Yes the girl was his wife Kathy. She is normally behind the camera helping Out with his videos. We all love she made an appearance in this video.
Did you notice her twitching when he hit the low notes?
@@jldyr2 lol yes I think I saw her twitch two times
This video and she is in the BG shot on "Boy Bands in 5 Min" too. She is one of the ladies in that "You should see the size of his wallet" cut out. Eli's wife, Kathy, Earl's husband (the guy who says it) and Layne's wife.
Geoff has said “Did you pick up on the "la la la" section? It's Bach's toccata and fugue in d minor, just shuffled and swung”. At the end, there is a hint of Fur Elise. Check out Geoff on the right doing the Floss as narrator Geoff dances with his wife. :) That and the screaming monsters are my favourite bits.
I've been after Geoff (and Voice Play) to do something classical for some time. I hope they will. I know Geoff (and/or Voice Play) would knock it out of the park. It would introduce so many young people to classical music, people that have never had the opportunity to really listen to Mozart, Bach, Beethoven, and even operatic composers such as Verdi. Would love to hear them do some Gilbert and Sullivan!
@@janhankins911 Interesting idea.
I did notice the fur elise but I had no idea of toccata and fugue at the beginning, but now I see it. Thanks for mentioning!
Wolfman Geoff is my favorite.
Props to Geoff's Choreographer and to his lovely wife Kathy as the screaming dead wife on the couch. Bobby Picket did it on Dick Clark's American Bandstand in 1964. I was 10 years old when I saw the show. He was imitating Boris Karloff and Boris also did it. Geoff has made it even more fun. He even made a video for his patrons so they can learn the Monster Mash Moves.
If you watch carefully, Kathy will twitch on the couch when Geoff drops the really low notes.
My Halloweens are never complete without Geoffs version of The Headless Horseman, and Voiceplays many Halloweens entries. The Monster Mash is just icing on the pumpkin.
Yes, it is a one-man-show, and Geoff's the best! 🤯. Kathy, his wife, is a big driving force and collaborator 🤯🔥
Kudos to Geoff and Kathy!! 💖
Geoff used to play a singing dancing Frankenstein at Disney in Florida, soooooo .
Kathy is the production manager for Voiceplay they do just about everything themselves. Occasionally they have someone come in to do makeup and cameras but it’s mostly them. They use Pattycake productions quite a bit which is owned by Layne (VP’s beatboxer) and Tony a former VP member 🏴
Geoff is a really great producer and performer I really like his solo stuff.
They originally had a make up person, but they decided the first take was too scary, and when they scheduled a reshoot, the makeup artist wasn't available. So Kathy did it.
It's the same for VoicePlay - typically Geoff or Layne does the arranging and the video and almost all of the editing -- more and more lighting is being done by Eli, and Layne has commented that Eli is now doing a lot of editing too. Geoff said that they discuss songs regularly, and when a consensus arises around one it's typically because someone has the vision, and the person with the vision then does what needs doing. All of it. Layne commented separately.... 'it's a lot of work, but when you're finished you have a piece of art.'
I think Patty Cake production is co-owned by Layne
You HAVE to catch Geoff's version of "Far Over the Misty Mountains Cold " from the Hobbit. He takes his subharmonic Bass tones to a while 'nother level! And just as incredible are the harmonies displayed by his 5 octave range. Just a beautiful, beautiful song done only the way he can.
Geoff and VoicePlay really went all in for Halloween this year! Love your reactions so much Danielle!
In Voiceplay ones the lighting Geoff does it together with Eli. Like in Hoist The Colors.
Behind every great man is a great woman! Have a feeling Kathy helps quite a lot. She also has a performance history with Disney World.
Really enjoyed your reaction. I agree this is the only version. That’s why I bought it!
Nahhh the saying is "Behind every great man there's a woman rolling her eyes." LOL which is so true.
I have been bopping to this version of Monster Mash all month. Great reaction!
Same here!
I love that you seemed to have had as much fun as I did listening to Geoffs' version of Monster Mash. I agree that this seems more like the the original than the original. Lol! Great reaction!
