians...)
You’ve got an epic song co-written by a top-10 writer of the time, a generation known for great song writing, and a guy with legit support as the greatest guitarist ever at their peak, and performing it after a decade or so of practice. Yeah, the music follows him is about as apt a description as you could get.
It's called a dynamic performance, something rare these days when most singers use autotune 24/7. They can't perform dynamically.
She’s foxy!!! 🦊
Dang! So impressed with Lex every time she comments about new music.
You need to hear the studio version tho.
these people doing all these reactions should always react to the studio version unless somebody request the live version in the comments section and it gets alot of likes or something. 😂
That live version in not my favorite, I agree the studio version is better IMO.
@@matthewgibbs1366 I completely agree. Most live versions do not represent the song. Unless its an iconically known live version.
@@npc.retro87 Yeah, that's especially true for older songs. The quality just won't be the same when it's directly recorded from a concert and has all kinds of distortions/background noise. Once you know the song and how it's "supposed" to sound, listening to the live version and seeing the artists perform is really cool, but without that reference point a lot of older live songs just don't sound nearly as good as studio versions.
Truesay
Lex totally understands what is going on "Almost like he sings what he wants and The Music Follows Him".. Brilliance in the Choice of Words.
No auto tune or nothing just pure talent
This is Robert Plant. He knows he can do anything tf he wants😄
"He just sings the way he wants and the music follows him". You got it in the first 2 min. And that just shows how great musicians they are...
Off topic but listen to El Triste by Mexican singer the late Jose Jose here on YT , he seems to also just sing and the music follows him that seems to be a technique that Plant also executed to perfection
Please watch it and tell me what you think
Cheers
That improvised solo is absolutely insane. Like wtf? He's pulling from so much influence and packaging it all into one. Blues, jazz and rock n roll. What a legend.
Word to the wise.NEVER listen to the live version first. Always listen to studio version, this way you can assume what the artist was trying to portray, and when you hear the live version second, it gives you an idea of how good the band is live, because you have the studio version to compare it to. Much love. ♥️
Exception: Rush-Xanadu Live, from Exit Stage Left. The studio version, complex and recorded in one 10-minute take, is impressive. The "Exit" version blows it AWAY.
@@jflinn2010 Or Neil Diamond
My thoughts exactly! 💯
Except of course for Cheap Trick - I Want You to Want Me (from Budokan!) .. and Peter Frampton ..
I've mentioned this before on several channels.
Only because it's true.
The artists have crafted their creation EXACTLY the way they want us to hear it in the studio version. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Just to let you know---most people from my generation consider this song...the greatest in rock history......
Absolutely.
Yes sir
This song is two decades older than I am, and I consider it the greatest in rock history.
I think the studio version would have been better for a first listen
@@seanbowie918 Absolutely. The live version detracts from the actual song
The way she breaks down Robert Plant's voice❤❤❤❤.....she not only gets it.....she breaks it down so beautifully!!!!
That solo gives me goosebumps every single time . Outstanding band .
I love how Lex gets it and feels the emotions that the song evokes. Brad buddy just close your eyes and let the music flow through you and feel the emotions. :)
Yeah, he really did balls it up didn't he?
bruh this woman rocks tf out, can tell she feels the music. homie is honest too so cant hate, but like bob marley said.. "one thing about music when it hits you, you feel no pain" dont be afraid to let it hit you brotha.
She feels young Robert Plant and who can blame her....
Well said.
he tryin to be cool and shit probably his friends would make fun of him liking rock hahah I dunno xD
she was also rockin on the Hotel California song hehehe,
so hit me with music , hit me with music now
Ok kids, check this out. There was a tribute to Led Zeppelin done by Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart at the Kennedy Center where all 3 living members of Zep were there, and the drums were being played by Jason Bonham, the son of the missing member. This is the most famous song ever recorded and this version is the best cover.
