Skin has blemishes, lines, dry patches, ect. There's nothing wrong with it and it sucks seeing people put major filters on their videos without saying anything because you hope your makeup will look that way despite it being completely impossible. Even if you have the best skin and skin care routine ever its still gonna look like skin.

I’m actually surprised someone as honest as Mikayla would do this. You know, the girl who uses filters but never admits it, the girl who said she’s donating money to abortion but never did, the girl who made a podcast disappear because it showed what she actually looks like. Yeah completely shocked a known liar would lie. Crazy how that happens 😂.
The girl who fakes her accent, who lied about having body dysmorphia for sympathy, who said people working real jobs could never handle her current job because she films TikToks for an entire 7 hours a day! Lmao
Dude she lies all the time. She always is saying she loves her body, but cried on her wedding dress video saying she has body dysmorhia, fakes her accent, and changes the story on how she cleared her acne. Not to mention it's hard to believe she uses products when she is plastered on different brands at Sephora and Ulta
Not only was she lying about this product, there was also drama in regards to how rude she was to a fan who serviced her as a waitress at a restaurant she ate at and passed it off as "social anxiety" for being rude to her.
This always bothered me because in the videos she made with Rihanna she was absolutely comfortable and was perfectly fine with taking photos with Selena Gomez and Nikkie Tutorials… it’s funny how she can seemingly (and very conveniently) turn off her “anxiety” disorder when it’s time to interact with someone that can further her career.

I actually have a BDD diagnosis myself and I would never make a career out of constantly putting my face online, and there is absolutely no way that I would stand in a video half naked and willingly post it online for millions of people to see.

@@kimyugioh ohhhhh yeah BIG time. It’s the reason I blocked her. I found one of her old videos from early 2020 on how to cover acne. No accent at all lol

If she signed a contract with them to not disclose about falsies behind the scenes, then of course she is going to lie. The problem that I see, is people are taking this too seriously. Not every product that is advertised is suppose to cater to you.
@@bplovelove3119 uhh i don’t think that’s the issue at all. If you’re going to be a make up reviewer you got to be at least honest with how it looks. How are they going to know if it’s catered to them if you don’t show how it looks normally? It’s a shame bc the mascara actually looked great alone for the few seconds she had it on
Been watching your channel forever and the beauty community has really died down with drama since Jeffrey kind of left. But when I heard that there was some drama BIG enough to pull Jeffrey back I knew I needed to get filled in. And there’s millions of videos out there about this subject but you’re the OG for me
An easy solution (since she’s totally being honest 😏) for her would be to do an unedited video or livestream applying the mascara from start to finish. It will be interesting to see how this turns out.
I've noticed that about 1-2 years after an influencer makes some kind of "my job is harder than a normal job" post or video (which this person did) something shady about them comes out. Always happens.
isn't she sponsored by Charlotte Tilbury on the low? recently she did a contour dupe comparison and didn't even bother to blend the other product well, ofc making CT side of her face look amazing
The Flower Beauty one? She did recommend the Milani instead as a dupe and says it’s just as good as CT. But I will say that I have the Flower Beauty one and while yes it does dry down fast, her review felt half assed. I expect a supposed makeup artist to test a product by using it the way it’s best applied - I had zero issues with the FB one applying one section at a time and right away blending with a sponge.
I am so done with this push for CT by these influencers. Paying 70 dollars to look glow and basic a** rose gold and nude all over? Nah. I can find dupes.
@@NoFirstNoLastName yes yes i haven’t heard other people say anything bad about CT and i was wondering if i was the only one, this PUSH these influencers are giving for charlotte’s basic looking overpriced products is insane, i’ve been so bombarded by CT i will NEVER buy any of their products
I used to believe her until recently when I saw her review on the powder foundation from mabelline, her skin was too filterd to actually see the product and that was my realization moment 😢
I lost trust in ANYTHING she had to say the moment she denied using beauty filters. Her freaking IG post on Christmas has a double tailed eyebrow, come on! That’s not even all of it, but I’m glad others are finally realizing how badly they’ve been gaslit this whole time.
@@jhy8191 oh she doubles and triples down on it. She got “smooth skin” from her mom, she does have texture, then doesn’t. She can’t keep track of her own lies. The video she did with Nikki Tutorials doesn’t have the FaceTune/beauty filters on it, and her eyebrows look like they’re from two different people. I get not feeling confident in your skin, but when you’re selling a skin product, we want the good, bad, AND ugly, so don’t lie about using filters.