Great version, great reaction! You really should react to his version of The Headless Horseman before Halloween
Great Video! Enjoy it very much :D really enjoying the Octoberfest as well :)
Thanks for the shout out! I figured you'd appreciate the entire production! It's absolutely a stunning rendition with all the bells and whistles to make it work perfectly! Great reaction as always! ❤
When he takes her in his arms and starts to dance, look all the way over on the right at 'Frankie'.... 😁
I love that the 4 main moves are taken from the universal monsters poster poses, Frankenstein holding out his arms, the wolf man holding his hands down by his side angled to the camera and howling up at the moon, Dracula hiding behind his cape draped over his arm and the mummy with arms bound to his chest. Just brilliant. Just slightly disappointed in his change to the end that shortened the song.
Yes, Geoff (and Kathy) cover pretty much everything for his solo stuff. Exceptions being audio mixing (he always has Ed Boyer do that), and occasionally makeup effects and a videographer (if it's not a primarily static shoot).
I honestly wonder where he finds all the hours in a day to do all that as well as all the stuff he does for VoicePlay.
Coffee...lots and lots of coffee.
you are so wonderful dear! I am delighted that you found Geoff and Voiceplay!! Great reactions dear!! ♥
I gave Geoff credit for the vocals and the great choreography, but I had no idea he edited it and did everything else as well. Wow. I'm impressed and a feel rather humbled at my puny talents.
Geoff had a choreographer, but for the most part, it's a one man show. He films much of his work at PattyCake's studio too. But arranging, video concept, filming, editing, instrumentation, vocal tracks, sfx, and all but the final audio mix (which is Ed Boyer) is Geoff and his wife Kathy. As I said elsewhere...lots of coffee.
Yeah, Geoff's super-fly. He aranges for himself, for Voiceplay, and if you watch HomeFree's collaboration on "Elvira" with the Oakridge Boys, at the end, they give a shout out to Geoff for doing the (really great!) arangement of that song for them.. So. Yeah. Amazing talent. On so many levels.
This is a fantastic reaction! It’s so good, made me shakin 😀😍 thank you! #subscriptionsquad
I never fail to get a huge smile from this video and sometimes I lol 😃. Where has Geoff been all my life? 🧟♀️. This was a lot of fun, thanks!
Geoff has actually done arrangements for some Home Free songs/videos. He arranged Elvira with the Oak Ridge Boys, for instance.
Could see the chills going up your spine
Their video work just keeps getting better. Like their voices. #subscriptionsquad
Danielle, love your reactions and you have the beautiful smile. Thumbs up emoji times ten.
New Subscriber! Such a great reaction! God bless you. 🙏❤
Since it's Halloween time I recommend Geoffs cover of The Headless Horseman and Vpiceplays cover of This is Halloween, Kidnap The Sandy Claws, and Friends on the Otherside
DMS - hey! I'm also DMS. A very observant viewer remarked on another YT channel that the 4 poses of the chorus boys are Frankenstein monster, Wolfman, Dracula and Mummy - I wish I could take credit for seeing that but I'll pass it along. Also, growing up in the 70s, I thought "BeeGee vocals?" but I figured it out. Great video, keep up the good work!
I love Geoff castellucci!! His low notes give me chills every time!! #subscriptionsquad
If you haven't yet, you need to check out Geoff's 16 Tons cover.
Voiceplay is creating and releasing content obnoxiously frequently for years. At the same time Geoff is also releasing solo content just as frequently. It's not ok! He makes everyone look bad and lazy in comparison. I have difficulty rolling out of bed.
Oh, what a world! Add that to Home Free's quarantine and after output...I stepped out my door to check if it was still raining and saw one of the trees was completely orange. Thanks, Geoff, Tim, Austin, and the rest of the walking miracles.
I've not always been a fan of Geoff's arrangements because he used to overdue showing off his range. Not that there's anything wrong with showing it off, it just takes away from the song to me, He doesn't do that so much anymore and this right here is absolutely perfect! I find myself singing the Monster Mash in my head sometimes days after last hearing it. That's a good song, a good arrangement and good energies to me. He's been doing more of that lately, which I truly appreciate.
I get mesmerized by Wolf Man Geoff dancing, though. It's just so good.
Loved the reaction! Thank you! 🥰🙏
I think probably the worst one for having too many drops to low bass was 'Take me Home Country Roads'. It actually got distracting. It's like in writing if one uses too many exclamation points. They lose their impact. Fortunately there's been more restraint in more recent solos and more harmonies overlaying the really low notes in the ones the whole group does.
@@CrimFerret And Blackbird too, imo. Two songs I normally love, that I don't like Geoff's renditions of, because of this reason. But hey, we all learn as we go along, and we all like different things, and it's ok. It's just my personal preference that it's not overdone, and it might be because I have more of a tenor preference than a bass one.
