I really hope the writers reflect on the criticisms everyone had with how dialogue and plot were written. The story is amazing, it doesn't need reinventing.
The first season's story might've actually needed a little reinventing. These next two not so much. There are still stuff that I'd like to be cut from the live action of the show like avatar day, secret tunnel, the painted lady and the nightmare episode right before the invasion.
@@kapelski104 Totally agree on this, although S2 and 3 are the best of the series now that we know what the adaptation is going for we can skip on a few episodes and still make it great. nd tbh i always knew we wouldnt have that dream sequence but i hope we see a few easter eggs.
Two biggest issues I had with season 1: -Plot structure felt weird because the story of season 1 is so "episodic" that it's hard to adapt into longer episodes -Show was too fast paced and felt like it could've really used an extra episode or two so it wouldn't feel like we're rushing as fast as we can The first issue will likely be fixed pretty much by itself since there's way more focus in the story. The writers also are more experienced now so that helps too. I hope Netflix realizes that these two seasons are more filled with important stuff and will increase the budget. We need more episodes. I really want to see Aang learning water and earth bending properly while being on the run from Azula. I also would like to spend a lot of time in Ba Sing Se with the conspiracy slowly uncovering and Zuko feeling conflicted.
Came here to say exactly this, and you beat me to it. I honestly felt like the front half of the season were uneven because of a. having to find a balance between introducing new watchers to the world with keeping old fans invested, and b. having to pick and choose what to cut and what to keep in from the original show. And those are issues that I think won't be such a big thing going forward, as the story becomes less episodic and more focused in seasons two and three, so it's already a tighter storyline from there. I also agree that more episodes are needed, which would have helped with season one, like if there had been another episode or two to level out the pacing issues at the start.
Avatar had many frontladed expenses that will not repeat for seasons 2 and 3: -Designing, buidling and programming the largesr "Volume" studio ever made -deciding the artistic direction. Building all the 3D assets, including Appa, Momo, and indivisual architecture of each fire nations. -Building sets that will be reused like for example Omashu and the Fire Nation capital city. -Design and building of all the props and costumes. Seasons 2 and 3 will have reduced expenses on all of it, so overall each episode has to produce less money to justify its cost when all three seaspns are taken into acfount, than just dividing this hige budget in just 8 episodes. So overall I think the smart financial play is to renew it. You dont become the #1 show in 92 countries in its second week, and are considered a flop.
I honestly need katara to do the intro. She heard it now so Katara it’s time to do the intro. I mean that would be perfect for season two and that would make people just reminisce about the show even more and I feel like if you get that in the show in season two that’s huge that’s just you’re listening to the fans and you do it.!
Hopefully they take all the positive and negative criticism and apply it to make season 2 and 3 better than the first. The first season was good but can be better for sure. I’m excited to see what they bring.
I am so happy. I didn't think season 1 was perfect, but I liked it a lot, and I am glad that they are going to finish the story. Toph is my favorite character and I am glad we are going to get to see her. :D
Very excited by this news! I've watched the entire series four times now. Some of my opinions have moderated a bit. I'm settling on the series being 7 out of 10. My initial reactions to some changes were emotionally based because of the impact the cartoon has on those of us who grew up on it. But the live action is a remix, an adaptation, and despite some weaknesses it works overall.
Despite all the issues I had with season 1, I’m still glad that we’ll see the conclusion of this story. Netflix cancels so many things and it’s so disappointing to never have closure. I really hope they take into account the constructive criticism and improve the storytelling for seasons 2 and 3. If they film them back to back, that’s even better. It won’t be too disjointed and they won’t have to contend with the young cast aging even more for the final season. I just want this thing to be good.
I'm hype for next seasons, it's time Netflix to fix the issues in the first season, and add more episode, idc if takes so long, I want many fans enjoy this show with good quality
I don't think fans understand how average Season 1 was as a cartoon. I thought the live action got through it well enough. My only issue with the casting was Team Azula as I don't see them as a believable threat. The actress playing Azula looks like she could be a power house but she needs to be terrifying for Season 2 to work. Cant wait until they cast Toph. Ba Sing Se that is all I have to say. Congrats.