@@Lily-xk4ss it is when she knows people look up to her, puts filters on a video where shes reviewing a product which leads people to believe oh hey this is so smooth and covers everything! she messes with peoples money to get her own money
I could never watch her full posts bc I couldn't get passed the accent 🤣 but seriously, the ONLY person I trust in beauty social media is robert welsch. He points out filters and exposes all of it while being very professional and he has real makeup background. I never buy or listen to beauty "influencers" all they do is lie and use filters
Love how calming your voice is. I literally listen to the tea to relax. Just to point something out about her skincare collaboration I’m pretty sure it was with Glow recipe not Glam Glow. Too many Glows in the industry lol
If I had a dime for every-time an influencer ie Makayla said, “this changed my life,it will cover all your scandals, past relationships and life, look at that pigment,I’ve never seen anything so stunning, omg I barely put any on or this is my absolute new fave,I can’t live w/o it”. I would be richer than Bezo’s,Gates & Musk combined. Damn it, I should’ve started that Bank awhile ago 😩😤
For me it started when she said she used black african soap to clear her face and that its magic, and when her acne came back she said its because she stopped her contraceptive pills. Why’d she lie in the first and say the soap is what makes her skin clear?
It's how she went on a live saying how real she was, and letting all her followers know her skin is clear because she has spent $1,000s seeing dermatologists and treatments.
Wow. Black soap is fantastic but it can literally burn your face if you’re not careful! That happened to me once and I looked it up and saw I wasn’t the only one. Luckily I didn’t scar up or anything but I had superficial bur painful burns on my left cheek. If anyone sees this comment, don’t leave black soap on your face for too long. I lathered my face and let it sit fl while I brushed my teeth and it started to burn after a couple of minutes. I washed it off immediately and was left with three circular burns. Also it’s an unstable product, as in every batch or brand varies. The one I got from my moms trip to Ghana was perfect (I wish she still had friends there) but the stuff I bought stateside was very different. If anyone wants to use it, don’t get it from beauty supply stores, order online from a reputable place because if you have mild to moderate acne, that stuff is a Godsend!
To be fair, African black soap is amazing and helps me clear up acne when I do get it (which is very rare, minor bumps and nothing like the cystic acne she had so I can't speak on how it would work for that) But she lied when she said that's what cleared up hers.
I don't use Tik Tok, or know anything about this girl. But the fact that she's SO filtered, plumped, and using a dodgy "accent" is enough 😐. These influencers are really just sad...
My mom LOVES Mikayla, follows her like I've never seen her follow an influencer before. Every product she reviews my mom goes on her way to buy it because Miss Mikayla reviewed it and it was good. This is so dissapointing. The mascera was good with that initial coat. She had no reason to lie and ruin her reputation. This is a really bad look for her and Loreal.
Show your mom the videos proving her accent is fake, the one where she’s saying anyone working real jobs could never handle being an influencer because she had to film TikToks for a full 7 hours (lmao). This chick SUCKS
same im a supporter of her bc she reminded me of Jackyln/Tati now im scared shes morphing into Jacklyn by throwing her credibility down the drain for a sponsorship.
She is, but we also have to remember she did work a 9-5 while also juggling social media in the beginning. I don't like her, but if her experience is being an influencer is harder then that is her experience.
For some people, it really is. A basic regular 9-5 can just be easy cause of the simplicity. While being an influencer, there’s a lot more scheduling, dealing with fans, responding to mails/requests, finances etc involved. Self employment can be overwhelming For some, that might be a lot harder to deal with than for others
Yeah I’ve been hearing bad things about this girl who I have NEVER heard of before, decided to finally see what it’s about and this information has absolutely ruined my life, how will I ever be able to trust anyone again?
I literally saw a video of her today crying talking about her wedding and having to put a dress on and how she has body dysmorphia and I thought she seemed extra upset. I want to find it now and look at the date because it seems conveniently timed so that people give her a break without her having to even say it has to do with this smh
@@IvanaSantini I will never believe that she has BDD, because she knows what her size is and she acknowledges it. It’s not a perceived “flaw” that she’s having delusions about and she’s not exaggerating it either. She throws out a new mental health “diagnosis” along with fake tears whenever she needs people to let something slide and that shit is fucking disgusting.