This. So much this. Stairway is a song that is not to be taken lightly. I pity anybody that tries to cover it... until Ann Wilson came along. The Heart cover is not one to be missed. The fact that they performed one of the most legendary songs every by one of the most legendary bands ever in FRONT OF that legendary band. You've got to watch it.
Yes!! 💯💯
Wholeheartedly agree what a performance
Are you hearing us yet Brad & Lex?

"Anybody remember laughter" timing is everything.
As soon as any song come Lexis shows joy and interest. She is able to see the depth of every song!!🌸
Hearts Kennedy Center Honors version will bring tears to your eyes.
Ann kills it and when that choir shows up at the end was truly a moment to see. It even brought a tear to Robert Plant
Please!!!!
Nothing like doing a cover song in front of the people that made it iconic as they are being inducted into the hall of fame. Yet nailing it so perfect that you can see the band loves it.
I went and watched that! Wow! That was a great tribute. Thank you!
Yep. Honestly one of the greatest versions of this song. I'll say it. I love Led Zeppelin too.
I love that Lex is a rocker at heart. I think one of the best Live performances of all time and one of if not the best guitar solos is Freebird Live 1977 by Lynyrd Skynyrd at I think Oakland. Its a must view
It was indeed at Oakland and I completely agree with this statement.
@@sharonkempf1276 Yep, I need to see Lex react to this!
Yes and yes 🙌🏼
Yes and yes! Absolutely check out Freebird live! But first go to "Since I've Been Loving You" next at Madison Square Garden..same concert as this one I think! Led Zeppelin 💞
And Kashmir and so many others!!
Does anyone else think Lex should basically come to live in the UK and be an honorary Brit. Her attitude and outlook is pretty much a mirror of ours. You would be one of us, artistically, mentally and by attitude, you would be welcomed with open arms and welcomed to the fold.
OMG Lex is sooo good. She makes me enjoy these songs even more. And Brad, it is what it is. Let's say you make Lex shine even more. Keep it up
The official studio version is amazing.
Also, the best cover is done by Heart.
The best cover is done by Me First and the Gimme Gimmes. ;)
This is actually a bad version to watch what is arguable the greatest rock song ever, and this isn’t LED’s best live preformance by far
@@michaelybaben4622 I agree it isn't the best live version by far. The ranking of 'greatest rock song...' could be an easy 'yes' if not for Queen's 'Bohemian Rhapsody'. I go back and forth depending on my mood.
Those two are so close that IMO, it's hard to pick a number one. When I was in radio during high school and college, we have one jock who would always speak over the intro to Stairway To Heaven. It pissed us off so much that one day, I pulled the LP from the sleeve and put another Zepplin LP in it's place. He had dead air for several seconds before he realized that his cue was going to his favorite talk over intro.
Not True.
Tossup between “Stairway To Heaven” and “Free Bird” 🤷♂️
It's so interesting to see such different reactions to the same song at the some moment.
Lex vibes on a whole other level. Music is in her soul.
Don't change!
Yeah and Brad (I love ya man!) Was unfortunately distracted by the "camera man" and his angle. Lol!
@@heltomb he ALWAYS gets distracted by unecessary things. People say music taste is subjective (and it is) but the reason he doesnt get into songs is because he doesnt feel them and instead focuses on things like lyrics etc. You can focus on lyrics, but that comes AFTER the music has touched your soul. AFTER the SOUND has reached you. Not the other way around.
Lex is a true Rocker!
The way Lex experience a perfomance and express her experience of it... its really amazing to see, listen to and try to join her depiction of it, like in
"The music follows him".
I hope shes into art.
70’s we’re awsome 80’s too for that matter. Phenomenal band.
She nails Plant as a poet straight off, the narrative he seems to offer...
And when he's performing live his charisma is off the charts.
Always thought he had the dumbest most juvenile lyrics in rock and almost ruined the band but the rest of the band overcame it
She nailed John Bonham in the whole lotta love video
“Does anybody remember laughter?!”
