When you are die cutting dies like the film strip put the die at a slight angle instead of straight across the end of the plate, it will go through smoother and not make as much noise.

I swear, I hear every crafter talk about how much washi they have and how they never use it. I myself have like three (overflowing) big containers of it.
I will say, the washi tape does work similarly to mint tape BUT sometimes the washi will leave sticky residue on my paper & I don't get that with the mint tape. So just be careful & maybe do a little test with the one you want to use. I also think the mint tape holds up better for reusing if that matters to you.
