- Here's my 5th cover of an Al Stewart's song. It wasn't the easiest one I made mainly because of the low key for my avarage range, and... I'm a woman. I've always loved this song, kinda "ghostly" and misterious. I love the arrangemements and always been in love with Tim Renwick's solo! Here all the instruments have been played by the talented LUCAS BALLESTEROS and I think he did an amazing job, specially with this epic solo.
The video was a challenge too, 'cause I decided to overlay an original video by Al singing OSB live in Capitol Theater in 1978! You'll see Adam Yurman here playing, but you hear Lucas Ballesteros. It was pretty hard to sync and I coldn't do better than this... seing Al back then, singing on top of my version, it's pretty touching for me.. "IT SEEMS TO ME AS THOUGH I'VE BEEN UPON THIS STAGE BEFORE"... !
This is simply a magic and evocative song, and hope you like what you hear and see.

Michela, I just listened to your version of this Song on my car system, the Sound Engineering is outstanding. I could hear the bass part clearly and it was genius, simple but effective.

Very well done Miky and Lucas ! Miky, I know you can do sparks in a low tone too, having listened to your Suzanne Vega covers and such. Great playing by Lucas too, indeed. Oh, how many artists have walked stages and how many persons have walked around during performances ... I understand why AL doubts we may in fact be all reincarnations of people who have done that before us and / or there are ghosts of those ancestors while we perform. Also, our more particular nights have been already lived by past people ... the baptism of the stage, or the night when we have a lump in the throat ... so it's a same old story coming round again ... and it's awesome we keep these actions alive. Our personal myths may be somewhere in the audience listening to us and bringing good luck, also ... who really can tell ... It's part of the magic of singing and playing. Wow, this is wonderful, Michela! Also one of my Al Stewart favorites, your version is very accurate and true to the original. It must have been a challenge to sing in a lower register, but you sound great! And Lucas’ solo is terrific, true to the original, but with an edgier style to each note, very impressive! Thank you Mark! Yes, it wasn't the easiest job because of the things you have mentioned, mainly the low register. I've heard this from Lucas a little while ago and I loved it. You know... I am very picky, and if it wasn't so well done I wouldn't have worked on it. I left the original key also not to change anything in the sounds I had.

Hi War! This is what I like the most about this song.. it is very haunting! A little bit like in "Optical Illusion", made with Lucas, as well. Well, thank you. I think few notes are still low for me, but, as I wrote before, I decided to leave it as Lucas sent it to me. At a certain point I thought to raise one full key and re-sing it all over again, but I didn't. I think it's acceptable anyway. Thank you War! Hope everything is well with you! :-)

Yes. This is a great song, specially the amazing guitar work, which seems so on point, and so well played. Ever since, I have been big fan of Tim Renwick as well as all the musicians on the album, they all deserve credit.

So da quanto lavori a questa cover. Beh, ne hai fatta una versione a dir poco perfetta! La tua voce è meravigliosa, anche se tu dici che è bassa, a me pare perfetta! Lucas ha riprodotto un brano, a mio parere, difficilissimo. Il suo assolo è meraviglioso. E il video??? Che meravigliosa idea quella di mettere Al originale di 40 anni fa insieme alla tua voce. Come dici tu, rende il tutto ancora più emozionante, e sicuramente rende l'idea di "un palco prima", del senso di dejà vu, di reincarnazione... bellissimo! Non ho parole, davvero!