That’s also one of my favorite parts of the live version. It’s crazy that so many years later it’s still a good question to ask.
Barely lol
“I hope so!”
He just doesn't feel this songs greatness she does
Yeah back in the 90's we used to do it all the time, This was before the Psychopaths took control of everything. It used to be a human expression of joy and happiness and now I barely feel human.... thank you 1% for ruining everything that made the Human Spirit soar and I hope you pay bigtime
This is NO AUTO TUNE, NO FAKE ANYTHING
PURE TALENT
Women are naturally intuitive, Lex picks up nuances in music very quickly.
Plus *Robert Plant* sings it slightly different in every life performance especially the screams
I love when Lex starts describing how she feels or her interpretations ..she in herself can take you on a journey..and she nails it every TIME! Love it!. So cute..just want to hug her! Keep on rockin girl !! ❤
She is lying to you. This is bad acting, nothing more. Do you honestly think she has never, ever heard "Stairway to Heaven" before, one of the biggest hits in Rock music history?! Or any of the other songs they claim to listen to "for the first time"?! 😂
@@Ricardo-cl3vs You may be right, the music has been around a long time, but maybe not played on the blues sources of music she likes.

Get over it Brad! Zeppelin live shows the greatness of this band. This song is their Masterpiece!
Robert plants voice is a musical instrument.
RP isn’t gay, just artistic. And probably really high.
Duets of Alison Kraus and Robert Plant. Shes a bluegrass star.
The very thought !
I've seen him operate socially, (he's a local to me), and believe me, even in his 70s, the ladies still love him...and he loves them right back ! :-)

How he F do you know if he is or isn't gay? lol
The guitar and drums in this are out of this world amazing.
Jimmy's solo may be the greatest of all time.
"you got 6 more minutes of that camera angle" hahahaha..that made me chuckle. Robert Plant if nothing else was CONFiDENT. the guitar is a double neck, the upper is a twelve string and the lower 6 string. now check out "Since i've been loving you" Live. 8 more min of that camera angle but killer solo. but the girl at the 6:48 mark of that song says it all
We all loved that camera angle!
Yes...check that out!!!
@@juliemanarin4127 and Robert helped us all out.
Those fan girls probably couldn't get access to Robert Plant, but they could always settle for a guy like....... me.
Robert is so feminine i cringe too when i watch some of these live performances. you can't argue with the music though.
NOW Lex understands what the song "Whole Lotta Love" is about. :)
He doesn't get ROCK music cuz he doesn't want to get ROCK music. He barely giving it attention whereas she's locked in and transfixed by these legendary performances.
Bruh needs to step it up cuz we all here for Lex at this point.
Too much focus on the lyrics and not the music.
He's just left-brained dominant. I appreciate their juxtaposition.
He also seems mad jealous at the fact she likes Robert lol someones insecure it seems
One is a glowing free spirit and the Other a stick in the mud? Life’s opposite attracts, go figure?
I’m convinced that Lex is an incarnate from a old soul. You can visually see and audibly hear a person of wisdoms drawing you into her aura of mystery and she is here for the life lessons for others (some of us have soul contracts like that) and to show others how to enjoy and live life more fully? Brad on the other hand is mainly here for the breath of the wild ride dragon? So Lex is here now to burn off some remaining bad Karma and is here accumulating a wealth of human experiences? All this she would take with her to her next evolutionary advancement of a 5D realm? Then again she might had came to us from the 5D realm and is advancing herself to the 6D realm of reality?
One of the best rock songs ever, so rich and progressive. Lex gets it, you can see by her smile 👍
Im amazed how Lexie got the meaning right away. You are very perceptive, darling. This is about a woman who thinks anything can be bought, including the stairway to Heaven. These guys wrote songs that were like fairy tales, very mythical and mysterious . There are elements of Celtic folk . A little grass and listening to the lyrics in a darkened room would give you a clearer understanding . The guitar with the two necks has a 6 string and a 12 string. The 12 string gives that jingly sound you can hear at the end . Keep listening to the Zeppelin , they go way out a lot, like they did here.