I see other “influencer” types saying “if you can’t understand that she added a lash to compliment the look, then you need to be for real.” No. She literally responded to multiple comments saying I didn’t use lashes! It’s liner and more coats. L’Oréal wouldn’t let me do that. Girl. Just stop.
Dang. I loved watching her videos on RUclips, I just watched her wedding grwm story times and thought she was such an open and honest person. I feel bad for supporting someone who clearly doesn’t care about taking advantage of their audience so blatantly.
I'm one of those who still only watch full length beauty content on youtube and literally only use tiktok or IG for swatches. With short content, they get away with so much. Same BS selling pitch, you know they used the product for literally 5 minutes and are telling you to buy it. Filming as soon as they get home from shopping. They don't follow the same rules. So much filtering, not enough accountability.
I honestly don't trust some of these tiktok influencers but I gotta say my girl Tati reviewed this mascara recently and said she didn't like it sooo I believe her over them any day 😂
@@anisa-mb5sn assuming people who don’t like a product you like just don’t know how to use it is really condescending and unnecessary. Products work differently for different people. We can all have our own opinions and that good, and it doesn’t mean you have to insult others for not sharing your opinion. Thx.
This situation of influencers hiding their sponsored posts really made me wish the late Here For The Tea was still around. I believe her videos were the reason why RUclipsrs started disclosing their deals more openly.
I remember seeing a video of an indie brand promoting an eyeshadow pallet. It was super pigmented, like the lady swatched a shade on her arm and it barely faded. Mikaela said the chick was using vaseline to make it glide that smooth and trashed her brand. I think she deleted the tiktok after the lady dueted her video.
The crazy part is the mascara itself is amazing!! She could’ve just applied another coat on camera and curled them ! They would’ve looked good! She even could’ve compared them to her other eye mascara-less! But nope. Threw her reputation out the window 😢
Jeffree star was the only one to ever give a true and honest review of many brands that people were scared to throw shade. Like the Kylie products and others.
On her wedding dress appointment video she was crying and said she hopes the wedding dress shop was good as she was so nervous and just booked the first shop she saw, without checking it out but then a few videos later she said “I chose this wedding shop because they had more of the style of wedding dress I like” ?? 🤣 like gurl what
i unfollowed her after that video, she was crying about her body, and her confidence issues, which i can understand, but just a few videos earlier where she posted about the shapewear she usually wears she was smiling and going on about how she loves her body and it took her a long time... i hate people with false positivity just to make themselves look better than others or more mindful and more happy, when they aren't
"Funny" thing is, L'Oréal will probably drop her faster than you can say "false lashes". They won't be impressed with all this backlash and it'd be so easy for them to distance themselves from all this.
This is crazy! I've been watching her shorts on youtube for a few months. I still have enough faith in Mikayla to think she'll come clean and learn from this. I just hope she realizes that saying nothing will only make what's left of her audience trust her even less.
When I first downloaded tiktok the app pushed her so hard on my feed. I never stopped to watch her videos, her personality didn't click with me, but her videos still constantly came up in my feed. Like a week into having tiktok I had to block her just to get rid of the suggestions.
I remember when she made a bunch of excuses for Jaclyns poor shade range of bronzers that excluded richer skin tones & then made a half assed “apology” buried in the comments, and when called out on it she blocked a bunch of Black & Brown ppl
She did make a video apology! She said that she hadn't thought enough about it before she defended it, and that she was called out enough that she realized it was partially her white privilege that led her to defend the bad shade range.
she also used her body dysmorphia for content . she made a series of her getting ready to choose her dress and starts it with this trauma dump but slowly starts advertising??
I must b so outta the loop cuz this is also my first hearing about these drama stuff about her (EDIT: just watched the video and yea she lost my trust I can't watch her now I hate makeup RUclipsrs but watching her usually was nice but after this ig not)(another edit someone called me dramatic and said I was overreacting which is annoying)
Go watch the video about how her accent is fake and how she said her job now is harder than people working “real” jobs and get back to me. She’s awful.
