Our local coop known as the robbing b-stard shop is the only shop in our village. Its MUCH cheaper including fuel to do a 100 mile round trip to get weekly shop. Plus tourists empty the shops of goods by about 11am anyway.
Hi mate, just to say I like your videos about eating frugally, very apt for this world post Brexit and COVID when everything changed. I love finding bargains and can also cook, so I'll give you a tip for your next low budget supermarket challenge and that is to look in the offal section in the meat freezers, some amazing bargains like liver, kidneys, heart and chicken livers ect.. you could buy enough liver to last for a week easily for under £2 ! By the way, Liver pasties are delicious.
Co op has been around since before morrissons. It was the first corner shop and they used to accept tabs for people who couldn't pay. Now I think co op is less towards the people and more about profit.
I’d love to see you do a challenge like Atomic Shrimp does here on RUclips. Buying the cheapest item in each category like veg, fruit, etc etc. Love your videos ❤
If you can't stretch to cream, try the dairylea (or supermarket own brand) cheese triangles. Will melt it and provide creamy taste you need for not a lot.
Not gonna lie clicked on this hoping you were gonna be eating co op pizza cos I swear there pizzas are the best supermarket pizzas around and you can get two pizzas and a pack of Coke Zero or Diet Coke or Budweiser for £6 so expected you to have pizza in all honesty. Co op are such a underrated supermarket
Hi Sam, I agree, save the funeral for later I know the standard UK-US soup is served HOT. I tend to prefer things at room temp. IF you're going to have chilled or room temp soup it simply needs a bit more herbs, spices and or salt. Just a friendly tip. and here's another.... Whenever I'm doing a mult-step recipe, even if it's my own...i kind of write it down. I once forgot to put sugar in a cake hahaha. Realizing it right after I put the pan in the oven I had to pull it right out again. stir the sugar in and replace it in the hot ove. Of course shortly after that I learned about putting hot syrups on hot cakes. This was Fun Tim. hugs to the doggo and Kaetchen. Jim Mexico
Love the channel 🙏, I will dig in when I get some time , Wife Marra's watching you on the big tv , I love the way you edit and you are a brilliant Host ! Keep up the great Video's Steve💚 in Dorset 🇬🇧
@3llio - sam doesn't actually own a microwave and that is more than ok, because everyone has their preferences. Another great video Sam! - keep up the good work 😊, and as a video series suggestion, I think you should attempt to live off foods 24 hrs alphabetically and see how long it takes you, say for instance 24 hrs living off only foods that start with the letter "A" Best Wishes!, Melissa Blackpool 😊😊
Great video, Sam! Really appreciate you taking my feedback onboard from the last video and adding the prices of each item in the corner, I loved that! (Especially with the little sound effect) 😂
i have an idea for you . its baced on a video you did the most expencive item from each aisle how about doing the most expensive in 1st aisle then next aisle the cheapest ect ect
This video got me thinking that you should choose your favourite items from earlier vids as well and buy those and donate to foodbank. For example flavoures pre-cooked rice or best tasting veggie mix in a tin or things that have best value.
Use cream cheese instead of butter -- some added to veg soup makes it creamy. It's the way I do it. I have to live on a tight budget -- calories budget and £££s budget !
12:26 I think there’s mileage out of that idea. How many days can you last on the same ingredients for each meal (eg for breakfast: banana, yogurt, oats every breakfast)...
🏴❤️🏴 macaroni cheese until the cheese sauce ran out, then just macaroni boiled, 7 weeks, worse time ever but I got through it and made sure it was never that bad again 🏴❤️🏴
I tried making soup once with mixed frozen veg when I was skint, it is the worst thing I've ever cooked 😂 I'm an alright cook too. It was so bad it made my kids cry. No one could it eat it
They dont. Everyone on earth uses Trainline to book unless they physically have no other choice but a ticket machine. Its just a way to try and sell the app
Find the co-op so overpriced but you did well. Wouldn’t have thought of making fritters with banana and breadcrumbs! So right about our July being soup weather 😂 Where is the UK summer?!
The Co-Op is not a supermarket it's a glorified corner shop and their prices reflect that.
Yes as an example a 4 pint bottle of milk 20p dearer than a supermarket

Food...funeral services.....here is hoping the food isn't SO bad you need the funeral services afterwards!
Luckily it was all excellent!
Yooo

Amazing! Welcome in :)
A new Sam Wilder video. I am now happy
i like how for a change you purchased some seasoning and flavouring packs instead of using whatever herbs spices you allowed yourself from your pantry
Had to get errands done this morning, so I missed Sam Wilder with my coffee. Looks like Wilder with Lunch this week. Dollar Tree bologna🤩
9:56 Love the Soup song. I have a strong desire to have soup now !
I was feeling soup-er. Had to sing

