Wow what a great achievement and teamwork, very inspiring for women to get involved, would love to see more with Lizzie and Jo, PS I've seen Lizzie E race so Jo must be amazing on the bike, go ladies :)
Great video! Racing competitors instead of numbers is definitely the way to go (especially with the swim getting cancelled). My friends and I keep building relays to challenge the triathletes with single sport athletes and it is always great fun although I'll be on the receiving end this year as I switched from running to racing full triathlons. :)
Best video ever of GTN. Too bad the swim was canceled but you should definitely do another one but do it here in the US. We would love to come and watch....
Let's set a good example for the youngsters: T1 chip exchange is handled by the runner, T2 chip is handled by the (would be) swimmer. Can't be having that nervous fumbling around given that transition is a relay's best friend. Fun video overall, loved the energy.
Great attempt and I remember when we compete with Lizy last IM Tourkey and I wondered who is this super girl on the bike? (non drafting like others she did cource with average 40+ km/h) wow, she is definitely like a pro
Too cold. Probably high risk of hypothermia for the competitors. It was initially reduced to a single 750m lap to reduce the time in the water, but apparently it got even colder, so they went with plan C and switched it to the short run.
#gtncoachescorner - I'm tackling my first Sprint Triathlon in June, and am considering booking another this summer to keep my momentum going. Is there an optimum delay between triathlons recuperate? Is 10 weeks between races too soon for a newb?:) Massive thanks!!
This canceling swims needs to stop - it's nonsense. It's triathlon for god's sake. It's like to say footballers that they cannot run because it's raining and they can slip.
Footballers are very unlikely to die from slipping on wet grass though. Every year there are deaths in triathlon swims - there’s already been one this year at IM Galveston 70.3. It’s frustrating and disappointing for all when swims are cancelled/shortened, but I understand why organisers put safety first.
As the saying goes... if you want to do an ironman, but don't like the swim, just enter one with a sea swim. It'll more than likely be shortened or cancelled. Seems to be an annoying trend withing middle and long distance races.
Salou 2022 . Probably the worst organised tri I've ever done. The cut off was applied from the first start wave, so those of us allocated the latest start wave had the shortest time, ie the age group women. Some missed the cut off and were pulled off the bike course and DQ'd. This should be illegal; all competitors should have the same cut off. Lots of the crew left the aid stations and wrist band station empty. They did the presentations before they had the results, so some people missed out. I only got mine coz I stood my ground and demanded it. I contacted #challengesalou afterwards. They said they had passed my comments to the Race Director and he would reply. Of course he didn't. A disgrace to the challenge family.
Do you think we can complete a Sub-8 Ironman Relay?
Absolutely ;)
You girls can do anything!
Hell yeah
Love this video. All three of you ladies smashed it, we'll done!
Thanks so much!

Jo! What mental composure! That early morning stress would destroy most.
Great video!

Thanks Eli! We'll keep an eye for any opportunities :)
Well done to one and all, you adapted and overcome those challenges.
Awesome job ladies!!

It’s a good thing Heather has been doing lots of run training over the last few years 💪💪💪
Absolutely!!
😊😊😊😊😊Awesome job you all!
Thank you! We're glad you enjoyed!
Congratulations!
I so much wanted to jump in and hand over my front wheel... it is only alloy but deep section and has 25 tubeless tires on it though ^^'
Great performance andr result!
I wonder if the bike suit was TT-specific or a tri suit? What make was it (NoPrinz, I suppose)?
Think it was a custom NoPinz TT suit, yes.
Did it change to a Duathlon last minute?
why was the swim canceled..weather looks great

Once again, heather doing all the work! The guys are going to have to step up.
👀
Did Jo use road shoes or tri shoes for the bike leg as she was all ready for the ride?
I would have thought road shoes which are usually stiffer
result!
Awesome performance ladies. 👍🙏. what was the cycling distance?
56 miles/90k
@@gourami7 thanx for the info 🙏
Hey guys Chris froom here, I just want to share one of my most favourite products..
Hey guys, how about doing a episode of Ironman African Championships results ? 🤜🏻
Great video but probably shouldn't be using 70.3 in reference to a Challenge event as it's trademarked by Ironman, for all their sins.
I don't understand why the swim was canceled, the sea and the weather on the video seem to be great.
It was cancelled because air temperature was +3° and water temperature 13° which is below the limit for a triathlon swim
This canceling swims needs to stop - it's nonsense. It's triathlon for god's sake. It's like to say footballers that they cannot run because it's raining and they can slip.
Yea it sucks. And they never give partial refunds either despite literally getting a lesser "product" than what you purchased.
Footballers are very unlikely to die from slipping on wet grass though. Every year there are deaths in triathlon swims - there’s already been one this year at IM Galveston 70.3. It’s frustrating and disappointing for all when swims are cancelled/shortened, but I understand why organisers put safety first.
It's one of the reasons I can't be bothered racing as I enjoy the swim and just becomes a draft fest on the bike
@@katewalsh9193 Swim is one of the triathlon's three disciplines. No swim, no race. No ride, no race. No run, no race. No race - money back. Simple.
