- The Acropolis in Athens is one of the most famous historical sites in the world. In this video I take a walk up the winding pathways to reach this marvelous Unesco World Heritage site.

The area you have passed on the way to Akropolis is called Anafiotika named after the island of Anafi in Greece. The first workers that build the palace and other goverment buildings came from there and the goverment gave them little houses to reside near the street of Akadimia. But the price of land came up and the owners decided to sell so they would leave them on the streets. So those workers decided to trespass that area of Plaka and build houses there to stay. They build their houses on the exact same style they are building on the Aegean Islands. That’s the reason this area is nice and traditional to what it used to be in many of the islands and still is.

I think you not only made the right choice about travelling, but you're doing all of us vicarious travellers a great service right now by just showing us that these beautiful sunny places still exist. There's virtually nobody else doing travelogs right now, so you've got a captive audience. Who knows, these more general videos could help you reach a new audience. Anyway, I hope you've arrived safely in Turkey. I really hope you're enjoying it to the max, every day of it, and taking a well-deserved break from the daily grind. There's not much point to life if you can't get out and enjoy life. Thank you for the great videos.

After viewing the Acropolis sitting on a bar stool in Pattaya watching naked go-go dancers twirl around a pole is coming to be very boring.
