5:27 the harmonies between the guitars and bass guitar here is truly fucking insane... this is why I love beyond creation more than any tech/prog death metal band. They don't just go super fast, aggressive, or progressive to the point where it's unpleasant. They have these amazing harmonies WITHOUT being overly melodic either, it's the perfect balance.

I saw them live in Dublin in November 2018. I was off work that week with bad back pain, on anti inflammatories and pain killers. But I didn't let that stop me from going to see them. I wanted to see them live that bad. I had a chat with Kevin after the show. He tried to get me to buy a CD from another band he played in that night but I didn't bring enough money with me to the gig and hadn't much left after buying a Beyond Creation t-shirt. He was a pretty cool and chilled out guy though. Anyway, that back problem wasn't the end of my health troubles. That was the last gig I went to before experiencing symptoms of diabetes a couple of weeks later. Got diagnosed with type one diabetes on the 29th of December 2018. But at least I got to see Slayer one final time 3 weeks before seeing Beyond Creation for the 1st time. A great time for metal gigs.
When the travel ban is over, PLEASE COME BACK TO BALTIMORE, MARYLAND, USA!! Beyond Creation was the best performance I had seen in a long time!! This was over 5 years ago and it still resonates with me to this day!! I love what I have heard from the new album and I NEED TO HEAR IT LIVE!!!
I've never understand hype around archspire tbh, compositions aren's anything special, vocals are annoying (he has crazy good technique I just personally dont like it) and guitar parts are nowhere near the Necrophagist level (people like to compare these bands) First fragment is nice tho. I would place Alkaloid and Ulcerate in top tier with Obscura and BC.
@@bladeintoeye4096 archspire are good at their insane speed.. Their bassist is insane.. They just released one album so you can't really judge on guitar work for that album.. Vocals I don't like it either but that's the only technique possible for that speed I guess
Thanks for your music. It's a blessing to those who know the difference between the two. On the one hand or the other, music can tear down or build up, and this isn't trash like most of what I hear. This has power in it to lift me up and help me carry on.
Best song on the album, more reminiscent of Earthborn and The Aura, and the tempo change at 3:51 is one of the best moments on the album, and 5:55 reminds me of the outro to Neurotical Transmissions, with the tempo change into a melodic "heavy metal" groove.
I very much agree, though personally my top favorite parts are the 05:00 one and the three repeats -- to me that guitar part under the vocals is as close to the classical counterpoint feel as metal gets, but really, that song is just chock-full of incredible sections (03:04, 04:34, you name it) By the way, it's not the first time I see one of your comments and check out your channel/playlists; you effin' rule for showcasing the first two Obliveon albums! 🍻

@@Metalton95 If your music has Obliveon, Coroner, etc. influences you can count on me to give it a listen! And indeed, I don't really care for these other bands you named, except Tankard -- I think they're great, even though maybe it's just because I think they're hilarious haha
@@kafkapharnaum2690 I've never been a fan of too obvious humour in music (Nuclear Assault, Tankard, Anthrax, Suicidal Tendencies), so it really isn't my cup of tea, although dry, dark sarcasm can be pretty effective on me, haha. Perhaps I'm too serious, when it comes to music. After your comment, I ended up clearing my playlists, so I could gather all the tech thrash (and proto tech death) in one big playlist, and while listening to those songs, I finally got the needed inspiration to finish up some long dormant songs, so thank you! :D If you want to check out my band, it's "Mental Coma". Currently, we're officially "inactive" atm - but not behind the scenes. Not really "tech thrash" yet, since we used to be 100% stereotypical Slayer/Sepultura/Kreator thrash, but we're transitioning after our change to our new singer, so the music is getting more intricate :)
@@Metalton95 Wow, pleased to hear that! Mental Coma, noted -- I just subbed and will be on the lookout. Beyond Creation is like the natural evolution of Necrophagist, I'm so happy I found them
More like a downgrade. I sincerely hope Necrophagist would never go soft adding acoustic/cleans and excessive atmospherics.

Beyond Creation best technical death metal band ever
Totally agree with you!!!!!
They're more progressive than technical. Archspire are more technical. Beyond Creation, I would consider more prog death.
@@eamonahern7495 you're right but I think they can be considered both progressiv and technical
Way more progressiv than Archspire although
archspire the same...
Eamon Ahern I have a difficult time drawing a line between the two. To me, they’re basically both.

The best 2 metal bands on the scene right now!! So glad to see Josh doing Sylosis stuff again
