This is my favorite sort of title for a Jingles video. All sorts of opportunities to humiliate himself in twitch-gaming, but also many opportunities to display his arcane knowledge and surprisingly sharp wit, for an Old Man!

honestly i just finished work, sat down at my pc and though "woo hoo saltmines q&a to watch, then asked myself how i missed it live, saw this video up, though something wasn't right, then read you comment, and remembered its thursday night....... its been a strange year.......
Re the genetic make-up of the tribes.
It's always difficult to talk about this subject.
But, given certain genetic heritages originally developed in different environments on Earth, it's possible that Gaia initially released the clones into similar areas of the world. At least until civilisation and paticularly horticulture allowed diverse populations to move across the planet and live together.
For example, evolutionary biologists largely agree that the white european genetic type developed as a response to drastically reduced sun exposure in Northern climes. Requiring a faster response from the vitamin D producing process in the skin than in Africa or the Middle East.
However, improvements in diet associated with civilisation mean that other genetic skin types can now live in Northern Europe with vastly reduced danger of vitamin D deficiency.
Also, genetic mixing doesn't always result in an "averaging" of all genetic traits. Humans are not pots of paint.
Due to a variety of mechanisms in DNA some well understood and some poorly.
So, it is unlikely you'd see a single monotype of humanity without deliberate genetic engineering.
So the variety of villagers seen is not wokeness. But a genuine expression of what would be seen after only a few thousand years.
Came here to say the exact same thing. Dominant genes and recessive genes are not a guaranteed 100% outcome. It'd be entirely possible for a distinct genetic makeup to be seen (although there would also be mixing in some.)
On top of which genetic diversity was built into Project Zero Dawn. It's one of the reasons we only see cultural bigotry and not racial bigotry in the games.

We've had thousands of years of humans trading around the world and we still have roughly distinct ethnic groups. Although I believe DNA analysis shows we're much more mixed than external appearances may show.

Been waiting patiently for Jingles to play this. I've not watched any other play through so I could enjoy the Jingles experience 👍
I've watched two other playthroughs. You can bet your bottom Euro that I'll be watching Jingles ham-handedly stumble and bumble his way through this game. Heck, listening to Jingles laugh at himself for the foolish things he does is half the fun!
Thanks for the video oh mighty overlord. Though it may be fair to add some context that you seem to have forgotten from the first game: it wasn't nanomachines, but great big war machines that ran on biological material that were destroying earth. This destroyed the entire biosphere, including of course all humans. Gaia with her sub programs was able to restart the biosphere bit by bit, until eventually they brought back humans from preserved cells. In the first game you came across a cauldron where the kids were being taught stuff, and eventually escaped from a robotically operated nursery. These became the tribes.
Though a large period of time has passed between the end of humans, and the reintroduction of humans, there actually have not been that many generations passed for intermixing of different peoples. This is why the groups tend to be so racially diverse.
I am sure you will find all this again as you explore the game, but it may be handy to have the correct background before you do :)

There's always been quite a plot hole there with the relatively short time between the release of humans into the wilds and the the present.
Given that we never found another cradle facility, I assume that all the tribes be so far met - with the exeption of the Quen - originaly came from the cradle facility in the sacred lands.
And those tribes diversified A LOT for such a short time, and at least the Carja have developed some impressive architictual skills for such a short time frame. No wonder Jingles assumes it simply MUST have been a lot longer. I would assume the same if I hadn't payed attention to the clues about the time line - and even so, I had to go the external sources to verify that it was indeed such a short time.

I feel conflicted. On the one hand I absolutely love the character idea for Aloy, with the tremendous depths of what she represents, on the other hand SONY is so much of a POS I cannot in good conscience give them my money.
They insert DEI in the most bus stuff... I loved the first one.. now I have to have more DEI shoved in my face.... so sick o fthe wokeness Sony Pushes... I can't give them my money and I will miss this game.. so Through Jingles, I will learn the story of Part 2
Buddy you are overthinking everything , what ever you will do don't matter if you give money sony or not , there will be millions other people who will pay for game ... or not , so sony will drop brand , they don't care , will replace it with something else ... is important that you know , you don't matter , no one matter one day our civilization will end , one day all traced that human kind have existed will be gone , one day sun will consume earth , one day universe will stop to exist , nothing matter ... only thing that matter is your life , and your happiness , don't over think everything , just go buy game if you wanna play it , have fun ...

