Great overview of the game, thanks for taking the time to put this together!
This video finally helped me to understand the step-by-step process for setup and completing my first scenario. Thank you so much!
Absolutely fantastic tutorial for anything and everything associated with the mod!
Thank you very much for this.
Matt, I just started playing this game last year and found your instructional videos. I wanted to thank you so much for making these and updating them as in the times of the pandemic it is great to still be able to play from home.
I've shared your videos with so many others.
You're welcome! So glad you've found the videos useful and thanks for sharing.
Excellent guide
Both video and mod are amazing.
Amazing guide
Great video! Might I suggest including reference to hotkeys for smoother play? Such as pressing L for lock functionality and number keys for changing states.
loved the video
The gold standard for guides in general I guess. Do you do this sort of thing for a living?
Yes, actually. I work in academic media production.
@@smeeth123 It really shows.
really great guid ;)
Thanks! Really great mod!
Loved your mod so incredibly detailed and smooth. I was curious if you have a source for the playlist because I love the music but I have no idea where its from?
Fantastic guide, thanks for the time and effort. Quick question about the random side scenarios you get from treasure chests. Where do they go? After I opened one the treasure card just disappeared?
The random side scenario deck is not scripted and doesn’t get dealt automatically in any circumstance. If you’re talking about cards from the treasure deck, they appear to the left of the main play area when you click on the treasure number on a treasure tile. If you have the scenario book or something in that area, it might be obscuring them.
Great video ! I’m playing as the brute and I was wondering if there was any way to track retaliate and shield other than just a mental note of it
Yep, just have to keep track in whatever way makes sense to you.
Thanks a lot for this, we started playing before pandemic, and this has helped our party for keeping interested in the game in spite of social distance.
One question though, is there some option to have a list of elements to become strong at the end of one's turn?
We have an elementalist in our group and specially when fighting against demons, we are always writing down what new elements will be added at the end of a turn so we don't miss anything. Maybe like an extra option in the player's interface?
Not that I know of. You could make that feature request to the devs. Personally I just move elements to strong as soon as I use the ability that generates them. I find that rarely creates any rule breaking situations as long as you remember which elements you infused during your current turn and don’t use them with other abilities. Otherwise I tend to forget to do infusions if I wait until the end of the turn.
Amazing vid! Is there a way to track a summon's health though?
I suggest either the damage tokens form inside the Gloomhaven box, or the counters from the TTS objects>components menu
God this is AWESOME. I wish EVERY major TTS game had one of these! I would play it SOOOOO much more if they did.
Glad like you liked the video! While this mod is still great, these days I've been playing the Gloomhaven Enhanced mod, which I also recommend you check out! It uses Fantasy Setup as a base, and builds and expands upon it greatly with lots of great quality of life improvements. steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2891465199&searchtext=gloomhaven+enhanced
Thank you.
Is there any way to make round tracker move on it's own? I always forget, and it's important for some scenarios.
Great guide, but I am wondering how to make sure your Character is at the right HP? I have set level correctly and I have even tried on different player mats. But My 3spears (solo scenario) is only ever at 10 HP... I've had this problem in the past too. Any ideas?
Check 03:45
Quick question! I want to play solo, so controlling 2 characters. The game says to add +1 to the monster level, during the setup of a scenario the game looks at the current level to set up the monsters. Should I just play on hard and deduct the money/experience I shouldn't get (since that should be as normal when playing solo) or is there a better way?
There's a notebook option to accommodate this, check out 29:47
@@smeeth123 Nice! But what if you're playing "Very Hard" difficulty?
You can remove 3D models of course, that would be pretty useless option if you couldn't :) Just pay attention when object's name will show up when hovering over it and then right click as with every other object to unlock or delete. Difference is that interaction area might not be exactly the same as visible area. With traps go to the centre of the object, with tables for example, on both sides, but not in the centre, and so on.
Anyone know how to change the colours assigned to each player in tabletop simulator?
link for the bento box organizers at 28:56?
How do you play solo mode? The other player cards are still hidden for me. :(
How do you remove monsters from the initiative tracker once defeated? Had a scenario where a Inox guard who was only in the first part kept drawing ability cards. Just delete the sheet?
Ability cards and therefore initiative should only activate for monsters that have a least one of that type on the board. As long as you are using the “defeat”function to kill monsters, it should solve the problem.
@@smeeth123 Ah, we moved the monster to the side of the map. Not actually using the defeat function. Thanks @Matt
Roll Fizzlebeef!
how does one level up in a way where the character 3d model's health bar size increases?
No way to increase the actual size of the health bar as far as I know, but refer to 3:45 for instructions on how to increase character max HP
What is the best way to simulate a short rest?
No real simulation necessary. At the end of a round, shuffle your discard, draw 1 card and lose it. Or take 1 damage and lose a different random card.
I cant seem to press any button like add player or +/- on the party sheet, I can type in the textboxes tho. any solution?
Have you tried turning it on and off again?
me neither. it's completely non responsive...
@@smeeth123 restarting tts did help though
When opening a door the initiative tracker doesn't seem to update for me but think I have seen others do it. What am I doing wrong?
There’s no automatic initiative update when you open doors. You’ll need to manually draw ability cards (using the draw button) for any new monsters in the new room
@@smeeth123 Youre the best thanks!
The problem I ran into is that it did not generate an enemy card for the new monster (in the case of S1 the Archer) It placed the archer as appropriate for the number of characters but still only shows the stats for the guards.
Super basic question here: After I finish scenario 1 do I need to do anything special to save the state of the game or will it boot up from wherever I leave off next time?
Took me a long time to figure out the answer to this question after losing hours of set up work on a server because I didn't save... you need to save using the table top simulator "games" menu. Click on "Games" in the top left corner of the screen, then click on "Save and Load" on the bottom left. Then, the first time, you click the green "save game" button on the top right and name your save file. Then in the future when you create a server, that same "Games" menu will pop up and instead of clicking on the "workshop" gloomhaven thing you did the first time, you select your save state from the "save and load" menu and select load.
@@Treriserp wow thanks for this, I was thinking I would have to save everything as an object to spawn in every session, like transferring to a new version.
how to call to summoned creature
So, there is one thing I didn't see.... how do you keep track of a summon HP? manually?
Yep, manually. You can use the damage token tracker in the Gloomhaven box or a counter from the components menu.
@@smeeth123 okay, thanks =D
Hi, what do you do to show that one of your players has been exhausted, other than removing them. 'Cause when removing a player and loading them back up it always get a bit glitchy for me. Thank you for the great mod!
So do individual monsters use a modifier? Or do all of them just use the one drawn at the start of every round?
quick question is it possible to play a solo game using this version? just curious
Hah... I never played Gloomhaven but I would like to. I've heard how complicated/time consuming setup takes. This version seems worse in different ways! It probably does a lot of the setup for you automatically, but then you have to remember where all these things are and how they work. 😂
I feel like to play this, a reference guide for the actual game would be necessary. Is there any way I can get the "manual" for the game?
Like these "Infinite boxes", is that part of the game proper or a part of this TTS implementation?
Learning the UI seems more difficult than .. well, I dunno.
@@mercster Check the description for my favorite video guide on learning to play the physical game. The Gloomhaven Rule book is available online for free in a number of formats, just Google it.
@@mercster And no, unless you have somehow conjured a wormhole that summons infinite tokens, infinity boxes do not exist in the real game. :-)
