@@Weketeke how do you know? You played rage 2 already? Btw thanks for the input on the first game, I guess I'll just have to wait for rage 2 reviews before I put any money into it.
“Have you thought about telling other developers how to make pretty games that run good?” - Best one, TELL THEM ID, at least tell Bethesda, they’re your publisher ffs!
Tim is easily one of my favorite game devs. You can really tell how passionate he is about his job. I remember watching him being interviewed when the first rage was still in development and i just can't help but root for the bloke. Really hope Rage 2 lives up to the promise.
Look up guys who used to work at id but left years ago and who now have RUclips channels. One super nice original Doom developer in particular will tell you all about what a creep, a liar and a bully this “man” is. And he made sure to sabotage soft, meek and nice guys who would just walk away. But now after all these years a couple of them are speaking up.
The first live action trailer gave it away for me, when the mysterious womanly figure dressed in walker's black combat suit comes in the corner of screen. It's cool to hear the actual dev confirm on this though.
I'm really looking forward to this game. I actually enjoyed the first Rage and played it through a few times. Very excited to see what they can do with that world with the new technology they have.
Box Boi ye I guess it doesn't need it, with its upgrades and increasing amounts of weapons, they did say something about a skill tree tho which excites me
Game Informer continues to cover the games I'm excited for that I feel don't get a lot of love elsewhere, which I appreciate very much. Also, Leo continues to kill it with Rapid Fire Questions. Thanks for the vids GI team!
Only thing I didn't like hearing was the microtransactions bit. I've never liked the idea of a singleplayer only game with no multiplayer in any sort having microtransactions. Especially since they're implying they may have paid expansions or DLC. Either support that with the microtransactions and have those be entirely free or just have us pay 20-30 dollars for a pass. I can't take both.
Brandon P. I'm fine with some paid DLC, and I guess I'm fine with micro transactions if they don't make your character better and aren't intrusive, even tho they're weird in this kinda game
@@jobelthirty1294 No. He clearly said, "you'll have to wait and see what we do" which to me is code for "they're going to be in there in some form but we aren't allowed to say anything yet because it will tick people off"

@@mdd4296 Yup!! The moment it went on Steam, I moved my account there. No regret since October of 2017, and in case of QC PTS I finally could move my account 2 months ago. That launcher is hated on the mod and QC community, avoid it.
I will either come back to this video upon release and be very happy about the fact that they kept to their word, but I could also see this going NMS on us.
I know it's meant to be run and gun just like RAGE 1 and DOOM, but there was a tiny tiny tiny bit of stealth in Rage 1 and a sniper and a random crossbow, I really hope there is a sniper in RAGE 2, it's just a nice change of pace every now and then and would probably be even more valid in the sequal since it is actualy Openworld now
I am so extremely happy that this is happening. RAGE is one of my top 5 most underrated games ever (right up there with Bulletstorm) and I could not name a better game to get a sequel. The fact that it's going to retain RAGE 1's amazing gunplay but give us a better world is literally exactly what I wanted. That all said, no, Unreal Tournament 2004 was the best, most balanced arena shooter ever. Quake 3 was an extremely close second, but you ain't got skill until you can headshot 3 people in a row with the saw launcher - around 2 corners, blind. No hard feelings, Tim. Just please make absolutely sure RAGE 2 doesn't suck. After the total sh*tshow that 2018 has been, I can't handle any massive gaming fails in 2019.
Quake 3's movement is faster than Unreal Tournament's so that compensates for the lack of a headshot mechanic. Takes just as much skill to aim in Quake. The movement in Quake (strafe jumping) is just more fun and skillful overall. Quake 3 is the best arena shooter imo.
I wonder how the skill tree works 1:30 without levelling, maybe it's just not traditional levelling, and I wonder what separates weapon mods and upgrades
either finding upgrade in the world or as quest reward weapon mods and upgrades are easy to separate. Upgrade are permanent incremental improvements while mods have ups and down, some of them are mutually exclusive and they can be removed.
@@mdd4296 thanks ye that sounds about right, I was thinking something similar, and I think u could buy a couple simple upgrades in Rage 1, and maybe u get skill points from arks, eco pods, or after story quests
Tim Willits my man! Yes, Quake3 is still the best competitive shooter to date, and it does have swimming, ha! Excited for rage 2 and will be an excellent shooter without a doubt. It's good they don't chase borderlands but I wouldn't mind them doing so, as the RPG element works really well in shooters and it is fun, but ID software is still the king on how a their shooters feel compared with others.
