So I am sitting at my real table at my real computer playing an online multiplayer game simulating a virtual gaming table with a virtual tablet that acesses the real internet... Those are crazy times we live in xD
Nothing like checking videos inside the game, or putting some music for ambience.
@@TheRatedOniChannel nothing like watching this video in the game
Kind of like how they built a real phone inside Minecraft. This still blows me away: ruclips.net/video/IdlZRhKmWJY/видео.html
Actually instead of hitting "additive load" and spawning everything in, you can select expand and it will show you a list of what comes in the game you're looking at. Then you can just select what you're looking for without having to spawn in everything and then rummage through it all for that one thing. :)
Yo that's actually SO useful, thanks!
@@metallsnubben you bet! I recommend playing with the game for a while, there are so many tiny controls that can make life so much easier. You can use alt when you mouse over small cards/tokens to zoom in (I've actually made tiny rulebooks that my players can thumb through for reference without having to leave the game), if you can't find the models you like, you can import a picture on a custom token. There is so much you can do, their video is a great basic introduction but it could in reality be a whole series because this game has so much you can learn to do!
Love you
Another great tip: While hovering over a deck, press a number (like, 5)...and that many cards will be dealt to your hand. Super easy.
Also, i know people are likely on discord or zoom, but there is pretty nice team chat functionality.
Something that I found very useful is the magnifier (M key): it allows you to zoom in any part of the table without having to zoom everything in. Beyond reading, it'ss massively helpful to preciselymove around pieces.
Having a mouse with extra buttons allows you to tie it to one and peek seamlessly at any time!
TTS saved my Chronicles of Darkness campaign from dying during COVID and we have stayed exclusively online because of the crazy convenience it offers. Thank you for this video. I hope it helps others like it helped me.
A small tip that I find to be more useful than some realise.
Vector drawing for on the fly explanations or visual declarations of how you're moving pieces prevents so many arguments because some people may be looking at some other window or distracted.
Huge help. Thank you for covering TTS on steam. I've been torn in regards to purchasing to use as a D&D VTT. I recently watched a Battletech TTS stream recently that got my interest peaked, this vid just sealed the deal I think. Thanks much!
A guide that would be useful any time, but especially right now.
Thank you for this useful guide
Highly recommend the "The Captain is Dead" DLC. I've played a few rounds of it with friends and found it to be a really well done virtual port of the game. (Which is a fantastic game regardless)
Currently working on digitizing 1.5 ed of a tabletop RPG I'm writing. This tutorial was absolutely vital to my progress

Ah yes, my favourite board games, Spoon and Space Jam VHS
Now how do we watch said VHS lol
One of the best TTS tutorials I've seen
Zooming in with + and - isn't a standard control. For some reason the default controls don't include any zooming by keyboard (as we discovered last night when one person didn't have a working mouse wheel!). You need to set keyboard controls in configurations.
I'll add that the standard control for +/- is to enlarge/reduce the item you're hovering over which can be a very useful feature. I make custom tokens for things using this and sometimes resize things to make room.
Wonderful tips! This needs to be made into a Steam Guide!
Very useful tips. Thank you.
Nice way of combining handy tips into a sort of review 👍
Genuinely helpful, hopefully more guides on tabletop in the future?
Thank you for the tips! I noticed during the introduction you showed Mancala. How do you drop one object at a time while still holding onto the rest?
Thank you!!! Incredibly useful!
thanks for making this not so glamorous but very useful video!!! ps. that wheels and Johnny puzzle is 👌
Thank you, very comprehensive.
Thanks for a very helpful video!
Perfect video. Top marks!
Great tutorial. Thanks
Now this is the video I needed!
Thanks for the video.
Thanks; very helpful.
Hey, thanks for this video, which is really useful for me and my friends! One note though, for me the music on the number cards introducing each section is far too loud. I have to turn the volume way up to hear Wheels speaking, and then rush to turn it down when the music comes in.
I'll need to remember the PiP extra camera view.