Jimmy page is definitely one of the best guitarist. He used to play one handed. It's really incredible. Also John Bonham the drummer is legendary
good but drunk as a ma all the time. he had to be drunk here timing was shit...a hard song to pull off live though even for them
@@robweeks1453 no

That's the thing about Led Zeppelin... You have arguably the best guitarist, best singer, best drummer and best multi-instrumentalist in rock & roll history all in ONE FUCKING BAND. It's just insane.
What I like about Brad is that he is honest about what he likes and doesn’t really like. I find it refreshing.
You mean Brad is clueless about music and it's refreshing?
@@jeffs9300 yeah, you are probably right because 99% of the time he has no clue😂

@@jeffs9300 could be hand-me-downs too. Idk, I'm too young to have any myself. But it's cool that he's clueless sometimes otherwise it would be boring to watch, lol. He is usually open to a lot of different sounds, so I'll cut him some slack with this one.
I lived through this period and they were the ultimate for me. I'm impressed you finally mentioned the wild guitar Brad. Jimmy Page's double necked guitar was custom made for him so he could test a musical theory of his that, when you played on one neck the strings on the other neck would resonate with the same notes to create a richer, more elegant depth of sound--he was right! now imagine that sound live in Madison Square Gardens...Cheers!
His music really can take you places in your mind like you said Lex!
Brad and Lex, yous guys are geniuses for coming up with this fascinating new perspective of young people discovering Classic Rock for the first time. I've been enjoying it for 50 years going strong and every time I hear them is like the first time.
Regarding the guitar, that's something Jimmy Page designed specifically for this song. The top fret board is a 12 string and the bottom a 6 string. He needed both to be able to do the song right (as he wrote it) and so he had that double guitar made to suit what he needed. The guy is a maestro. Nobody has ever played guitar better than he does but he is also a master of arrangement and simply and all around brilliant musician. If he had chosen classical style music as his path, he would be as famous for that as Bach, Handel, Mozart, Vivaldi or any other classical composer. The man knows music in ways that most people don't understand. That's why Led Zeppelin is the greatest rock band ever.
Robert had that swag and jimmy is just too cool the whole band was ahead of it’s time
Arguably the best rock band ever, literally. Every album, almost every song, was a masterpiece.
Yes!
Amen Brother...
you're thinking of dream theater.
Maybe top five but arguably the best ?…I don't think so..
Every single song they wrote was a hit. Best band ever
The change over is so much more crisp on the album version... it's beautiful!
So are you...
Lex is a jam-band girl at heart! If you could imagine a river and the chords were floating down the middle, Lex would jump in and ride the music wave! Meanwhile dear Brad stands at the water's edge and just watches her go! lol. It is fun watching how the music in these jam sessions just hit you, Lex. I FEEL the music like you do. I love watching Lex react to music, she really feels and listens to the music and appreciates the different styles and genres of music. Just beautiful!
Hi Brad and Lex. There's a famous scene in the Mike Myers movie 'Wayne's World' when they're in a store for musical instruments and Wayne starts playing 'Stairway To Heaven' on a guitar he dreams of buying. The store employee, just stops him and points to the sign saying 'NO Stairway To Heaven'. Wayne turns around to look and then looks back at the camera to say 'No Stairway... Denied!'. Great movie with a great sequel too. Æx 🙏
The band Heart played this song at the Kennedy Center on the tribute night. With choir and the son of the passed member on the drums. You will enjoy that one!!!
