You can imagine how awesome it must have been to live there in its day. Sad to see how it is now. No fire damage, but it does look like once upon a time it was being renovated, then sadly for whatever reason they stopped and it went beyond help :(

The old iron thing laying in the remains of the collapsed chimney breast looks like an old cast iron fire place, you can see the the old bars of the grate laying by it. It may be the one which has fallen from upstairs as it looks like a bedroom fireplace.

This is a lovely house on the Isle of White, that in its prime must have been stunning. I think that it has fallen down due to neglect rather than fire and while renovations started, they were stopped for whatever reason. This must be valuable land and a prime area for a soulless modern mansion

I think that could possibly be the neighbours doing that. If I lived next to that place I'd spend hours chilling out in the grounds, inventing a history and background for the house. Plus certain access might be shared as those gates to the seat were good quality and fairly new looking too, as was the seat and decking too whereas the House abandoned maybe three decades 😊

It would have been a beautiful house in it's day. They would have had a couple of servants as there is a bell push at the side of each fireplace. Thank you for this video, I would live to know what happened there. Judging by that large tree on it's side there could have been a strong force Gale blow through that area. I also think on many of your other Explores you should wear a hard hat.

It looks like the roof was not so bad at first, if it was worthwhile putting bowls to catch drips. I guess there was just not enough money to make adequate repairs & it has decayed over the years. A lot of the floors did not burn at all but have deteriorated due to the rain & weather. It is a shame that the fireplaces, doors, shutters & fittings etc were not salvaged while it was possible.

My parents used to live in NE Scotland and they too owned a house with a "private" beach up to the High tide mark; including the embankment area which ran from the property down to the beach. Looking at the deeds of the house and because of the angle the house was situated relative to the beach, the area they "owned" was absolutely ludicrous. In reality (thankfully for them), it was given that they were actually only responsible for the house and immediate surrounding gardens as defined by fences, hedges, walls etc... Cool thing to say to friends that I lived in a house with a "private" beach, but the reality was actually quite different.... Brilliant memories though.