I’ve really never felt that passionate towards an influencer so I don’t really understand the full “I’m so hurt I’m shaking” but it is sad to see her lie to her fans
To be fair, she's more of a colleague than just a fan, was my understanding (i.e. a fellow beauty influencer). But yeah, this is what happens when you put someone on a pedestal and expect them to be perpetually perfect.
I'm so glad I came across this video. I noticed a lie that she told about how she chose which wedding dress boutique to go to and commented the discrepancy.
I only knew about her becuase there's a video where she says that being an "influencer" is so difficult and then it cuts to a compilation of her showing her new designer bags 💀💀💀
As a mascara enthusiast I can confidently say this mascara is terrible. I’ve tried making it work so many times and every time it results in me taking my makeup off and starting over . It will legit clump your lashes to high heavens. There’s so many better ones out there believe me
Yes PLEASE recommend a few! I’ve been using the Lash Sensational Sky High from maybelline for aaaages and I don’t LOVE it and I’m too lazy to go through trial and error and money to try out new ones 😂
The only time I’ve ever achieved false-lash illusion solely from a mascara is when i used a two step set with a separate fiber building lash primer before applying the mascara itself. You’re not getting that level of volume and length from a drugstore single-step tube of mascara. It’s just not possible, in my experience at least. She’s not getting that amount of lash definition without clumps from a L’Oréal mascara for $11. You can see the individual lashes perfectly separated and even, which you won’t get from that mascara.
I saw her video recently where she was crying because she had body dysmorphia and was terrified for her wedding dress appointment because of her body, then came across another short a few days later where she was in her underwear showing her body saying how much she loves it. As someone with body dysmorphia I didn’t understand. I’m sure it affects people very differently and my experience with it won’t be the same as another’s. But I just didn’t understand it.
It's my personal opinion no one who films themselves like she does suffers from anything but narcissism. I've dealt with bulimia and starving myself and body dysmorphia my whole life since I was 8 and I avoid cameras and mirrors like the plague. Never EVER ever would you catch me online, much less NAKED online. Her fake accent was all it took for me to see she knows optics and uses them to create a favorable narrative to get the COINS.
She could’ve been lying or she’s similar to me. I’ve had body dysmorphia-like symptoms (or just undiagnosed body dysmorphia lmao I don’t know) and for me it’s more like episodes. There’s always at least a tiny bit of the underlying feeling but I can occasionally not feel bad about or even really like my body
@@nailslacquer exactly. I just didn’t see BD there at all. Like I say i know it doesn’t present identically in every person, but I don’t know anyone with BD who would be able to confidently do that. Especially if they are insecure enough to cry and look like they’re having a panic attack because they have to try on dresses in front of people. Made no sense to me
@Beka Rex that last part is what really reads she's faking it for me. How are you panicking having to try on dresses in front of a handful of people, most of whom are professionals and have seen all sorts of bodies... but you are perfectly cool calm and collected in your underwear, saying you love your body, and then posting it for literal MILLIONS to see? Like how does that not cause more panic than the handful of people with the dress? Tf?
@@jaxxvictoria6802 precisely. I was talking to my husband about it when I saw the underwear video. But with it she can do that online? Nah. I don’t think so
I kept wondering last night why I all of a sudden see people saying “In Jeffree Star we trust” on tik tok videos and such 😂 Jeffree truly is the only make up artist I ever trusted since watching his video reviewing a drug store brand foundation back in circa 2015/16. All his reviews consists of brutal honesty. One thing I majorly respected and knew he was the real one was when even though he didn’t necessarily like certain make up brand owners, he never denied and admitted some formulas were amazing. The realest move he also did was when he reviewed Kylie’s products, he was removed from PR for his honest feedback, but he kept buying her products with his own money to keep reviewing them and letting us know weather they were worth the money/hype. My personal favorite was his review on Kylie’s $360 brushes 😂
I'm so shocked cus I follow her but don't watch what she does I've seen her reviewing things but wow, I honestly trusted her, never bought anything but thank you
i've never particularly bought anything that she's reviewed but i did believe her until this point. like u said jeffree is one of the only honest ppl bc the brand deals don't mean anything to him. bought the benefit roller lash bc of him and it has been my favorite for 5 years
This is what I don't get about this generation and yes im 51yrs....Why can't any of these kids /adults pick out their own mascara ? Why cant they pick out their own makeup without getting some false review from an "influencer " who they know uses products to make that influencer a lot of money ?