What's that tune in the background, sounds funky
Is the last game featured a look at whats to come?
7:06 Need to get Gav Murphy on this ASAP
When I open tabletop simulator it give me the option to create or join a game. I want to start off playing solo games but nowhere on tabletop simulator does that option exist?
Can you play on Steam through a web browser or do you have to download it?
Is there a way to get rid of the color zones? Like not giving the option to the players to pick that especific color?
Crokinole! 😍
Incredibly timely Wheels- I think I'll check this out on Steam right now. However, only drawback to this is that you didn't mention a price (although I imagine it's quite reasonable...).
There's a link in the description so you can check the current price. Looks like $19.99 U.S., $60 for a four pack as I type this. Not a bad deal, might get better with a Steam Sale. Put it on your Steam Wishlist to get an email if/when it goes on sale.
Yes, def check during the Lunar New Year, Valentines Day, Summer Sale, Christmas sales...
And check humblebundle.com. (they have bundles of games that you pay as much as you want and it goes to support charities (can set your own charity to donate to)/the parent company/humble themselves
I got a bundle of SEGA games (Total War Games, Company of Heros, Warhammer 40k games) priced at about US$379, for US$12
And the store has a bunch of games including steam and Nintendo Switch games. Sometimes at super cheap depending on the sale
You can sometimes get games for super cheap as well
I've been dying to play Nemesis, but that price tag is wretched, the play time is eternal, and I don't have any friends who like board games enough...
Turns out it's a free add-on for this, so... Yeah, I was sold instantly.
this is actually more useful than the video put out by the devs lol
Great work Wheels! I'm still not sure if I'm ready to make the investment in TTS, but if/when I do, I'll know where to come for advice!
Is it possible to have multiplayer where only the player themselves see what cards they hold? picture a game of poker
Official Dicebreaker jigsaw when?
How do you do the Picture in Picture
I never liked the idea of having to use WASD to move around and wanted to do it with the mouse. I then discovered that
if you hold down the middle mouse button/scroll wheel you can move your view around the board.
I only had TTS on my Macbook and had to use the track pad and keys. When I discovered mouse controls I was so relieved!!!
so to play workshop games like dead of winter you first have to have tabletop simulator downloaded?
Of course.
Did you cut out section 4 for some reason after uploading the video?
Seems to be playing fine for me! What are you seeing when tip number 4 starts?
I can't find a clear answer: Do the people I invite to play a custom game (RPG) need to own a copy of TableTop Simulator or can they use a client version?
As far as we're aware you'll need to each own a copy to play online together. Either that or stream your copy to something like Discord so each other player can see
this video should be included with the purchase of the sim lol
How do you stop mass chaos when 8 full grown adults are playing tho?
I couldn't even get past step one. The opening screen doesn't start the game.
This video starts with the game having already been started... but when you install it from Steam, that isn't what comes up when you first run it.
does the tablet save search history if you know what i mean😏
11:49
That's some incredibly poor opening moves...
Another useful tip: There are Discord servers specifically for Tabletop Simulator (one is official) and you can join these servers and get pinged for games that people want to run. The game itself also has a chat room you can use in the main menu. You can't talk yourself out of buying it because there's nobody to play with. There's plenty. (My apologies to your wallet. You'll thank me later.)
Pressing F will not just show respect but also flip cards.
If I click on Poker, I dont get the table. Only cards and a lot of chips.
I don't like this one, I thought you could click and play..
Not just get a table and items, I could do that at home for free..
...thats the point of this game....things u can do at home but on line..
I award you “dumbest comment I’ve read today”.
Congratulations!
Useless guide on windows laptop. Hate, hate, hate tabletop simulator. Garbage. Bought this game in steam and this guide starts out on page that is not available. Grrrrrrr. Don't walk in front of my car!
Lol
Starting your video with a lecture in morality and responsibility? No thanks!
You're an entertainer - a very low level one at that. Stick to entertaining, not being the morality police.
Elephant in the room - this game is absolute trash.
