The scariest Story of my life was in 2012 I was 8 years old and we went to Ukraine for 21 days. And at the border of Poland and Ukraine we was stoppet by the SWAT of the Ukraine. My Father want to know what is going on and the man asked us and asked over 30 minutes. That minutes felt like hours! After my father answers all questions the man took out a Passport it was my Passport which we forgot at the border. After that I was completely shocked. Have a good time and stay healthy!!
A summary: 0:33 the Philippines: A ferry boat trip between 2 cities was cancelled due to the ride and bad weather, causing Drew and a friend to negotiate travel options via private small boats with the locals. At some point the weather went bad, the waves were large, not to mention no one had life jackets, and 10 people were cramped on a small boat. Drew believed he would drown at sea, but 8 hours later after a predicted 4 hour trip, he and others arrived at shore safely 3:04 Republic of the Congo: a bad tour guide demanded money (a “tip”) from Drew, even though he said that everything would be free. Drew was paying for everything: food, water, and local services. He disagreed with the idea of a tip, and the guide went crazy. Luckily a native speaker was able to calm the situation down, and Drew went back to his hotel. Later on, said guide greeted him at his door and demanded money again. Drew immediately closed and locked the door, then called security, who escorted out. Later that same day, he received a call from security saying the guy was screaming and looking for his room everywhere. Drew changed rooms so that they guide wouldn’t know where he was. Due to this, Drew was scared to leave his apartment and leaved to see the city at weird times. In Drew’s words, he’s a definite criminal and lunatic. 6:19 Goa, India: crappy chicken curry gives Drew a very bad case of food poisoning on his first few days of 3 months or so in India. He was so weak, he couldn’t even crawl quickly to the toilet. He ended up vomiting and pooping on the floor, naked, slowly crawling to the toilet. This took 3 hours, and he eventually got the hotel he was in to purchase medication. Because it worked slowly, it did stop vomiting and Diarrhea, however he was knocked out for a few more days, extremely tired and weary. He goes vegetarian for the entirety of his remaining trip.

Hey Drew, I'm from Goa and was just curious to know the name of the restaurant in Goa if you recollect. My worst case of food poisoning was having raw oysters at the dampa sea food market in Manila. Just as you described, I passed out as soon as I landed Siargao and was out cold for 3 days. Glad you're safe and I really enjoy your content. I love the stories you put out. True to heart. Hope this pandemic ends soon and you complete the rest of your planned trips. Looking forward to those stories.

8:22 I think most of European can't diggest Indian food. So as a Indian if you can't eat spicy food don't go for curries in restraunt or else where better to with light food or veggies Even for normal person like I can't eat heavy food for more then twice a week. But I really don't know about food posining because in mostly restaurant chicken gets halal early in the morning or when you place order but it takes time though, and then kept in refregerators for a day, maybe its not suitable for you I guess
The way you described the food poisoning sounds exactly like what having colitis is like. Exactly. Day in and day out, constant for weeks or months at a time. I dropped almost 90 pounds in a matter of a few months. It's horrible. I'm thankful for the medication that finally worked to put me almost completely on remission. Flare ups and relapses happen, but it's not a daily thing anymore. Very sorry you had to experience that, i know how close to death (or wishing death) it makes you feel.
I've been in a similar situation as yours in the boat in Thailand, the weather can change so quickly, and get so dark. I was in a much larger boat but it was super choppy and still scary, can only imagine how it was in that small boat. Beat advice I've got, is if you're travelling by boat, travel in a big one and the earlier you can travel the better! Much better in the day in terms of weather and hours of light.
I’ve visited India because it’s my mother nation a couple of times and I always get food poisoning or diarrhoea because of how weak and comfortable our immune system gets in these rich nations with clean food, water and whatnot so when we go to countries that are not so rich yeahhh our immune system isn’t familiar with it. But u go to these type of countries every single month so damn that’s must be a very severe case.
i subbed... food poisoning can happen anywhere.. i got it the worst from CEDARS on 1960 in houston, TX.. 2 weeks crawling around doing what you did.. i didnt get fired from work because that was where the Christmas party was and everyone seen me there acting 100%... they are out of business now, thank GOD
The worst food poisoning I ever had in my life happened to be also in India. Had a grilled fish on a nice fancy dinner I guess somewhere by Chennai. Because we were on the coast seafood was preferred. The next day between the cramps, vomit etc I passed out on fever and extreme weakness. My grandad as a doctor he was gave me medication but didn’t seem to work at the moment. I was taken to the car by our driver and hotel staff. Couldn’t walk nor do anything at all. The whole day passed in blank for me, can’t remember anything till late night the next day. Scary actually.
One of my scary traveling stories was when my friend and I travelled to Hongkong and at around 11PM we were walking in Tsim Tsa Tsui area. We got to a dark narrow alley of Hongkong's apartment buildings, when one guy approached us and offered DRUGS. And I simply said, "no thanks" and he looked cool, but my friend and I looked at each other and walked out of there faster.
Have you had any scary stories happen to you while on the road? I'd love to hear them!!

