thanks for this comparison video. Rage 2 takes place 30 years after the events of the first game. in that time, all the mountains and canyons seem to have eroded away. you cant even find any of the old locations from the first game, Hagar or Outrigger settlements, or any of that location for that matter. i am a big fan of both games tho, and enjoy the hell out of both of them. have a good one.
That’s what annoyed me about the 2nd Game, I’d love to have visited the Hagar or Outrigger settlements to see what happened plus I’d love to have visited the Dead City again.
@@adamalanhenderson9369 the dead city is achualy in the game. Abit smaller than it was in the first game but you go there for the second story quest for the sciance dude.
I enjoy the cell-shade style graphics. Much like borderlands, RAGE shares similar style in graphics. It’s a shame they got rid of the cell-shade style and went for cartoony realistic graphics in RAGE 2. The graphics in 2 remind me of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, All cartoony and bright. Don’t get me wrong, RAGE 2 looks amazing. But, they should have kept the cell-shade style
I never noticed how much they ruined rage...the focused too much on making another doom game that they forgot this was something unique...they could've had a great game but decided to make an alternative version of doom....
@@holo7070 rage 1 is a more focused experience that feels like a classic. Rage 2 feels like everything else that’s open world and post apocalyptic. The first one is better by miles

Rage 2 is shit, not a good sequel at all. Gunplay its the only good thing about it but id software (doom devs) help them w Gunplay infact its exactly the same of doom. Story is boring and bad written the mc seem autistic in the way he answers to others characters. The map is small and empty (only 4 types of side quest over and over) but at least its good looking. Vehicles are not good or bad but most of them are useless to use even if u want to mesa around. So i almost finished the game thanks to the doom like Gunplay because its actually funny but its not even a sequel at all. Everything that was a caracteristic in rage 1 was deleted in rage 2 grindind was rewarding and funny in rage 1 in 2 its Just go to A then To B, kill everyone and repeat
Crazy how much cleaner and better the cleaner game looks. Rage 2 whilst I’m enjoying it a lot is blurry and the the graphics really aren’t all that good in game. They aren’t bad but it’s got this constant blurry thing going on with it
I actually think it's a shame that Rage 2 didn't deal with the environment of Part 1 quite as authentically. Mountain ranges and certain places in general are no longer recognizable in Rage 2. Wellspring can definitely be accepted as an expansion over the 30 years. but unfortunately exemplary features are missing. And what annoys me even more is that the dead city is no longer accessible. I mean that you can see it from the end of the map, but unfortunately you can't enter it. Nevertheless, Rage is a solid and good shooter.
They didn’t have enough time, I’d software had to make another doom game so they rushed rage 2 and the dlc and reused some of the assets for doom eternal

Terraforming is a possibility and with the eco pods perhaps things changed too. Settlements can come and go

Well if I were to guess I'm sure a lot of demolition went down. Like clearing out mountains and cliffs to make room for expansion.