More great bending choreography, awestriking visuals, and interesting story adapations in what I felt was a well thought out series dealing with the issues and demands of live action cinema, great news! 😊
If I were in charge, I’d give Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko a call asking them to return despite what happened during the filming of the first season! As we all saw they contribution is crucial to the quality of the show
I mean I personally didn’t like how they wrote Roku in episode six given that is one of the two episodes they wrote before leaving. However I can adhere to what you’re saying and maybe they can give some notes to Netflix and Albert Kim. Although I don’t think they’re going to fully come back on board now that they have avatar studios.
I think it was confirmed they want to film the seasons back to back. I think it's a great idea for the cast ages and the writers will be able to plot out season two and three at the same time so hopefully that will help with the pacing and cohesiveness of those two seasons. It felt like, because they weren't sure they were getting season two, they wanted to shoehorn in some fan favorites in season one and we don't have to worry about that now. I just hope they're paying attention to feedback and that they'll be able to, with the successes they've had, convince netflix to give them a longer runtime for seasons 2 and 3 either with more episodes (like 10-12) OR longer episodes (like an hour to an hour and a half each).
There were some changes that they made I was either really liked it or straight up hated it. The greatest earth bender is going to show up and all I know is that she better not be fixed or changed. I need the writing to be improved. Please just let Katara do her intro. Honestly, I have mixed feelings about this. Who do you want to play Toph?
I can’t really discuss the casting right now for that but I’ll definitely look into it more in the future. I only know so many young actors. Apparently there is one out there that a lot of fans are clamoring for since she did her own fan made video.
Just hope they manage to cover the important parts of S2 n S3 and improve the writing for S2 n 3. Moreover I hope all the actors can return for S2 n 3 cuz I still think they are great for their roles, just that their writing n direction could be improved on. Hope they are do a stellar job along with new actor for Toph, Hama (Hope she shows n show how terrifying bloodbending can be), Combustion Man (If he shows up), and other Avatars
I hope that the second season will have more episodes because this is the season in my opinion that her story is the best and this is also my favorite season eight episodes will not be enough to present the story of the second season and I also hope they don't mess with Toph because she is one of my favorite characters the first season was not perfect I had my problems but I think the heart of this live action was in the right place and I hope they study people's reviews and see what was good and what wasn't good I hope they fix the mistakes of the first season
I was watching the Netflix announcement and the faces they made was hilarious and sad at the same time, lucky enough they put everything on the title so i was happy before starting the vid.
Yes yes yes yes I am super excited that Netflix it’s going to make avatar season2 & season3 I am super hype animation I love it the characters perfect 10 out of 10 for avatar thank you for this information for us ;)
I'M SO STOKED! I loved the first season, especially as I re-watch it. It's not perfect but I KNOW they're gonna take feedback into account and make Seasons 2 and 3 better than the first one. We're gonna have a similar pattern to the original cartoon on our hands where Season 1 isn't the best but it's got some great moments and sets the foundation for the next two seasons to be much better! CAN'T WAIT FOR TOPH!!!!!
I am really happy that season 2 and 3 is coming because even if the entire series isn't that good, we will get a few brilliant scenes, like the Iroh and Zuko scene at the funeral of his son, or the scene where Zuko's crew paid their rescpect to him, and in generell it is just so fun to see this world come to life and I can't wait to see Toph!!!
Their are alot of valid criticisms of the first season and I hope netflix takes a note of them and improves upen them going forward. It will also be nice for the actor who played Aang to grow and get better at acting. Overall though I think they did an okay Job for the fact that the writers were limited to 8 episodes.
This adaptation could go on for 5-7 seasons..since it’s an adaptation it doesn't have to end when the animation ends. It could adapt the comics or create new adventures for Aang that haven't been seen Its not canon, if the writing improves, this series could go anywhere
As much as I want to be on board with your hopes we have to keep in mind that avatar is an IP is currently owned by two different studios. Netflix can only do so much until it conflicts with what Paramount is doing under avatar studios.
I didn’t think they’re was any doubt that avatar wouldn’t get a second season - the numbers were too strong. Even if the reviews were mixed, streamers don’t really care that much about reviews.
If they go with the Harry Potter Deathly Hallows route of filming everything back to back, then maybe just maybe the age problem won't be that drastic. That is I hope, I mean in Harry Potter they had a similar issue when it came to aging and they were able to pull it off. Well at least I hope, though I can't help but wonder what is going to be Toph's age in this? Is she going to be aged up so she can still be the same age as Aang or are they just still going to have her be 12?
