    One of my fav interviews from them. Stewart and Andy were speaking facts...especially about how America treats it's music and racism!! Oh and the Sting slander on here is so annoying, tired and transparent. The problem isn't him. It's you.

    They are so right, that's why i stopped listening to the radio years ago and i found that i enjoy music even more, i don't think very much about genres anymore. I don't see why i can't listen to Kiss for a while and then move to Massive Attack and Sibelius or Max Richter later, it's nice to think for yourself.

    Sting is most happy talking about himself - it’s a theme through most of the Police interviews and gives a big clue as to how things would eventually pan out

      Well, to be fair, the interviewer was asking Sting questions specific to him, so he answered him.
      On a side note to any fans of Robot Wars and specifically Razer, did anyone else notice how Andy Summers sort of sounds like Simon Scott from the Razer team here?

      At one point he scrambled to get rid of his Geordie nose. I remember doing a lot of eye rolling when I realised that he had his nose done. Prolly to look more intellectual. Sounds like book title. The Intellectual Nose.

      After Reading Andy Summer's book,it probably could be contributed to total excess of cocaine use. Cocaine apparently powered The Police,and weren't they fantastic.

    What Stewart is talking about with the radio in the US was cured--for a time--by MTV. All forms of pop music in one central place. Shame it didn't last.

      @@chrisbennett6260 I think it was combination of two things. MTV decided to add non music programming like The Real World and Beavis And Butthead and they became huge successes. This gave them the idea to keep trying to pump original shows until they eventually lost interest in music completely. But I also think it's one of the many, many things the Internet ruined. Once you could go online and watch any video you wanted anytime you wanted, sitting and waiting through commercial to see you favorite band seemed awfully quaint. RUclips killed the MTV star.

    At 4.18 you can tell Sting doesn't seem to like Stewart all that much. The police were at their best in 1979.

    imagine seeing the police at the Hammersmith Palais! It was a very important gig they played in India I didn't think they quite realised that here, meaning a rock band this size had rarely played live in India.

      India had never had a rock band play there, The Police were the first, and it would become Sting's most favorite gig ever at the time because the audience had never heard of them, by the end of the night, the place was rocking, people from all over Bombay came to watch, they all had an amazing night to remember
