From the little looking I've done, the power supply is the same one out of the Optiplex xx20 series, so you should be able to swap the XE2 365 watt power supply in which will have a single PCIe power connection that can easily be adapted to an 8-pin. Then you could easily run a 3060 in there. And it looks like it has some spots to add fans as well.
@TheGameBench That’s interesting. I picked up a Dell XPS 8930 from the same generatrion. Was wholly surprised to find that everything was standard in it. Standard ATX connectors, standard fan headers. the original PSU was nothing special but at 550w with support for 230w TDP GPUs up to 300mm in length it was not bad. The only caveat was the single case fan header, but with a 1 to 3 splitter kit it is completely useable. A little more expensive than this though.
@@basicdadtechmakes me curious about how much a cpu can carry a gpu. PCSP has a listing for HP Z440’s with no CPU and 700W psu for $130 I’ve been eyeing so I can throw something crazy like an e5-2696 v3 in for $70 and still be close to the $250 Mark with a cheap gpu and room to grow later down the road.
@@basicdadtech the old i7 8700 can still hold it's own being 6 core and 12 threads,, some of the newer stuff guys are building with isn't a bunch better,,,especialy where budget builds go.
DO it a great way toi cheap setup that works really well,,, that is why I am working with the 3430 I talk about,,, got 2 of them for less than $300,,, great starting point really.
according to PC Builds' Bottleneck Calculator, the GTX 1050 Ti is a serious bottleneck for this CPU. But your future choice, the RTX 3050, should be a perfect pairing for the i7-8700 at 1080p; can't wait to see THAT video!
Did all that testing fr no reason because you forgot the most important game of all... Can it run doom? Kidding lol, great video and surprisingly decent little performer.
Can I ask you please how did you fit long nmve ssd to this motherboard? (1:46) You just unscrewed the pin in the middle (for short ssd setup) and screwed it into right place? I have optiplex 7070 with short ssd and same factory setup (only one screwed pin and one empty hole) and want to change it. So wanted to ensure that there is no need to buy that adittional pin from dell. You can just unscrew the pin from the middle hole, right?
@Office-Clerk yes I unscrewed the middle screw and then place it in the other spot. But then I had to screw another smaller screw into that screw to place the NvME drive.
@basicdadtech oh, doesn't seem like the whole comment was posted. I believe that area is tied to your Amazon links somehow. If the area is relevant to you, you can sanitize those links by generating when signed out or not allowing location.
I LOVE THESE KINDS OF VIDEOS

Quite an attractive looking PC, in my opinion. Very sleek and understated.
Great video, I believe 8th gen supports 2666 MHz ddr4 ram for most
Watching this all the way from Pakistan.
Crazy to see it do so well on Fortnight. I know it’s usually a CPU heavy game and the 8th Gen is carrying it a lot but over 200 is very surprising.
@jizzo2009 Agreed. Honestly I should have also tried Low, Med, and High settings as well.

Please use the 3050 6gb
@ochitokes I am tempted to get the 3050. Brings the overall price of the PC up though.

Yes you can. I did a whole video on the RX 550. Good budget card.
