    I'm so happy you made this video! Even in beauty school, they never taught how to part and section with that detail. I struggled with it, and thought something was wrong with me thinking everyone just knows how to do it because no one took the time to teach it. Like it's something you're supposed to know.

      Same here!!!! God! Just graduated from an expensive hairstyling school and this was never taught!! It took me almost an hour to section a dollhead in prep for setting!!! The teacher told me I’m going to have problems because of how I section hair. Like, okay! That’s sure going to help me, thanks!!!💩 thank you so much for this video❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

    I had a wonderful instructor in beauty school who taught us to part hair using some of these tips! I thought it was so silly at the time to be given instructions on how to part hair but looking back now it was so helpful and I appreciate that she showed us these basics; solid building blocks are so important. Great video!

    I'm never going to cut someone's hair, I'm just a 28 year old guy who has let his hair grow out this year and found out my hair is naturally fairly curly when it's long. I'm trying to encourage those curls and a product I bought said to section your hair and apply and I had no idea what that meant lol. This guy is very clear spoken and good at communicating information.

    • @calliopeshif7581
      @calliopeshif7581 Год назад

      Hey, I'm in the same boat!! (Profile pic is very old and not representative, lol)
      Granted, I knew my hair was curly, just had never grown it out long enough to have to really learn how to deal with it. I've been learning a lot, but honestly still struggling with the sectioning part :/
      None of these videos are from the perspective of doing it for yourself, let alone with curly hair or no proper way to see the back of your own head. This all makes sense to me, from my hairstylist's point of view. I'm still entirely unable to evenly section my own hair, so it ends up with a bunch of hairs crossing from one section into the other and generally making it difficult to style :(
      Hopefully you've figured out a good method in the last two years since commenting this! I'm feeling a bit lost about it, haha.

      Plus having curly hair makes this more difficult!
      Oh, and these videos are always from the perspective of someone else (like a stylist) standing behind the person to be styled... How am I supposed to apply that to myself???
      Recently grew my hair out for the first time, and it's been tough learning how to style it, but I've figured out most of the process. Most of it, EXCEPT for sectioning my hair evenly :/

    I think my question was more specifically what are the types of partings you can use when you are following through with your cut. I have seen so many in the videos as of lately if I had a idea of the shapes to practice I would feel more prepared :)
