The underrated gem of the Black Album.
The solo by Kirk on the album is one of my favorites by him
To be honest the only good song off the Black album.

One of my favourites
I met Lars in a club back in 2001 in San Francisco. I asked him why they never played for the God that failed . He told me that it didn’t sound good live . Well me Lars Ulrich you proved yourself wrong 😃🇸🇪🤣😜👌🏻

Love the respect Rob shows... his own lines are finger picked, Cliff's are finger picked.... Jason's, he grabs a pick, to stay true to that chonky tone. Man, this is he best Tallica has sounded since 91 or so.
Are you completely sure? He doesn't play Fuel or Enter Sandman with a pick, for example...

They sound thin. Once Jason left, so did Metallica's balls. James hasn't sounded this good for a while, but Lars gets progressively lazier with his playing and Kirk phones it in and doesn't play with passion, anymore. He's going through the motions. I still will forever love them, though.
You can immediately hear the Jason like rumble in the bass when Rob breakes out a pick !

What I really like is that Rob plays the songs from each era the way they are supposed to be played and does it perfectly\m/

This song doesn’t get enough credit. It’s heavy, yet melodic combined with great lyrics and solos. One of my all time favorites.

@@thepanther6915 are you kidding me? I've been to theirs Prague show in August, and James was amazing there. Since Black Album was released he started to sing in the core meaning of this word, ie stopped yelling and ruining his voice. The quality of his vocal performance has become waay higher recently.

Holy fucking shit, every video I watch, as they come out during this tour, is cleaner and crisper than the last. It's amazing how great they sound. Everything is on point.

I actually stood in the front row at a Metallica concert when they performed at the Iowa Speedway in Newton in june of 2017. I was extremely happy extremely impressed by them because they put on one helluva performance. They really are an awesome band that every Rock N Roller should see Live in concert once in their lives. I appreciate that this was played live at almost the same speed as the album version, anything else would’ve done that beautiful bass a disservice 👏🏼👏🏼
I was there with my brother, just like we did in 2018.
This was a killer one, well played and with the crowd joining the band.... yes, we the europeans LOVE METALLICA and we made a concert getting more alive.
I was 12 years old when this one came out at the Black Album... and getting this one live put a big smille at my face!

I remember when I discovered this song. I bought the black album and was listening all the way through and this came on and that chunky ass bass tone in the beginning blew me away. I listened to it non stop for like a month haha

And they still rock on🤘🤘🤘. I kinda get why people still miss Jason, but now it is Rob time, and he still sticks with the band regardless. To me, Cliff is still the most unique in terms of how he handled the bass, smacking the bass, shouting with James, with relaxing appeal, and not trying to prove anything because he is just that good, and though his time cut short, those few year with them as not just bandmate, but like brothers were the best of Metallica. Jason has good backing vocal, he played his heart out, but nothing compared to Cliff, and I stand by that. Rob has good bass technique and he has this calmness in him, just being himself, and he does very good job, he is better for Metallica. How Metallica today compared to aggressiveness in earlier years has nothing to do with anything, it is just they are all close to 60, more matured,more settled. I do miss the badass James where he threw the f word everywhere, the angry disturbed man, it is good for me as a fan but bad for he himself as a human. So now I just appreciate the longevity of the band that they have survived through many disgruntled fans, critiques alike, who doesn't get their music, they make their own statement and they represent their own genre. That's just my opinion though.