@@MissSophie3 I have a different yet similar video planned… :)
@@SamWilder. yay! Looking forward to it!
Imo a bit pointless copying an idea already done
@@keithparker1346 Not really copying, anything and everything new takes inspiration from something created before it.
@@keithparker1346 I said a challenge “like” not the same
Congratulations on the sponsor!!! Hopefully more growth for the channel, cause I honestly enjoy watching :)

you did well there, Coop is super expensive.
Thank you!
I think Coop now fall into the trap of being convenience stores rather than a big supermarket and convenience stores are notoriously expensive
@@keithparker1346 yes deffo, the few times I’ve been to one it’s just for a few bits, no way I would do a big shop in there !
Yes same here, would bankrupt you if you did a big shop!

Banana on toast is the most underrated and healthy breakfast ever

Another great challenge. The Co-Op aren't the cheapest, but the quality usually tends to be reasonable.
Great food, I like the look of the teriyaki and bread crumb coated chicken 🍗
It was super tasty!
another great vid sam 👍
Thanks!
The food looks great, given me some ideas there, thanks
I never add cream to my soup. I love the taste of the veg & seasoning.
Broccoli is the best vegetable ever, just saying.
Love these videos keep them up, once a week not enough😂!
14:36 please tell me you removed the hair?! Great video 😊
You could try doing the £10 challenge with the coop £5 freezer deal?
Thank you for the video!
I'm packing my house getting ready to emigrate, had you on while im boxing stuff and literally guffawed at that last line in the vid 😂😂😂

They surprised me
@@SamWilder. 👍
😂 thought your Aussie accent pretty good. Melbourne Australia 😊
I love these videos 🫶🏽
Mmmmm broccoli with added microplastics... yummy yummy get it in my tummy 😅
Soup didn't look bad to be honest. An oxo would help
Hi how are you doing
You should do tesco
I should!
Co op do a £5 deal of fish, veg, magnums etc Should have tried that. Love your videos
Interesting
A sponsor!! ❤❤
I tried making soup once with mixed frozen veg when I was skint, it is the worst thing I've ever cooked 😂 I'm an alright cook too. It was so bad it made my kids cry. No one could it eat it
Do you have to buy a membership to shop co-op
People use physical train tickets? I dont think ive had one in decades.
They dont. Everyone on earth uses Trainline to book unless they physically have no other choice but a ticket machine. Its just a way to try and sell the app
I still use physical train tickets my phone doesn't support apps.
Speaking from experience, I've found their funeral service to be excellent.
love ur videos are u from uk coop more expensive than m and s used do reductions 7,30pm its now 3pm i live next door to coop
Alright new challenge....try this in america XD
Now try doing the same challenge in the green coop
Freeze bread if you worry it won't keep.
Are you living in the north of Kent Sam?
I'd rather die than have all those vegetables in such a short period of time... Lucky the Co-op can facilitate me as well!
Love your videos. You are always super inventive. However, broccoli is ok but it's not a God tier veg 😉
Hows the job going Sam? Im on my 10th week :)
@@apexoldguy good thank you! Contract ends in a couple of weeks but then I have a short time off and then back to it! Glad yours is going well dude :)
what is GBD when frying? and loved this one sam
Golden brown delicious!
With the amount of oil used you may as well use the butter 😂😂
this is so wild to me, where i live the chicken alone would have been 10 pounds
Did anyone notice just how quickly those bananas ripened that definitely was not 2 days after you brought them Sam who you kidding?!
I can assure you it was but okay haha
My bananas do this all the time too its normal
What breed of pup is that? Xx
Co-op was never considered to be cheap 😊
Not only do I not like broccoli, I do not like any veg 😂
I don't know why but you remind me of someone from the in betweeners 😂
Prediction before I start the video: Not for long.
Hello Sam 😊
Hello 😊
Before even watching I'm going say lasts 2 days

Full Metal Alchemist hands down.

I was surprised with the haul! Banana fritters are always great!
2 pizzas and 4 cans of coke or 4 bottles of bud is a banging deal
Can you still be crazy and like broccoli?
@@AmyDaisy69 yeah probably 🥦
Next video i spent £10
On my mums co op funeral
😂
Butter your bread no problem
You’d be surprised the stick I’d get 😂😂
@@SamWilder. honestly i admire your dedication but I think you should allow this exception and ignore the stick
Co op has become an awful shop, to avoid at all costs. Very expensive and stock mostly convenience processed rubbish.
Broccoli is the absolute GOAT, end of discussion. If you don't like it then you're a psychopath, just saying. 😉
Hard agree
@14:38 ew you ate a hair
