unniyappam recipe | unniappam recipe | neyyappam or unni appam | banana appam with detailed photo and video recipe. a classic south indian or kerala cuisine sweet snack, made from rice, jaggery and banana. it is generally made in temples as offerings, but these days it is also made for festival celebrations feast like onam. traditionally the snack is deep fried in ghee, but in this post, i have used appe pan.

Neyappam differs slightly in shape n texture. It is flat, disc shaped.
Ginger powder and sesame seeds are optional for Unniappam.

Hi Hebbar ! I made these today. The taste was out of the world ! Just like I wanted. However some of my appams stuck to the pan and some burnt too. Any reasons? How can I avoid this next time? I used iron appam pan. Thanks.