Greetings from Holland
YEP! And they played it IN FRONT of Led Zeppelin, President Obama, Michelle and tons of other legendary musicians and celebs.... and they KILLED it!! Robert Plants tears were beautiful.... he said the tears were for how great it was but also cuz he was thinking "How did we get here?" he said "when we started, we were rebels. I always thought we'd just be considered those 4 rebels" then he and Jimmy looked at each other and chuckled. But he went on to say that when he saw Jason on the drums.... it threw him over the edge! That little nugget had been kept secret from them! Hope they do it someday!! ;)

They sang this song a different way thousands of times...never the same.
He's describing a rich woman who believes money will get her whatever she wants. It's not a flattering picture.
He is talking about a woman that is overdosing on H, and how she became to how she is and what she is doing to herself and what everyone around her is letting her do beacuse of her trials and tribulations she is going through. Like watching you two .
Led Zeppelin is the greatest Rock blues band of all time.
This is a segment from the Led Zeppelin 1976 film, "The Song Remains the Same". As amazing as they are live you should still check out the Studio version...I was so mesmerized by it at first hearing and really impressed with Jimmy Page playing the first half of the song on an acoustic 6 string and then an acoustic 12 string. I became almost obsessed with learning how to play it note for note and to my surprise one of my best friends was nice enough to find me the music.
I can also remember that Led Zeppelin tickets were going to go on sale in Chicago but a week later the very sad news of their drummer, John Bonham passing away was all over the airwaves.
For a great cover of this song you need to see Heart at the Kennedy center honors. To see Robert Plant's reaction.
I love seeing people discover the bands my parents raised me on. 38 years later and they still play daily. Great video! You two are an awesome combo and honestly seeing you 2 react in a such a manner is great to see.
Led Zeppelin is a band where all members of the band bring something unique to the table, the guitar, the voice, the bass, the drums, it’s like they’re all competing positively against each other which brings out the best sound for themselves. They compliment each other so well
Lex is right; all of the members of Zeppelin were very improvisational. Each live performance was unique to the performance. This isn't the best version, the studio version is the "proper" version.
I believe Robert plant uses his voice As an instrument. Can I believe that is a very good perspective When you said The music follows him. He is the lead Instrument. Love you guys work keep it up!
there are no words.....just an all time classic song that will live on forever
Led Zeppelin was the Shiiiitttttt and still is. Big influence on many bands after them
FYI, when I grwe up in the 80's and 90's, this song was considered "the greatest rock song of all time." You gotta do the studio version.
It was so great, music stores everywhere asked people not to play it because the employees are sick of hearing it.
This song was never released as a single but if it had been it would easily be considered the greatest song of them all. Its a rock masterpiece.
Led Zeppelin one of the best of all times!!!
I taught myself to play this song on flute in the 80s when I was a teenager.
Led Zeppilin is known for "jamming" thier songs when live.
Their live music will differ a bit from studio versions
I can’t think of a bigger rock song than stairway to heaven. It’s like the most played song of all time. The studio album version is, IMO, better….
By the end of the year it came out, it was the most requested song of all time, ever on radio.
I agree. When I was moving my brother from Florida to (here) Texas, he had an old Triumph Spitfire that we had to work on before we could leave. We tried listening to his favorite station while we were working but, they were converting to the Classic Rock format and, as a promotion, they put on Stairway To Heaven for 3 days straight ... NO OTHER SONGS ... and it drove us crazy.
It was his favorite station so, we kept trying every now and then. We'd turn to another station for a while and then try again ... nope still playing it. It was the strangest thing.
@@StevesFunhouse when was it ?
@@hankmoody3285 If I remember correctly, it was 1993. In fact, they actually wore out 1 CD because it started skipping/repeating a section and, we listened for a few, and they didn't seem to catch for about 5 minutes, then suddenly silence for a few seconds, and then the song started over again, as if they changed the CD (or cleaned it).
Back in the 80’s as I was going off to college, this song was identified as the most played song in history. The claim was that it was played every 12 minutes somewhere in the world. Given the length of the song, that is practically continuously.
