- The Netflix live action Avatar The Last Airbender just gave us a new reveal with a great clip showcasing Aang and Appa hugging it out in Avatar fashion! On top of that we got some other new clips, show details and marketing around it to discuss. We are going to break it all down in this video! Enjoy!
Avatar: The Last Airbender is an upcoming American adventure fantasy television series. It is a live-action adaptation of the animated television series of the same name (2005-2008). The series is scheduled for a 2024 premiere on Netflix and will consist of eight 1-hour-long episodes.

I was shocked when I saw that in the comments under the clip with Aang and Appa, people wrote that Aang was too serious and he didn't have childishness lol

They’ve spent so much time hating on the show that now that we’re seeing how great it is, they want to save face and double down. They would rather look foolish than admit they were incorrect
The comments under that one made me upset. I was like… you guys just want it to fail how do you act like it’s bad or the acting is cringey
Earth Bending looks alright to me,definitely could be improved. Fire bending looks sick. The Appa Scene could have been right out of the original series. These new scenes got me even more hyped.
Earthbending was always going to be the hardest to make look good, since its so heavy...and it honestly doesnt look that great. No camera shake, doesnt look like the benders are "strong" Like its so floaty. I can't describe it really well, it just doesnt feel like it should. But I guess thats the challenge of cgi and live action. At least the firebending looks great. Maybe the full Bumi fight will make it look good.

Ngl I rock w the journal. It could be a new way to delve into Zuko’s mentality and emotional growth as he embarks on his redemption journey. I just hope the journal entries remain consistent throughout the series.
Another theory is that, because he's been obsessing over the avatar for so long, it's full of mythology and methodology. Then aang can fund it or steal it and use it to grow as the avatar, further linking zuko and aang together

I definitely believe earthbending is the hardest to get right so I don’t blame em, all the animals and other elements and backgrounds make up for it truly
I also believe Aang was unconscious when they found him and Katara and Sokka didn’t know Appa was still in the iceberg
Gordon Cormier from what I heard from the reviewer The Avatarist said in his own RUclips video said that Gordon Cormier is the surprising part in the first episode, other several reviews said that Gordon was great

When you use slow motion during the part where the bending is being summoned, when the element actually comes out and the speed goes back to normal it gives the element more impact
Other fun fact Serena Williams is a big avatar fan she loved the show before she voice in it. Another one I remember (it been years so don't hold me to this fact) she ask if she could be a part of it and they gave her the part of Ming. Which I thought was so cool. Yeah it really awesome she a fan.
Thank you for always giving updates with an objective point of view. Us fans who were tuned in for the longest time really appreciate these kinds of videos instead of RUclipsrs who rely on rage bait, causing confusion to casual viewers.
Of course I will never fall down that rode of being like those people. I want to enjoy talking about the things I make content out of.
about the iroh zuko scene
1: I love the firebending effects and dhalas lu's stunts, he really moves and feels like zuko
2: I love how iroh's firebending has a dragon breath sound effect, shows why he's called the dragon of the west
3: earth bending is one thing im still not sure about, the effects look good but the coreography could be better

they are just a basic earthbender... earthbender also has different fighting style... you can see how different toph, bumi, and aang do that.
Yes for zuko journal, that's a great touch. Later seasons he can look back to see how he use to be and learn some lessons
serena williams voiced ming in atla and voiced a female sage in s2 e7 of korra thats actually kinda crazy to think about cuz I never knew she did voice acting and shes the last person I would've thought of that could've voiced her let alone have some type of acting career
You know this all just looks more and more amazing, and I am totally here for it. As someone that has been eagerly waiting for this Live Action I am soo excited seeing all this new footage. It does look promising to me! Can't wait! I hope they manage to renew the show because Season 2 and 3 are definetly gonna be sooo interesting to see in a live action format!

Agreed, the slow motion here didn't seem necessary, wasnt egregious but wasn't necessary.
Have not seen it mentioned, but the scene in the Fire Nation Throne room, where Ozai seems to confront some people (rebels? dissidents? intruders? unknown....) I REALLY get the feeling he roasts them and the shot of Azula looking on with the glow in her eyes is reflection of them dying in fire... very dark...(replayed at the end, 8:15 )

Yup, I knew about Serena Williams voicing the guard back when season 3 first came out! She was a legit fan and reached out to do it even if it was a few lines
The journal reminds me of the episode of The Fire Lord and the Avatar. I believe this is something they (Future Fire Lords) need to do as a log for future generations. 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Wouldn't it be kinda cool if Serena Willimas reprised her role in season 3 as the guard showing kindness to Iroh?
As much as that would be nice, they would have to create sum sort of backstory or small explanation as to how a black person suddently became a soldier in a world with nations full of ppl of asian descent
@@alwandemthethwa7594 "full of ppl of asian descent": Waterbenders aren't of Asian decent, they are Native Americans / Inuit tribes. Earthbenders aren't all of Asian decent, either. We have seen a few darker skinned earth benders (clearly not Asians, either) in both ATLA and LOK.