R.I.P
Does that was when euro 2012 was starting or nah
That money guy story was legit scary to hear
You know that he doesn’t hate these countries when he says the Phillipines
A summary:
0:33 the Philippines: A ferry boat trip between 2 cities was cancelled due to the ride and bad weather, causing Drew and a friend to negotiate travel options via private small boats with the locals. At some point the weather went bad, the waves were large, not to mention no one had life jackets, and 10 people were cramped on a small boat. Drew believed he would drown at sea, but 8 hours later after a predicted 4 hour trip, he and others arrived at shore safely
3:04 Republic of the Congo: a bad tour guide demanded money (a “tip”) from Drew, even though he said that everything would be free.
Lol why would you waste your time writing this for other ppl… is easier to just watch the video
@@louiset7053 and imagine wasting your time to don't appreciate this guy this is much better for people who likes reading plus it is much simpler so stop wasting your time commenting this trash comment
When in India go vegetarian! Don’t learn the lesson the hard way 😂
Not a very good idea in Kerala, he will have to starve, esp in North Kerala.

Oh my I am so sorry about your food poisoning hopefully you are feeling better....
The scariest part of travelling is when you were asked for a tip. I mean a forced tip.
That’s robbery🤣

That Brazzaville story was actually scary. I would not know what to do if I was in a situation with some nutjob demanding money
Except 80%, if not over 90% of population are like that.
I had the worst food poisoning on a holiday years ago when I was in my grandparents house which is out of the city.I experienced the EXACT same situation like you.

8:22 I think most of European can't diggest Indian food.
So as a Indian if you can't eat spicy food don't go for curries in restraunt or else where better to with light food or veggies
Even for normal person like I can't eat heavy food for more then twice a week.
But I really don't know about food posining because in mostly restaurant chicken gets halal early in the morning or when you place order but it takes time though,
and then kept in refregerators for a day, maybe its not suitable for you I guess

Goa?? Really there people's r so literate and rich..
It's not that the food was bad. It's just that Indian food has a lot of spices and people from abroad, their digestion system is not used to it.
And full of Cholera

I've been in a similar situation as yours in the boat in Thailand, the weather can change so quickly, and get so dark. I was in a much larger boat but it was super choppy and still scary, can only imagine how it was in that small boat.
Beat advice I've got, is if you're travelling by boat, travel in a big one and the earlier you can travel the better! Much better in the day in terms of weather and hours of light.

drew, i can not see you hating anything, anyone, or anyplace. it's awesome.
From my exp in india never eat food from roadside hotels and stuff like dat
You’re such a champ. If any of these things happened to me I would never leave my room, period.
Nah this was the best one! Glad you pulled through!
U r a great narrator man!!!! 😃
As a Goan, I'm sorry that you had a bad experience there but hopefully you will come back to visit Goa as it is a beautiful state
You don't need to be sorry for the dodgy food preparation in one certain restaurant. I've been to Goa and I love it there, he probably does too.

Scary actually.
how was your india trip in general and also why its causing food poisoning? is it because of the spices they add ?
@@s4stats698 it’s more like the lack of higiene in general, sometimes it can be a gamble, plus spices cover up any bad smell

All jokes aside that food poisoning sounded bad
One of my scary traveling stories was when my friend and I travelled to Hongkong and at around 11PM we were walking in Tsim Tsa Tsui area. We got to a dark narrow alley of Hongkong's apartment buildings, when one guy approached us and offered DRUGS. And I simply said, "no thanks" and he looked cool, but my friend and I looked at each other and walked out of there faster.
That’s not really that bad?!?