I do think some of the influencers coming out “shaking” is a bit much. Unfortunately many influencers, mislead, use filters, lie pretending they use X brand until the next one comes along and get away with it im not sure why she’s the only one taking all the heat.
Right the fake outage is just jealousy that they don’t have as close as many followers. You can call Mikayla out but I strongly sense something else almost like her competition waiting for her to mess up. This whole thing doesn’t really matter
@@lolasky204 I hate this "real jobs" argument. Anything that you do that pays your bills is a job. Content creation is a JOB. If it wasn't, you wouldn't even be here watching this right now. If you're able to make a million dollars a year by reviewing makeup and doing brand deals then you'd do it rather than a desk job and you know it.
What's so crappy is she didn't even need to lie. She could have been up front about it. Like, 'This is how it looks with X amount of coats and no lashes. And this is how it looks on my other eye with X coats and lashes on. I love how it looks without lashes and with lashes!' Like, how hard is that? Just be honest. 🙄

I like it almost as much as "Lateral Alveolar Fricative" (it pertains to how you're supposed to say words such as Llewellynn the proper way, like breathing through the back of your throat when you say the L's. Look it up, it's awesome.)
The thing about this type of tiktoks is that majority of the times there is bias on one level or another. It's like when NikkieTutorials did that review on youtube of Sheglam and she praised every single product even though you could notice that some of those products weren't things that she would normally like or choose, or when influencers launch their brands and all of the influencers that are in their friend circle praise every single product too. I hate it whenever influencers preach about how honest they are in their reviews yet whenever there is money or a relationship in between magically the product/products are amazing incredible beautiful and never seen before.
Exactly! Sometimes the product is subpar or extremely overpriced but they overhyped it just because they have an affiliate code or their “friend” has the collab. It’s great that they are friends but I may not even follow or care about their friend the way they do. I just want to know if the product is a good product regardless of the name attached to it, but they are so biased from either affiliate codes or trying to support their friends that I can’t trust their reviews.
I was always hesitant to like her because she "hates" a lot of people. That always makes me a little nervous. She did the same thing when she complained about having "a hard job as an influencer" literally a year or two earlier she made fun of JH for saying the same thing. Its a shame she's coming out as a total hypocrite.
She can't do that, she'll probably get sued by L'Oreal business. That was a sponsored L'Oreal video. If she signed a contract, she can't just apologize.
The personal hell I'm experiencing, because telescopic has been my mascara Holy Grail for going on ten years, and I feel like this has such potential, but I literally don't want to buy the product because of the drama. 💅💅

I HATE being lied to.

The way I tapped on this so fast haha! Besides the point, you are great! Thanks, for the great content. I love the tea lol.
I was always hesitant to like her because she "hates" a lot of people. That always makes me a little nervous.
She did the same thing when she complained about having "a hard job as an influencer" literally a year or two earlier she made fun of JH for saying the same thing. Its a shame she's coming out as a total hypocrite.
hope someone can close her down
watch her come out with a sob story like she did when people were mocking and calling her out for the “i just finished working and it’s 5pm” line
That’s her go to when she gets any criticism or people hold her accountable. It’s pathetic.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
She can't do that, she'll probably get sued by L'Oreal business. That was a sponsored L'Oreal video. If she signed a contract, she can't just apologize.
I cant wait for JessiSmiles to talk about this on the "Do We Know Them?" podcast this Sunday omg
Yes! 😂
I was shocked when she referred to Jessi as just a friend... Lol I mean she is a friend but damn we love & stan Jessi
The personal hell I'm experiencing, because telescopic has been my mascara Holy Grail for going on ten years, and I feel like this has such potential, but I literally don't want to buy the product because of the drama. 💅💅
Maybe just don’t buy it since they test in animals 😢
What ?
It's my jam too but her goofiness isn't stopping me.
if you like it buy it or search online for any dupes so u don't have to support L'Oréal AND their partnerships plus u wouldn't support animal testing
L’Oréal has invested in new technology to stop on animal testing however that takes time. Medicine is also tested on animals are you going to stop taking medication as well?
For me, it’s Kathleen Lights being nervous to post her opinion but letting the N-word fly out her mouth so casually 🫠
That’s what I was thinking! People tend to forget that kind of behavior easy too easily it seems
Some people have absolutely no shame 😂 damn girl