Back RE-watching this again- 😆😍Everytime I hear Lex say, “I don’t even think I’ve watched Prince all the way through.” I’m like 😵😧 We gotta fix that couch gang! 💖💙

Because Led Zepplin ads-ilb a lot in live performances it is often better to here the regular recorded version for a first impression.
In my opinion this is one of the worst performances of this song that they ever did I don't know why people keep picking it.
@Joe Hansen I am a purest I like the studio version of songs much better than concert versions. Or I should say once I hear a song One Way hearing it perform different kind of weirds me out.
The live version is absolutely the best version that you could possibly listen to! You would have to be on some kind of drug to think that recording are better! Good God dude! Just like the live version of Free Bird! The piano solo that is absent in the recorded version and the piano in the beginning is also missing in the recorded version. Hands-down live performance is the best!
@@davidosborn9469 I like the studio version, but the live version for me is more raw and personal, there’s more emotion, plus Page’s solo is is so extra that I can’t help but be sucked in for the ride.
@@emcsquared8681 you're right I like live versions and I've heard several that are very good it's just that this particular one I consider bad. To me it is AB-libbed too much
You'll find this song at or near the top of countless rock lists. Best song, best intro, best solo. Iconic in every way. Lex gets it.
Lex you're TOO KIND and that freshness , brad the analysator :) thx
Stairway to Heaven is *the* standard for classic rock songs
"Heart" did the best cover if you want a cover. They performed in front of Zeppelin and paid homage to the drummer John Bonham. Definitely worth the view maybe even a reaction
Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, and john Paul Jones were in the audience at the Kennedy Center and were moved to tears by the performance. Jason Bonham (the late John Bonham's son played drums with Heart for this performance). When their drummer, John, died, Zeppelin broke up. They have reunited a couple of times since, usually with Jason on the drums.
I've never heard a cover of this that is up to the original, but the band Heart did a great cover.
To cover one of the most iconic songs of all time live is a very brave thing to do. To do it in front of the (sadly) living members of the band is CRAZY brave. Nailed it pretty damn well I thought.
What a compliment the two of you are! I've been impressed with Lex's comments per the other first views of Led Zeppelin. Marvelously preceptive and sensually accurate. Enjoy, sometime, the concert video of "The Song Remains the Same," your appreciation level will soar. I certainly enjoy your comments especially knowing that those forty to fifty years my junior can find such enjoyment in well written songs. All the best to you!!!
He described it as “A song of hope”. Early gen x here and it was “oldie” by the time I heard it for the first time. This song has brought hope in the darkness. I have made love to a woman with this song 🎶 playing. I have sat with a dying man as this was the last song he ever heard and took his last breath as the final line was sung.
Actually, “I think this is a song of hope”
To really appreciate the song you have to listen to the studio version, three of these four band members were stoned out of their mind during live performances thank god for John Paul Jones for holding it all together.
The Greatest Naval Captain?
This is just 1 song, there are so many...I still tear up (literally cry) at the age of 64 when listening to the musicality. Their improvised live performances are simply amazing! Oh, did I mention that this band is the greatest!
I'm with you on that, brother.
Same
In life, there is before hearing LZ, and the rest of your existence. You will never be the same.
It gives me goosebumps everytime is see it. Thank you for this reaction. ♥
Lex really feels music in her soul. I can tell you that this set really can take you on a journey. I used to lay under the stars on a clear summer night with this playing and listen to this soundtrack from start to finish and it took me to another dimension.
Robert Plant's "teapot" stance is so cool - and when the band played live, they basically jammed each song off one another, like magic.
Thank Lex. You feel the music like me. You're amazing!! I really think so this solo is the most creative in the rock history,. Ever !! Thanks for your reactions
I was lucky to be brought up as a teenager in the West Midlands (near Birmingham in the UK) when great local bands such as Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath for example were establishing themselves and seeing them in small venues before they hit the big time!! Glad you appreciate this massive band and their great songs!
He sings and the music follows. Lex...WOW. 👌👌
