this i mabey one of my favorites because i have a lot of Scottish family and one of the best parts is yoy can even hear the background noise of the bagpipes, you can hear it at the beginning the best but as the bagpipes play the have a very low sounding tone drom the air that plays as you blow its very hard to hear but if you hear a bagpipe by itself you will hear it

@Griesmayer With good archers, you don't need to micro them. As the Britons, you could just have a bunch of longbowmen eliminate everything before they got to you. When you got fully upgraded, they were unstoppable. With limited orders, it was a massacre.

This is true, got it confused with perfusion. The problem is if you make huskarls I will counter with knights/infantry and if you make units other than huskarls the longbowmen will just cut them down. Huskarls mixed with other units may work but if I do not micro the archers they will shoot at the other units too and murder them and leaving huskarls facing heavy infantry/cavalry which will kill them in equal numbers.
And then the only thing you needed was a few cavaliers and you killed them aswell. It helped that until they got Anarchy they still had to make them from castles- which you could just besiege with archers due to your superior range.

It's just the best army has lots of longbowmen :) Generally, as Britons, archers, crossbowmen with men-at-arms and switching to pikemen and Longbowmen later on. Cavalry were used mainly as raiders, but sometimes I needed them to get rid of siege equipment. It all really comes down to what's happening in the game.
if you like pikemen you should take a look to the new expantion pack "forgotten empires" and play as the incas their unique unite is a kind of pikeman with better attack, speed, hp, and with short range (1 point of range)
@FildasKirk I like the Goths too, don't need that much stone for those castles, so more villagers left to work on farms and wood... I like the Imperial +10 pop fact of the Goths too, I never build walls, so it's for me one of my greatest Civilizations, my favorite is the Mayans though...
also you forgot the creation speed rates for the barracks of the goths, so sending heavy infatry or heavy cavalry to them is futile in a long game because if you send them infantry they will send you losts of champions, if you send them cavalry they will respond with tons of halberdiers and if you as britons send archers they respond with tons of huskarls
Yeah, good luck with that. I've done this years ago and very recently on HD version- you can easily force a reaction out of any player to go out and kill those longbowmen and it just won't happen.
As I have repeatedly mentioned, I will not let your huskarls reach my longbowmen. They aren't going to take damage. Why exactly would your towncentres help? Longbowmen outrange them too you realise. Also, note that you'd need a castle to produce huskarls (and yes I am aware that their technology allows production from barracks, but that's pretty late. I'd already have surrounded the base with crossbowmen with their also silly range
@Griesmayer They are only as fast as other cavalry. It's not fast enough. Longbowmen are cheap, have a strong attack and very long range and are the most accurate archer in the game. They mow down anything coming.

You're missing the point. With longbowmen I can indefinitely retreat. Rams and huskarls will still die quickly (but this is not the point I am making) I literally do not care if you have faster troop production since they still have to walk at me and actually reach the longbowmen, which is so easy to stop or at least delay enough to kill them all anyway. And the second I gain any advantage, you're done because I can chase you all the way to your base and still be out of range.
best hand to hand combat unit: teutonic knight 10 default armor - 2 pierce armor max armor stats: about 16-18 armor max with 10 - 12 pierce armor max ( or so i recall ) 20 atk and i think it was 60-100 health/hp? best arrow resistant unit: siege ram 190 pierce arrmor BUT if we are talking foot unit - huskarl but by far the teutonic knight of the teutons is the best unit overall gimme an army of 100 of those motherfuckers ill decimate ur ass. sorry just wanted to say this last thing ill stop posting now
chris conrad i moly woped my brother with 30 tectonic knights 15 hand cannons (they did jack shit) and 5 trebuchets tectonic knights are easly the best, he also had 6 castles and a bigger army and i had plenty of left over troops
xX#yoloswagsalot360noscopehaxmasterFTWXx ben i once had a 4 v 4 highland custom map. it was me, my brother, my cousin and best friend vs some random dudes. the random guys went with the britons. i chose the goths, my brother chose the teutons, my cousin chose the aztecs, and my best friend chose the huns. we were divided on the map by team so all 3 of your allies were nearby. cheats were disabled. we were in the imperial age by the time our opponents were in the fudal age. it was simple we started off with a mill so we could build farms and had the ladies do the farming ( i tested this theroy out and women do gather farm food slightly quicker than the males) the males would do the lumberjacking. i always had 75 villiagers: 25 farmers, 10 lumber jacks, 15 gold miners, 15 stone miners, 10 builders. i would purely create an army of 100 paldins as they are, imo, thee most op unit other than my unique unit the huskarl. i always had 25 huskarls. my brother would have an army of 150 tuetonic knights. 50 villigers. my cousin woukd have an arny of 50 villagers and 150 jaguar warriors as for my friend hed have 50 villagers and 150 tarkans. our stratagy was simple. the tarkans would go in first to do their bonus damage to buildings, destroying gates, towers, castles and military buildings like: barracks, archery range, stables, and seige workshops. after that my brother and i would send in our army of paladins (for any straglers that run from battle) and tueton knights as a distraction as they do have the most base armor overall other units while my paladins fk up the enemy in addition to my cousins jaguar warrior lending aid. we decimated our opponents. by the time we won our last enemy had barricaded himself in the corner with multiple towers and his army of 150. his army of 150 champions was no match for our army of 525 military units. he got his ass whooped in less than 1 minute
are you a noob?, obviously when you play as Goths you must build 2 or 3 towncenters and lots of barracks so if you try to invade the troops respawn almost instantly when you kill them, Britons are a good civ but they are not invincible goths could easily overide them just because they get a very good unit that resists proyectiles very well (all civs have its fails)

you only need 1 castle to research their unique technologies then you only have to build barracks to produce them
also you forgot Goths give to all their infantry atack +1 bonus vs buildings so (Huskarls +Champions) inside just Capped Rams = Wall destruction.
if you use knights then i get pikemen or halberdier as simple as that.