Geoff is always so much FUN !
New subscriber here … just saw your perfect joyous reaction!
Great cameo with his wife at the end. :)
I love how his voice vibrates when he sings the low notes....mash.
On Geoffs videos whenever there is lighting to be done, Eli does that.
The Monster Mash" which was released in 1962 by Bobby "Borris" Pickett and the Crypt Kickers. U should listen to this one it was in the Billboard 100.
I love this song it's so funny he is Fenomenal
what i love about it is watching the different dances that the 3 backups are doing, each one is doing a different little dance/twist as the song goes on, and you can sit there and study and write down which dance each one is doing. What is that one, the backpack kid that frank is doing near the end ? 7:06 ? lol
I liked the original as a fun Halloween song, this I'll listen to all year long. Geoff has a knack for bringing the best essence of a song forward. Then he adds layers on top in between and underneath. He takes a plain vanilla cone and makes it a super exquisite ice cream sundae for our ears.
Love your reactions and I add my up vote to VoicePlay's " Friends on the other side", it's better than the movie version. As usual. Thanks and Hapoy Halloween!!
This was a wonderful reaction. Thank You very much. A great new version of a classic Halloween song. May I suggest a Halloween themed song called Fright Night. It is a brand new video performed by the Harp Twins. Identical Twins who sing and both play the Harp. These ladies have a number of Halloween related videos. You should check them out.
Yes, like Night on Bald Mountain by Mussorgsky, by the Harp Twins
@@steveeverett1736 Have they recorded Night on Bald Mountain?
@@johnforsyth7987 It's on their Spotify
@@steveeverett1736 Thank you for the information. I wonder why it is not on their You Tube Home Page of listed videos.
Your video is a good video and I think you are a talented person. I have no doubts that you will do well. I have been so complicated and tired, but I thank you for comforting me. thank you. I am amazed at the excellence of your skills and thank you for taking the time to melt my heart warmly because of your sincerity and hard work in watching the video. I looked up and it was your video. In the dawn sky, the star you see from under the sky is so beautiful and I am so thankful that it adds to the enchantment. I can feel how much time and effort you put in. I would like to give you my heartfelt praise and support for your channel to gradually develop into a very large channel. I'm trying to play. I want to play guitar while listening to the sounds of birds touching my heart while flying in the autumn sky. It feels like you put a lot of effort into making a better video. Even in the world, there are many things that can be comforted even in the hardships. A blue landscape is seen by the window today, which gives us a lot of excitement. While holding a guitar in my arms and drinking a hot Americano, I looked out the window and comfortably watched your videos on my small phone. I think I was bewitched by the algorithm. The quality is good and the best. How did your channel have such a wonderful talent that is full of strange charms unique to your videos? You have the power to make it a wonderful and attractive moment.
Dear Danielle Marie,
Thank you for your reaction to this song. I confess that I did not know the original. I then went to see it and ... hm... okay, funny, but ... hm ...
Geoff has created a masterpiece out of this song - so funny, such fantastic and ear pleasing harmonys, so many great details - I love it! And I like it so much better than the original version.
Lots of love from Switzerland 🤗🇨🇭
I seriously tell people to either go listen to the original first, or just never listen to it. Because after hearing what Geoff, or Voiceplay as a whole, do you are ruined for the original.
The original was sung Bobby "Boris" Pickett and he sung it while impersonating Boris Karloff for all the parts except the "Transylvania Twist" part where he impersonated Bela Lugosi
i knew you where going to do this one.....i was waiting for you, Red Danny Bob.....(ps, your shorter hair makes you even that much more bouncy and chipper.....brightens my day)..."oh, you're awake, care to dance"...... Geoff is a playful perfectionist....the only way parody works is if the performance is musically robust .....this one WORKS
Production of Geoff's videos are set at other VP's member's and friend, Layne's studio named Pattycake Productions. Studio does work for others and Walt Disney where studio is located in Orlando
now put Geoff, Avi , Tim Foust all together on this song and hear every speaker in the country go POP at once from the BASS rumble.
I'm not gonna lie to you; I wasn't having a particularly good day today... and then, I saw that smile of yours... it's not pretty, or beautiful: It's simply spectacular.
