Good day, I've been a resident of Cheney off and on since 1976. We moved here originally when my Dad was stationed at Fairchild AFB. We were a large family and purchased land in the Cheney school district. There's so much more to this story. But for now... 👍 😃
@@twonomads Good day, I had my chronology off a bit 😃 we moved here in '74, transferred to Yokota AFB, Japan in '76, then back here in '79. There's many great tales of Jr. High, which was at the Fisher Bldg, High School, the "Frog Farm", which was a "Hippie Commune", just across the tracks on Cheney/Spangle. And some amazing bands that formed from this area, and much more

@@twonomads I'd be happy to get you some footage of Cheney back in the "Old Days". It's amazing how much it has changed. For instance, there used to be, I believe, 6 RR Tracks across Cheney/Spangle Rd., the last tracks, leaving Cheney, used to be "City Limits".
I wish you had included at least a little bit of info as to what the town is like to live there today, or at least maybe some links to other vids. I plan on moving to the PNW sometime in the near future, and Spokane or its region is one of the areas on my list. ❤
I had not thought of that, thank you for your comment. The town is small and adorable and would be a great place to consider moving to. The train is pretty loud, so make sure you are a few streets up from first street.
As a student attending Eastern Washington University, I find Cheney to be a breath of fresh air in comparison to the Puget Sound area. I hope to be a resident of Cheney long after I graduate EWU.
I know this was two years ago but I have a few questions. My family and I are planning on moving there next summer. Do you know about how much apts are? Pref 2-3 bedroom apts? Is it a decent town, because the crime rates where I'm at now, well let's just say we're on our 33rd homicide of this year. So, I'm just ready to move for good. I'm currently in Louisiana so I won't be able to visit Cheney until Jan of 2024
This place sucks! Unfortunately I attended high school here because my adopted father attended EASTERN. I love OMAK and I wish I had graduated from there.

I grew up in Spokane 16 miles from Cheney. I went there when it was Eastern Washington State College in 1972 after my discharge from the Marine Corps.
