Greg I’ve always appreciated how your completely honest with when parts are needed. A lot of people try to sell someone something they don’t necessarily need. Keep on keeping on dude! Been a fan of almost 4 years!
The OG fans know Mr. Alberalla loves his buddy Top Side Creeper🤘🏻🤘🏻 Especially all the times the T Creeper took over when No Boost Banaduce couldn’t make it 🤪
I just installed head studs on my 300,000+ mile 12 valve running a vgt he351ve.. No issues yet and I tow for a living up to 26,000 pounds gross weight. Those vgt turbos create a TON of pressure and it's still kicking. 18 degrees of timing, 0 fuel plate, afc tuning, 5" exhaust, etc.. I did the one on one method.
I did my head studs one at a time at around 200k and I'm almost at 300k now and no problems. I'm also not super high HP just a 600HP 07 5.9 with stock appearing 63/67 turbo and bigger injectors.
That’s really good to hear man! I’m thinking about studding my 06 5.9 with 200k too as well. 625s, pushrods, valve springs, s464 w/ stock fuel and built trans and see how long that set up will last!
You should stick a billet Valve body and trans tuning on the stock 68rfe in that truck, I know you have full intentions to go all out with power on the truck but it would be very interesting to see how much the low mile stock transmission will take on just a VB and tuning? 🤔
Studded my 2012 2500 onr by one at 170k. I'm at 195k now and its doing great. It was the first thing I did to the truck. Cheap insurance if you ask me. Also did a 6.0 powerstroke with the same method a few years ago. All that did was add $5k to my asking price for it though. Lol
Would be curious on the effect of head studs and cylinder wear. More torque on the head studs actually stretches the cylinders more on a gas engine. Curious if the same effect happens on a diesel
For your CCV delete do you leave in OEM filter? I’ve watched some cut out media as I did. Had oil blow out of filter on hard pull. Put a catch can on and solved that issue.
There is so many videos RUclips of this. Find TDC with both #1 rockers loose. Set the valves that is says online. Rotate 360 degrees so both #6 are loose. Set the remaining valves.
@@stephenmathews1629 thank you will do! I've seen a couple but they were crappy quality and terrible direction and I hate posting to facebook groups so this is my general go to. thanks!
How long, on average should it take to replace just those head studs? And if I replace them now, but I was to take te head off to do other work, do I have to replace them again?
Need more like this on the 4th gens. Can you do one showing the G56 with installing a new south bend clutch with providing recommendations on the type of clutch to use.
im aiming for about 650-700 on my 17 and my buddy thats going to help me said he would just do the push rods but not springs when we do the headstuds... the plan is trans stuff and head studs now and then a second gen 467 swap soon...
Greg I agree with you 100% on the top side creep anyway as much as you guys do that kind of work kneeling down on stuff sooner or later somethings going to get broken like a grill or something like that you know and it’s hard on your knees you know further than the occasional guy who does it on his own vehicle once in a while no big deal and you’re also right about the harp studs I listen to our Waze at thoroughbred diesel he said and he had an art guy there so you can re-torque them things as many times you want all right have a good day it’s six in a row jim
Me personally if there is no evidence of a failing head gasket I'd do studs buttt with that I tell people u can still get a bad head gasket with studs just cause the gasket is older and is more prone to failing. To each is own and every truck will be different.
Find a two-wheel drive gas excursion 67 swap it and all the mounting hardware for the two wheel drive suspension is the same as the four-wheel drive none leaf spring suspension so you can put a newer Ford suspension and have better steering on an excursion for Ali
Get her a 2021 Durango r/t or if you got the funds do like I did and get her a 2021 Durango srt that’s what my wife dd’s it’s a great mommy car and I enjoy driving it as well her 2020 r/t was a freaking turtle or atleast it felt like it. But they are grade comfortable driving SUV’s with tons of room.
And I done my studs and all on my 2020 at 6k miles I also never gave the truck more then 3/4 throttle those 6k miles. I feel it’s all on how the truck is treated and mileage. But I did do a re torque 3 to be exact 500,2500,5000 and they moved but I’m also making alittle over 800rwhp kinda with ham building my dd only about 31,500 in aftermarket parts at this point. Building a 2020 Cummins ain’t cheap boys. But she drives like a stock truck with all the power one could want and the wife can take too get groceries no problem or worry.
She needs a trackhawk and can tell you've been hitting the gym ....looking slimmer and your arms are more defined.... No homo.....still feel gay saying your arms look more defined but srsly no homo
Told you last year Allie needs a Durango hellcat. Still some available out there. That would be sweet!

6.7’s are more prone bc the space between the cylinder and coolant jacket is smaller
My 12v ran 700+ on stock head studs. And still going today, 20 degree’s of timing as well, 5x16s and a HX52

That rental company on that scissor lift is in my home town! Small world.
Great! Was waiting for a shop update. Awesome job!!!
Greg_a’s uploads are always Finger Lickin Gooood!!!!! 💯💯💯🤘🏻🤘🏻🤪
I was curious if you set your valves at 10 and 20 still cause 6.7's changed the lash I personally still set mine at 10 and 20 also
Reminds me of the old Johnny sendit days back in nj,lol
Back in the pap-scrap days!
I just my studs one my truck that has 297k and I did them one at a time lol. But also I know I didn't have a problem before hand.

Get allie a track hawk… just hide the Red key 😅😭 and I assume greg took the dually to the “gym” instead of finishing the ‘15 👀 lol
Greg you should get a bmw 35d for the new mom mobile only inline 6 diesel in an suv

do a video on how to set valve lash please !! this would help a ton!! (6.7 cummins)

Hey have a question the crank case filter how often do you change it and can you delete
The statement we all knew was coming "so what should we get Ali to daily drive now?"
I may have missed it it previous videos, who did you use for tuning? I’m using an mm3 tuner but am thinking of changing to ezlynk
I see fleece stopped offering the exhaust brake who you going to use now Greg

How many more headstud videos are you going to do
Either a hellcat Durango or an srt Durango
Get Allie a powerstroke diesel excursion

I’ve been out of the Greg A loop for a few months it look like Greg is sliming down getting fit! Am I missing something??
What about 2019 ram no leaks with 150k would be OK to do it like you just did it a daily
Diesel Rubicon or Mojave . Hellcat Durango would be neat also.
Any chance you would do a video on converting a dual radiator truck from 13-14 to a single radiator? I really want to simplify my cooling system
The new Mom mobile needs to be a CTS-V to compete with Michaels vette 👌🏼
Cts-v wagon on e85 would be sweet
Topside creepers are the best.
Hey Greg I'm sure you've mentioned this before but what stand pipe kit do you think is the best, mine is a little leaky if you catch my drift.
Hey, you remind me of someone I worked with did you ever work or live in southern California?
Mans reefing on that torque wrench lol
new shop goofin
Did you get your intake horn custom powder coated. Or did you order it special. Thanks!

Mom mobile needs to be a grand wagoneer
Is the mikes 3500 still for sale
Ok so I love this Vid but you dont really say what mileage you cant do this at safely and why not high mileage and what are the affects???