Wow, nice hairdo coach😍
You are just so dang little and cute...squeezes :) ..Thanks for this. Was awesome.
you have a beautiful smile
For a great reaction video watch Kaz reaction to Geoff’s Way Down video. Don’t know her personally, but her reaction videos for Geoff are an entertaining as Geoff. I love your reaction here too. Especially the jumps with the lightening at the beginning and Kathy’s intro scream.
Being someone like you, I feel like Tim Storms - Lonesome Road.
It has to be said the the "son" was a D1. Never gets old. His wife provided a proper scream as well.
Just not easy
Perhaps impossible
Really unreal
:)
You really need to check out his song/video “The Headless Horseman”, it’s awesome.
The original with the Boris Karloff impersonation was also quite a low voice. It was quite a hit at Halloween right into the 70's
Oh dear, showing my age now. Gotta go, need to find my zimmer frame :0
You can actually see Kelly twitch when Geoff hits the low note on the word son near the beginning of the video.
I hope you react to Peter Hollens this is halloween featuring Geoff and Brian Hull!
If you like Geoff Castellucci, you should check out his covers for "Sixteen Tons", and "Misty Mountains Cold". He absolutely kills those songs.
Okay, I gotta say it. Because I’ve thought about it every single video of yours I’ve watched.
You and Jess from “Austin and Jess vlogs”/“Ladies and lattes” look insanely alike. Almost like you could be twins.
Are you related?
Loving the reaction, as always! Geoff is simply just not human. Crazy talented!
Edit - my phone threw in a random word in the middle of it all. Deleted that.
#SubscriptionSquad Geoff was amazing
That was his wife and she was there the entire time, lol. Go check out his channel out as he has a lot of info on what he does and how he does it both for himself and the group (VoicePlay)
A lot of these groups do most of the editing and production but, Layne discussed sending things off to another specialist for, kind of, final finishing.
They send it to Ed Boyle for final mixing. He also does work for PTX and HF.
Geoff has done unto Monster Mash what David Draiman and Disturbed did unto The Sound of Silence.
If you really want to hear his highs and lows, check out his black bird cover. Also, now officially a subscriber :-)
YOU NEED TO WATCH, "I SEE FIRE" AND VOICE PLAYS , "VALHALLA CALLING "
you need to react to high and dry from radiohead cover by geoff it is mind blowing!!
you need to watch the credits, he does get additional help
If you mean the scrolling credits at the end of the video, those are his patrons. The production credits are all in the video description box (that's where she was reading from)
It is Geoff, Kathy and a few friends.
This single is available to buy o. iTunes
Review 4th impacts rendition of Queens Bohemian Rhapsody. U wont even believe what they did to that song!!
By the way i love the hair!! 🙈❤️
Not quite a one-man show. He’s supported by his wife (can you find her before she explodes on scene) and the makeup artist is top-notch. Unfortunately there was an issue with the Wolfman segment and there wasn’t time to redo the Wolfman makeup so he used the costume. I just wonder if the flea-scratching was added to hint who he was or if it was included in the original portion. His work is brilliant, enticing, exciting and just plain fun.
Just found your channel by searching anyone reacting to this Musical genius. Geoff recently released Far Over the Misty Mountain. From the Hobit Movie. If you haven't seen it yet you should check it out. 🤯🤯🤯. Love your videos by the way. Subbed. 😁
You should look at blackbird
Voice Play, has a bunch of new stuff out you have to check out.
Did you catch "Monster" Geoff doing the floss dance towards the end?
You have to see Geoff and his cover of Ghost Riders in the Sky
Maybe all the rest but the writing of the song is not from him but from bobby Bekett who wrote the original sang in the 60's
♥️😊😍🥰❤️🇨🇿
Pretty sure that was a "Wilhelmina" scream, but I may be mistaken.
I hate Monster Mash with a passion but I love this version of it.
Hello Danielle.. love your reaction videos....was wondering if you would do a reaction video to Voiceplays cover of Man in the mirror featuring Deejay Young...wanna hear your thoughts on it...thanks your awesome.
Not about the music, but I love the short hair!
its funny how many girls that hear him hit that E1 get all hot and bothered and look at him like" i will have your babies" lol
Please try to react on "Binhi" by Arthur Nery
If you would like to react to a song, I recommend the artist Aesthetic Perfection with the song Gods & Gold
Can you please react to caloy quemada singing
The original was by Bobby Pickett, you can see it here: ruclips.net/video/vNuVifA7DSU/видео.html
He and Kathy do most of the stuff for his channel.
Check out the small town titans version….. be prepared…
Better than the original so many years ago.