I’m interested in what aspects from season 1, that they wanted to do but couldn’t fit it into the season, will appear in season 2 and what the modified storyline will be for it. They did say they had scenes in mind.
In season 1, Aang didn't learn any water bending...and season 2 is suppose to be about him finding an earth bending teacher...they going to have to put in nothing but him water bending up to the point they meet Toph.
I’m not as big of a One Piece fan as I am an ATLA fan but personally I think One Piece is going to struggle in their future seasons of the live action. I think casual viewers of One Piece may start seeing the show as repetitive with no clear end in sight. ATLA however does change dramatically season to season and there is a clear end goal. So I think you’ll see a big difference in the viewers of One Piece S2 and ATLA S2 and even bigger in S3
It's fortunate that half of book 2 takes place in Ba Sing Se. That's probably gonna help with the budget, season 1 had a lot of different locations the characters went to.
Thank Goodness! I was seeing just enough mediocre to bad reviews to make me concerned that it may not get a renew. I'm glad the numbers came through to get the green light. Also, is the Zoom call announcement available online to watch somewhere?
Earned a sub !! Honestly I liked the show I feel like then growing up a bit in season 2 is gonna be great for us cause we can see there chemistry grow as team avatar and just fix some dialogue here and there and it could of been great ! I gave first season 6.5-10 /7-10 that range next season is hope katara grows into more dramatic and angry cause that’s what I seemed to think she was missing and to push anng and katara a bit more !
S1 was far from perfect, but it wasn't horrible either. There was a lot that I liked, and definitely some things I did NOT like. Overall, I did enjoy it, it's clear that a lot of love and care was put into the show. As well as a lot of money lol. My only hope for future seasons, would be that they focus a little more on the character development then just the story. S1 seemed too focused and less fun then it should have been. I would like to see Aang bend other elements, but still be a kid. Toph is a fan favorite so I'd appreciate it if they dont change her like they did with Bumi... Zuko has a huge character arc coming up and fans would like to FEEL that. Keep the things that worked in the live action, but remember what made the animation so beloved.
It make sense because the animated Avatar series only have season 3 , so season 3 will be the finale for the live action Avatar series , and i wonder if legend of Korra live action will be next if netflix and Nickelodeon approved it
My main concern is how season one was shrunk down to 8 episodes, which i feel for new viewers of the series, did not build up that connection and build up of the origin stories. I hope season two will have at least 13 episodes and more for the final season
@@uncleirohsteashop Let's leave it at 13. Toph is my favourite character on the original animated series, I'd like a great journey for her on the live action
Thank good. I really hope that they will acnolage the criticism to s1 and improve on it. In its core s1 was good and i enjoyed watching it, but mainly the directing needs work
Even though we had very valid criticisms for the writing and dialog, the cast and visuals were amazing. I would feel cheated if i didnt get a chance to see them grow and improve with all the input from audiences. They know now what people will resinate with and I really hope they can use the feedback to make a better show. And i just love the cast. I want to see how all these people who clearly move this IP grow with the characters. Especially Dallas. I NEED to see him complete his Zuko arch!
Pumped to see more of this series moving forward. As long as they don't bring back the director from eps 1 and 2 for any of the subsequent seasons, lol. Still no clue why they got them for any of the work, but the show really picked up towards the middle, then had a really strong finally stretch of eps. I really, really enjoyed it by the end 👍
I don’t deny that potentially some director changes might be needed but honestly I didn’t feel like the directing was too bad in the first two episodes. I’d need to look more into it.
They thought: "Even with the enormous hate on the series, it occupied the top 1 for two weeks straight (at least here in my country), imagine without the hate and correcting things here and there...etc."
I think what most people don't realize is that the bad hate the show is receiving is from like verified twitter users who get a boost on their posts and it makes it seem like the show is a dumpster fire. For the most part yes the show is a mixed bag for people but not overwhelmingly negative.
