So happy to see another video on the E28 M5. I bought mine about 6 months ago, and have never driven a better car in my life. In fact, I drove it 3000 miles in 4 days from the East coast to the West coast without a single issue and could cruise at triple digits for hours on end, 32 years later. Simply one of the best cars ever made. Thank you!

I fell in love with BMW because of 2 models. E30 and E28. There is something special about these cars. I still prefer these cars to the latest beemers. I love everything about them; the design, the interior, mainly the instrument cluster.
If it wasn’t for ULEZ I’d still look to buy one of these cars.
I have had one E30, one tii and several E28 including two is cars, my current DD is an '88 is, Mark D chip and open exhaust, regular LSD. I will never sell it; in fact I just did H&R and B8's.
That was a robust Straight 6! That ripping fabric exhaust and direct manual shift. Remember these literally drove flat out well over 100mph+ on the Autobahn for thousands of miles - not like Japanese or American cars....
Exactly. That's what it was made for and it's still a car that commands respect on the Autobahn :-)
I had a middle spec E28 back in the day and it was the best sedan I've ever driven

Thanks mate. It's a favourite of ours too. And it was an absolute pleasure to be able to drive it. It's a completely different experience from our E39 M5 camera car, but just as thrilling.

You said it. The perfect car for this kind of thing (apart from the fuel consumption). We've got a great line bunch of films coming and hoping to have the next one out around mid-September. Then every 2/3 weeks after that.
The E28 M5 is the best version of the BMW M5 ever made. They got it right the first time.
We tend to agree with that. Although the E39 wasn't bad either
Thhe best looking 4 door sports sedan BMW made IMO. Performance and simplicity was awesome as well for that era.

You're a lucky guy! Sounds great. Especially that it's got a good history - that's really important with these. Think about getting the bumpers to Euro spec, as we reckon that looks better.
@@BrightsideMedia against the common opinion, I love the US bumpers when they are tucked. I guess the euro bumpers don’t really do it for me🤷

The ultimate driving machine... BMW!!!
Not the fastest or the flashiest of cars but certainly one of the coolest. Manual gearbox, rwd, sweet straight six and room for friends, what more could you want? Besides it’s always more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow. I’d savour the prospect of driving this over any Ferrari.
Euro e28 M5 !!! THE only one to own (versus US spec e28 M5...) Great video on a legend !

The true M car. Some say it was the E30 M3; nah. That thing, for its price, was outmatched by its little cousin. The e28 M5, however, that was/is a car. And the hood opened properly :)

Great car...but was it really the first supersaloon? Wasn't there a certain 300SEL6.3...?
Not sure about the Benz. That was a sixties luxury limousine (it had air suspension!) with a very large engine. The M5 was designed to be good in the corners too.
