OK. Now that I've watched this thing and fangirled over it, Kinosaki was one of the highlights of our stay. I wish we could have stayed longer. We stayed at Yammamotoya and the staff were great and the Kaiseki dinner there was insanely good(the Chawanmushi there was it's own incredible experience, eggs in general in japan.) The food, the beer, the souvenir shops, the lovely people, the food again. I cannot express how much I fell in love with this little town and want to go back for a visit. My wife and I consistently talk about going back to the Kansai region, especially Kyoto and Kinosaki which were our favorite places.

OH MY GOSH! What a beautiful town! I have so many fond memories of traveling all over with my family, and staying at many different ryokans. I’ve always told Josh, that staying at a ryokan or one or two, is A MUST when visiting Japan. Kinosaki onsen is so nice, because not only is the town stunning, it’s not super packed with a ton of tourists. I’ve always loved being able to run around in the ryokan’s yukata and not be judged in public. I still have one that I purchased from the ryokan that we stayed at-over 30 years ago. Thank you for taking us on yet another beautiful (bucket list) adventure. Your dinner looked amazing! I cannot wait to watch the TabiEats street food adventure! Take care! ❤

I've been to Kinosaki before and it was awesome. My Ryokan came with the pass for all the bathouses already included, so I hopped through all that were open those days. My recommendation is to start your visit off by paying respects at the Onsenji temple on the mountaintop, though - there's a ropeway that will take you all the way up, and the view from the top is amazing! Plus the priestess seemed super happy to receive a foreign visitor, and they have an English printout with all the interesting information.
