Watching Sting and Stewart argue is almost as entertaining as watching them perform their songs.
I like him. He has matured but hasn't really matured. No one else can amaze and annoy Sting better than Stewart.
He referred to Sting as The bass playing element of the band. 😂👍
He had the golden crown - Tonto's expanding head band ;)
LOL you saw that too??
The *fucking* bass playing element**
Thank you Stewart for attending an amateur gig in Newcasle and leaving your phone number to an amateur bass player and school teacher .. What an incredible story ...
Stew is proper giving out Doc Brown vibes in this clip! 😂
😉
Lol
I like this guy. He tells it like it is plus he's one of my all time favourite musicians
I truly❤Stewart Copeland. With The Police or not Stewart was and will always be an OUTSTANDING drummer🎶
I agree, and love the sound of the band in this tour. This was very funny!!
He says that the fill appears in "Every Little Thing She Does is Magic", but in the scene from Better Than Therapy he is referring to it says "So Lonely".
You are rigth Stewart your drums are really «magic» and your octobons is something I ever wanna want to heard more on the Reunion Tour... regards from Perú!
I loved that bit in the Better than Therapy documentary for the reunion
Too funny! You tell it, Stew!
Love all you do
jajajaja indeed it is!!!!! wonderful book I just got mine!!!! Come to Colombia stewart here are a lot of rhythms still to study!!!!
Without Stewart Copeland, Sting would still be playing jazz on Friday and Saturday nights in Newcastle pubs.
Of course he would you muppet!!
True to a point ...but sting had the pop star looks and could write hit songs ..he already had a publishing deal with virgin records before the police had formed...Copeland picked up on that ..he had the big music connections ...his brother miles was quiet a big hitter in the music industry at the time...

Sting had pop star looks Lol, he was the ugliest member of the band.
@@SH-ig7wt Right. Sure he was. Right.
@@pal4597 The Police formula was 33.3% but mainstream doesn’t know about Andy & Stewart
I love The Police! I grew up listening to them! They are amazing musicians! I love Sting, Stewart and Andy!
Every little thing he does is magic
👌
So there!
I would like to add that Sting asked to remove hit hats addition from Stewart Copeland in the initial recording of Every breath you take. I wonder if Stewart Copeland remembers what he had in mind back then (and did). It would be great to bring back to life his initial ideas to the song.
If you like this I think you’ll love Stewart’s autobiography, ‘Strange Things Happen’! 👌 .. 😀
Yes Stew, but Sting was right. You did fuck it up in that rehearsal! 😂♥️
He absolutely, undeniably, and undoubtedly did...and still just can't admit it. It's ok Stew, you're still great, but Sting was right that day...
I just saw that video with sting for the first time today and it's like the first thing I noticed. He trips over his own beat immediately after starting the song
Something you may not know is that Stewart’s just won his second Grammy (one this year and one last year (2022 and 2023)), for his collaboration with Indian musician Ricky Kej! Congratulations Ricky and Stewart! 👌 .. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 … 😃
This MOFUS never stop!! I remember seeing that spat on Ytb. ..long live rock.. and carry on, without arguments and fights bands are woud be nothing. I hope any of those guys corrects my grammar. Signing out 4 now, on my way to a "secret mission "
He would have made a great Michael in the Good Place
I don't know about you, but I'm headed over to the "Everything She Does is Magic" RUclips video pronto.
My second favorite drummer, but he's a handful. I can see why Stewart and Sting maybe had a rocky relationship.
Who's your first?
@@johncalvo1743 I think you already know. Am I right?
Whats the song at the beginning of the video?
What fill he refers to? The opening? ... Every little thing is my all-time fave song, not only by The Police but by every artist there is...
Can someone tell me what song is the intro?
Well obviously.
Stew is the man. 🙂
Where can I find a clip of this fill???
So what is this fill?
I always liked Stewart. I like all members of the police and if you get around to it, watch the documentary from Andy Summers called surviving the police it is really good.