What's so great about Aloy? It sounds like just another standard "strong independent girl who finds out she is the key to everything and was actually all powerful all along, she just didn't know it" that's basically the only female protagonist story Western entertainment can produce these days.
Aloy was a fine character until the industry shifted.

I loved Zero Dawn. The story was good but it was the gameplay that kept me coming back. I was always trying to perfect takedowns and use all the neat toys.
Varl shows up and Jingles is like FUCK! really.

Having a backup of a terraforming program makes sense for an escape ship. You'd want a back up plan if you found a planet that was inhabitable but didn't have life as we know it. So you launch the terraforming program machines to give you a food source

Just like you, Jingo, I've also been waiting for this to finally hit on PC to record for my own channel videos for it - But remember that the actual initial game of HZD was then followed by the Frozen Lands DLC - and now Forbidden West . . . I waited for the main HZD to hit sale on Steam before I bought it at around £15 - which also included the FL DLC with it . . . Sadly, I still won't pay full price for any game that has been out on PS5 for over a year, just to give them the benefit of ripping PC users off for mass profits, seeing as they use PC's to actually make the games in the first place . . . So, I'll again be waiting for this FW part to head right down under the £20 mark before I even decide to get it yet . . . Games you might want to try now that your Kitty game is over though - Have a go at "War Hospital" or even "News Tower" . . . Cheers.

Yeah, that definitely seems like an insurmountable problem, if only there were some way that you could both make use of a single device, some way to transfer it between each other perhaps, maybe you could make use of those grasping things growing on the ends of your arms 😆 This isn't The Last of Us where Joel can lift Ellie to a high ledge but she can't reasonably lift him up to follow, it's literally a device you hold, just toss it down to him and you can both make your way up with only a few seconds lost 🤔

I've completed it all. Will be watching this series of course, can't wait to see how Jingles makes his first landing... 😂 Tip: enable automatic resource collection in the settings, it saves a lot of time until ypur pouch is full. After that, anything you collect is transferred to you stash and can be picked up there later.
Holy shit, I literally skipped a bit forward well over ten times before I actually stumbled on some gameplay at 9:54. I'm assuming there's gameplay well before that, but damn, seems more like an animation than a game. 😁

After the first game I was so excited for this one... and then I played it. Not to spoil anything all I'll say is - tame your expectations and be ready to be disappointed.
Watched your playthrough of the 1st many yrs ago now i get to enjoy the 2nd as well waiting for switch to release a full dlc dual pack of both untill then ill just enjoy your vuds

This is a really good game. I am just starting on my second play through in the game + feature. There is a map out there that is worth downloading that shows all the "stuff" in Aloy's world.. Have fun with this one Jingles..

You're in for a treat Jingles. Better than the predecessor in every respect. And an awfully pretty game in general. Also don't forget to marvel at all the intricate detail in the designs everywhere at max detail settings. This is a game which has practically achieved photorealism.

Jingles, no spoiler - safe to read: I don't know how deep you are into this game already... they redesigned the inventory system to the better. There is a setting for the game which I can highly recommend to switch on: Automatic Pickup. Aloy will then pick up everything without you having to press a button. While this would be bad in Zero Dawn in Forbidden West it is much better, thanks to the better inventory system. There is a further game setting to switch off the pick up animation.
I did not want this kind of shortcut from the game at first but after a few hours of gameplay made the changes and was immensely happy with the new settings.
Ashley is amazing. Her youtube channel was so funny. She does guest spots on her brothers podcast, Dungeons and Daddies. Worth the listen if you want to laugh.
Damn so totally would have watched you play this, except I am about to finish my own playthrough and I would spend the entire time backseat gaming..... Well enjoy its an amazing game.

Dammit, I still haven't played this yet. So I'm going to have to wait to watch this series. I adored the story the first time around and don't want to potentially spoil it the second time around.
Well, luckily it is on sale on Steam. So go grab it! And you'll want to get a head start as it is a much vaster world than Zero Dawn. If I had to guess, a bit over 2x the size. And nearly double the time to completion as well. So definitely a great bang for buck.

Just finished the main story of this game. Man I love it so much! By far.my favorite game I've played. Well maybe besides zero dawn lol. I'm gonna start the DLC burning shores tomorrow and am so excited.
You'll enjoy it. I just finished Burning Shores myself. Plenty of new, fun mechanics and locations.