I have maybe a bit of an unpopular opinion in that I think season 3 isn't really as good as season 2. Season 2 is very tight in it's plot but I have some pretty changes in mind I hope they'd make in season 3: - cut combustion man entirely from the story and figure out another way for Zuko to earn the gangs trust that doesn't involve beating combustion man - boiling rock should be a way shorter bit of the story and the painted lady stuff should be cut to save time in the beginning - Zuko needs to become good earlier so that we can get to see Aang learn fire bending more and have more time with good Zuko - Have Aang's arc end by him realizing that it's selfish of him to not kill Ozai because of his own principles and actually have him kill Ozai after a lot of internal turmoil about it. They should also cut the lion turtle and energy bending stuff out entirely too The only reason why Ozai is spared in the original is that it's on nickelodeon, not because it's a satisfying ending. ALSO: I hate Aang and Katara being together. Katara is such a mother figure that it feels just so wrong. I'd rather like Zuko and Katara as a kind of conclusion for Katara's arc of forgiving Zuko. That way we could also ditch the pointless Mei and Zuko relationship. These are pretty major changes, but the point here isn't really to copy what's already there, but to rather make a new version with the benefit of hindsight.
@@uncleirohsteashopI think this netflix version has the potential to sort of "fix" things that really didn't work out too well in the original I'd like to hear your opinion on how much change is "allowable" in a way
@@uncleirohsteashopacceptable may be a better word. Like how big can the changes be until you think they're too much. It's a matter of opinion really. Sorry if I'm a bit unclear. English isn't my first language.
Yeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaahhhhh!!! Really enjoyed the first season, and I don't care what anyone says, for menit was a really good adaptation and I can't wait for the next seasons. Btw, Paul does have a yt channel, BitterAsianGuy, I think...
My best guess is maybe at a minimum we get a late 2025 release for S2 or early 2026 at the same time of when S1 came out. S3 if it's filmed at the same time could be 2027.
Remember Book 1 is the weakest of the three books, and Book 2 and 3 are much better paced, and doesn't had a lot of filler arcs, and I think B2 and B3 are much easier to adapt than B1
They do both have some filler to them so I expect that we could see some drawbacks to that although if they extend the number of episodes maybe we could get more
It may not mean much....But the moment I saw a headline I IMMEDIATELY came to your channel! You have blessed me with such wonderful and insightful knowledge on this journey. This is the only place I wanted to celebrate🎉🎇🎉🎇🎉🎇🎉🎇🎉🎇🎉🎇🎉🎇🎉🎇🎉🎇🎉🎇🎉🎇🎉🎇🎉🎇🎉🎇🎉🎇
Probably was more cost effective for them to start producing S3 at the same time as S2
If they can that could be a good way to go

I think casual viewers of One Piece may start seeing the show as repetitive with no clear end in sight. ATLA however does change dramatically season to season and there is a clear end goal. So I think you’ll see a big difference in the viewers of One Piece S2 and ATLA S2 and even bigger in S3
It's fortunate that half of book 2 takes place in Ba Sing Se. That's probably gonna help with the budget, season 1 had a lot of different locations the characters went to.
The beginning of book 2 does take place in a lot of other locations too but yes the later half is mainly ba sing se
Thank Goodness! I was seeing just enough mediocre to bad reviews to make me concerned that it may not get a renew. I'm glad the numbers came through to get the green light.
Also, is the Zoom call announcement available online to watch somewhere?
It's on Netflix RUclips account
@@uncleirohsteashop Ok, Thanks!
Much appreciated thank you and thanks for sharing the feedback!
I'm definitely excited
It make sense because the animated Avatar series only have season 3 , so season 3 will be the finale for the live action Avatar series , and i wonder if legend of Korra live action will be next if netflix and Nickelodeon approved it
I would rather they not do that lol, at least not now
I wonder if Aang will actually learn some bending next season causse he didn't learn water at all, I'm sure that was unintentional its just funny
I am hoping we see the waterbending as soon as Season 2 starts
What about Aang becoming Koi-Zilla when he went underwater?
@@tovolume that was more so the spirit then him
My main concern is how season one was shrunk down to 8 episodes, which i feel for new viewers of the series, did not build up that connection and build up of the origin stories. I hope season two will have at least 13 episodes and more for the final season
10-12 would be very nice in my opinion
@@uncleirohsteashop Let's leave it at 13. Toph is my favourite character on the original animated series, I'd like a great journey for her on the live action
Paul has a RUclips channel
Thank good. I really hope that they will acnolage the criticism to s1 and improve on it. In its core s1 was good and i enjoyed watching it, but mainly the directing needs work
I love it. I’m excited!!!