@@07Flash11MRC I guess I should have specific about what I mean, coz I know full well that the water is based of inuit ppl, I meant mostly comprised of asian ppl, but whan it comes to the earth nation it's solely asian down to even the darker skinned ppl u see, If u must know asian ppl can be as dark as what they portrayed in the show, anyone of african descent like myself would have been shown with a certain type of hair instead of straight silky hair that u see throughout the show, even in korra there r no ppl of african descent shown unless u can name a character that I can look up perhaps

Earthbending is a bit difficult to get right with CGI, so I'll let it slide.
I’m not sure I could be wrong, but I remember him entering a phase when he was writing a journal at the beginning and then later on when he returned back to the fire nation
I can't recall many moments where he would've. I know for a fact that he wrote letters to people in Book 3 after his turn to the good.
I don't know why but when you mention the journal I think he says in the legend of korra that he used to keep a journal but we never saw it in the show. But it would make sense to see him changing as a person with self reflection
The way I see it with the journaling is the idea of war journals and this is probably no different

The earth bending is okay but really dig the fire bending
Airbending and firebending look the best. Water looks cool too. Earth bending looks okay from the clips we do see. Hope it is better when Toph comes in.

No bro, it’s the avatarist. Not only is he sensible, he says things that aren’t popular because they’re true. The actor who plays Aang said he used that channel to learn about ATLA along with watching the episodes after he got the role

Dallas liu did a great job with the firebending. Everthing looked cool.I did have a problem with the earthbending. Mostly the style and lack of variety. For one, earthbending is a more of a step and kick or punch style but the step is key. Another, thing these are soldiers not civilians they know earthbending very well. Where is the variety?

While the Earth Bending isn't "5 Guys Move A Rock" bad, I feel like it's a bit too slow. The Earth Bender still had to do a bit too much movement just to get their rocks in the air. It's not a huge deal right now, as there's not a lot of Earth Bending in Book 1, so I hope by Book 2 they have the Earth Bending being a bit faster.
Yeah, cuz in Book 1 the main focus is on water and the water must to look natural. They manage to look her wonderful, portray her well. No matter for the difficulties.

In fairness to this scene, there were times in the cartoon where a lot of moves were done to bend some things.
@@mercedesf1fan176 You're mistaking critiquing a clip, and judging the entire show. Critiquing a clip from a promo is completely valid. This is the clearest Earth Bending they've shown us, and they're doing it to promote the show. I think it's not very good. It's slow and honestly looks a bit boring.
So far I think the show looks fantastic. I'm not judging the entire show on this clip. But seeing as they're using it to promote the show, they obviously think it's a good enough spectacle to do so and I just don't think it painted Earth Bending in a good light.
Did you know that Daniel dae Kim was also in the original show he was the earth kingdom dude who forces aang to go into the avatar state if you did thanks for reading anyway 😊

The earth bending looks kind of slow and the delay between the "punch" and the rock flying away feels a little weird

The only way earthbending is better than in 2010 here is that the moves match witch the reaction of the earth.Everything else seems broken, from the choreography, performance, the style till to the CGI itself witch looks meh.Zuko looks good and his bending as well but the rest has to be fixed.

I think she will not appear for the good amount of time, but will constantly training. And If we will see her blue🔵 flames in the end... Ioh let's just say everyone will lose their minds
I mean, without those one second slow-motion moments the action would be too confusing sometimes.
It's nice to give the audience a second to "breathe" and get a good buildup of the attack, to emphasize the impact of the bending, and let the viewer appreciate the choreography moves, like those two awesome tricks Zuko performs in mid-air, or Iroh slicing the rocks.
Just speed it up to 1.25 to see what I'm talking about.
Without slow-mo, those awesome moments are not telegraphed very well, and may become a visual mess to most people.
It would be simply too hard to focus on what's going on in the fight.
So a few quick moments of letting the viewer go "Woah!" wouldn't hurt.
After all - it's not Michael Bay's "Here's 10 seconds of slow-mo where nothing happens!"

Do we know if they're going to release all the episodes together or is it one episode per week.
I'd love to binge watch everything in one go but I'm also worried that it won't do as good. Don't shows do better if fans have to wait longer per episode - builds an audience?
I just want a season 2 to be definite if the show's as good as it looks.
As far as we know it is binge. Not every show that does a binge watch is bad. Netflix does the binge model anyway mainly. Usually if it’s released weekly it can help with more anticipation and hype and increased viewership but given again this is Netflix they don’t do that model.

For me it is lol, the finale is the most important episode a lot of the time and so if it's not long enough and they don't give the story its due then yes that's disappointing. If you think differently then that's fine but for me the finale is important to help flesh out the ending.

I noticed in the episode of Aang and Appa that Aang is wearing the whistle that is supposed to be called Appa, this in my opinion is a wrong change, he is supposed to buy the whistle, how did it get to him, it really annoys me
