GVRS is now in Eastern Police District; Mayor Scott says move driven by data not politics

- While Mayor Brandon Scott offered an update to his 5-year crime strategy, he also announced the fourth expansion of the Group Violence Reduction Strategy.
The program, also known as GVRS, was piloted in the Western Police District in January 2022 and has since expanded to the Southwestern District in January 2023, the Central District in January 2024, and now, the Eastern District. Mayor Scott said GVRS in the Eastern took effect on April 15, 2024.

Why didn't the mayor do this 2 years ago? One little boy trying to do a man's job.
Mayor Scott needs to get rid of councilman Robert Stokes Sr. in the Eastern District pacifically the Oliver Community. If you were to take a ride around the community and do a quick research on it's last decade, the neighborhood have been filled with nothing but blight, and even thou crime has decreased, so have the residents and homeowners due to the major vacant houses and properties, lack of food markets that provide the mostly older/senior district with fresh food options. There is little to no food drives or incentives for the residents of the community. And crime is still prevalent. And lastly, its time for a fresh change. He been in office since I was a child and all I mostly see is the recs closing, more drug selling, less schools, no supermarkets in sight or range, vacant properties, dumping sites, etc. I can go on and on for days but we need a fresh change
I live in Midway East and stokes is our councilman and YES HE NEEDS TO GO I myself will not be voting for Stokes I will be voting for Republicans only bad thing is we have no republicans running for Mayor just all criminal democrats
Robert can't get nothing done because, he's always in some watering hole, early in the morning!

Baltimore needs two things to solve the crime problem 1) More Jails 2) Judges with brains

I’m lost. if there’s a program to help people, I am all for that. if those people don’t do what they need to do then yes they should and need to be in court to have their day and put in jail if need be. It’s just that simple. The mayor is trying to help people and for those he cannot help that’s when Ivan Bates come in
