In the netherlands you definitely have to mention the potato cause our "kroketten" are (most often) with a roux based meat filling. We have them EVERYWHERE. Some snackbars have walls of fried snacks with like 4 different types of kroketten in them. You just pay at the wall and a slot opens 🤷

Re: deep fried mashed potatoes- A popular wannabe “fancy” restaurant chain in my area has an appetizer where a dollop of loaded mashed potatoes (loaded- cheese, bacon, chives, and sour cream are mixed into the mashed potatoes) are wrapped in a spring roll wrapper and deep fried. They’re effing amazing!

I enjoy Julen so much. I hate saying this (because I love Julian and his cooking videos) but it's making me so nostalgic for the good old days when we had yin and yang.... order and chaos.... Julien and Jenna. I miss her sooo much. I started watching her when I was REALLY going through the hardest time in my life. Their fun loving videos together gave a me a couple of minutes of escape from the horrors of my own life.... also, the whole point of latkes is that you remove the moisture and get them crunchy, whereas mashed potatoes are supposed to be creamy (though i honestly love when latkes have a soft center)
I enjoy Julen so much. I hate saying this (because I love Julian and his cooking videos) but it's making me so nostalgic for the good old days when we had yin and yang.... order and chaos.... Julien and Jenna.
I miss her sooo much. I started watching her when I was REALLY going through the hardest time in my life. Their fun loving videos together gave a me a couple of minutes of escape from the horrors of my own life....
I understand that people move on and people have to do what makes them happy and makes them feel fulfilled.... I have also had to do that in my life.
I just miss her... I miss them
Thank goodness for the old videos... I watch them ALL THE TIME especially if I'm down. And thank goodness for Julien coming back to the kitchen and sharing with us once more the chaos that is Aries Kitchen.... blessed.