Yehey. I love bith animated and live action series
I can’t wait to see who’ll they cast as Toph!
The show received so much hate based on what fans wanted or expected not what was actually wrong with season 1 (the script)
@@alexanderloya9022 thats so true...
I think what most people don't realize is that the bad hate the show is receiving is from like verified twitter users who get a boost on their posts and it makes it seem like the show is a dumpster fire. For the most part yes the show is a mixed bag for people but not overwhelmingly negative.
It's mixed to positive reviews, plus it's also #1 in the popularity ranking in IMDb
They need to increase to 10 episodes
I would agree with this 100%!
Would be funny if in season 3 Aang will be taller than Katara 😁
Not sure if that will happen but given where they are at now it could line up like the cartoon where Katara is just slightly taller
YEEEEESSS!!! I AM SO HAPPYYYYY
Here's hoping for Legend of Korra after S3
As much as I hear you on this, I personally don't know if I would do it yet
Please make a content about who's the potential Toph in S2. We want to know your candidates. Thanks uncle.
I’ll be sure to do as much research as possible and make a separate video on that in the future👍
Il am super happy!
I have maybe a bit of an unpopular opinion in that I think season 3 isn't really as good as season 2.
Season 2 is very tight in it's plot but I have some pretty changes in mind I hope they'd make in season 3:
- cut combustion man entirely from the story and figure out another way for Zuko to earn the gangs trust that doesn't involve beating combustion man
- boiling rock should be a way shorter bit of the story and the painted lady stuff should be cut to save time in the beginning
- Zuko needs to become good earlier so that we can get to see Aang learn fire bending more and have more time with good Zuko
- Have Aang's arc end by him realizing that it's selfish of him to not kill Ozai because of his own principles and actually have him kill Ozai after a lot of internal turmoil about it. They should also cut the lion turtle and energy bending stuff out entirely too
The only reason why Ozai is spared in the original is that it's on nickelodeon, not because it's a satisfying ending.
Hey I appreciate a new look on things even if I might not agree with it all so thank you for sharing
@@uncleirohsteashopI think this netflix version has the potential to sort of "fix" things that really didn't work out too well in the original
I'd like to hear your opinion on how much change is "allowable" in a way
@@kapelski104 idk what you mean by allowable? That's also not up for me to say because I am not the showrunners and netflix.
@@uncleirohsteashopacceptable may be a better word. Like how big can the changes be until you think they're too much. It's a matter of opinion really.
Sorry if I'm a bit unclear. English isn't my first language.
@@kapelski104 no problem thank you for clarifying
Glad to hear it. I hope they listen to the criticisms and make some adjustments while keeping in place the positive changes they made in the story.
So happy season 2 & 3 were greenlit! I know it will be a long wait though and I have to be patient.
really excited
Yeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaahhhhh!!!
Really enjoyed the first season, and I don't care what anyone says, for menit was a really good adaptation and I can't wait for the next seasons.
Btw, Paul does have a yt channel, BitterAsianGuy, I think...
Same 🎉🎉❤
Wow that's cool I just found it! He hasn't posted in forever but still cool!
What do you think? How long do we have to wait? I'm hyped
My best guess is maybe at a minimum we get a late 2025 release for S2 or early 2026 at the same time of when S1 came out. S3 if it's filmed at the same time could be 2027.
which day is Avatar the last Airbender season two and season three coming out on Netflix
No confirmed date yet but probably late 2025 or early 2026
Remember Book 1 is the weakest of the three books, and Book 2 and 3 are much better paced, and doesn't had a lot of filler arcs, and I think B2 and B3 are much easier to adapt than B1
They do both have some filler to them so I expect that we could see some drawbacks to that although if they extend the number of episodes maybe we could get more
So late 2025 early 2026 we see season 2?
That's my best guess at the minimum
This is a disaster. They should not make season 2 & 3. I can't even finish season 1
I am sorry it didn't work for you, I disagree it was a disaster and I would like to see the next two seasons
First🎉
Let's chill for a second. Let's not pretend that season 1 isn't without it's problems. I love Avatar but come on. They need to do better.
Who needs to chill? I’ve been expressive about how I had issues with season one but I’m still excited.