Sting was the songwriting element...the other two were musicians ...two different types of skills....that's how sting described it .
Sting didn’t write every song though
@@SH-ig7wt He wrote every song that mattered.
-you don't owe Sting, ANY EXPLANATIONS, APOLOGIES, OR ANYTHING !!!! you're THE BIGGEST REASON, his songs WERE SOOOO GOOD, IN THE FIRST PLACE !!!! and he's UNBELIEVABLY UNAWARE OF THAT TRUTH, and UNBELIEVABLY UNTHANKFUL, AS WELL !!!! HE SHOULD THANK YOU, FOR YOUR ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS FILLS !!!! SERIOUSLY !!!!!!! HE'S JUST JEALOUS, BECAUSE YOUR FILLS ARE SO AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL, THAT THEY TAKE THE "MUSIC-LISTENING" ENJOYMENT, OFF OF HIM... AND PUT THE "MUSIC-LISTENING" ENJOYMENT ONTO YOU !!!!!!! AND HE'S A SUPER STUCK-UP, ATTENTION-HOUND !!!!!!! It's just that simple... I don't blame you, for bein' pissed off !!!!!!!
What fill is he talking about? I listened to that song 3 times and can't find anything that good. There is a video of him saying that whole thing to sting but it's not the same song. ruclips.net/video/8UL_rhTjsQ8/видео.html
Even Snoop Doggy Dog digs it!
I'm trying to figure out how you are not to like Stewart Copeland, and I have been doing that sense I first heard him on Zennatta Mendatta.
But I just can't figure it out,
No one can top him.
Sting turned the reunion tour into a jazz fusion version of the Police. I saw them at Wrigley field and I was left wondering. It melded into one big Police song. Dissatisfaction.
Sting isn't always right but when he is.....he drinks 😂 i don't tell Ian what to play on every song but sometimes I want a specific thing to be played that s all.
Both of them are masters of their respective crafts and they butt heads constantly. But man they made some great albums.
Both of these guys need to just get over it.
lol they did, they’re just messing around now.
Dude why is every comment in any police video an aggressive “I’m the only one who knows the truth about the band dynamics” deal. Completely unprompted.
I'm certain that all the problems between Sting and Stewart come from Stewart being more popular than Sting, whereas Sting always kind of felt like an orphan, since his parents weren't as supportive as Stewart's for doing music. Stewart is irreplaceable and even better than Neil Peart who I keep hearing about.
Neil Peart and Stewart Copeland are equally both great drummers/percussionist. Only difference is in their style of playing. Plus they both were great friends and learned from each other.
@@bryanfairchild3500 nope. Stewart is #1.
@@bryanfairchild3500 And good looking counts for something aNeil Peart ain’t sexy.
@@bryanfairchild3500 I remember this scene from Better Than Therapy that was produced by Jordan Copeland, where Stewart made that bet. =)
@@bryanfairchild3500 I guess it's kind of sad when everyone comes up to Stewart saying he's their second favorite drummer. So I'm here to put Neil Peart in his place in the pecking order. He's second only to Stewy.
Without Stewart mister stingman would be making hundreds of dollars a month by now.
Egg on Stingo’s face! 🤣🤣🤣 Love it! Safe to say there’s a reason a bass player isn’t a drummer where trying to tell a drummer how to do his job is the ultimate act of lunacy and delusional arrogance born from spending too much time around paid session musicians too scared to tell him where to go!
Hence why Sting has not, and never will, reach the heights of music that The Police did.
He plays with the drums. Not hits or punishes them. Its nice to hit them hard WHEN the guitar player has a plexi half stack and the bass player has a big amp too. 👌🤣. FAIR PLAY.
A drum fill studied by academics? Yeah, right!
Exactly...and he's (Stew) seems to be talking about the fill he completely blew in that rehearsal video. Some great stuff in the original recording, but he wasn't even referring to that....Let it go, Stew.
Stop whining
