      Are there any females that work in the oil rig industry? How hard are the conditions? How long to you plan to work there? Its such a physical demanding job-one must be in top shape?

      Kilee Rainbow, I just started watching your vlogs and have really enjoyed them. My husband and I both work in the oil field in West Texas as sand coordinators. We work 28 on and 14 off and super fortunate to work together for the same company and have the same schedule. We have gone through military deployments together before we joined the oil field life and it’s really good to be supportive of each other. Keep up the videos and Tim, if I see you on location there will be a steak on the grill with your name on it!

      Kilee Rainbow hey kilee, so my husband just told me he had a couple opportunities in Destin Florida so he wanted us to all move. But my family and shop are all here in North Carolina and my 4 year old daughter is super close to my parents. And we just had a baby and she is only two months old. We are thinking why can’t we have both the shop and the business in Florida but to be able to do that he has to live there and possibly come home once a month probably for one week. It broke my heart when he told me this, because I’m so worried that he won’t see our kids really grow. I’m also worried about us growing as a married couple, i know it’s going to suck. I hope you can give me some advice, thank you.

    My husband will be here in 2 days!!! We've been apart since March. I am 38 weeks pregnant and I'll be having my csection on the 31st. But he'll be here for 42 days! I hope we'll be able to do fun things even though I'll be recovering.

    My wife and I have been on a long distance relationship for two years now. She's in Mexico and I'm in Colorado. I tried to go see her every couple months for at least 10 days. It is hard to part away. Hoping she can be here in a year or so. Immigration process is very slow

    We may possibly be a long distance marriage because my husband got an offer in a different state. It's only a 3 hour drive so we can probably meet on weekends, but I think it will still be hard. We are in the contemplating stage right now, because his pay will be better but we have to take into consideration the extra expense of having 2 places to live, different taxes, and opportunity costs. How did you guys weigh the financial pros and cons? I think if it was a significant bump vs a job he can find near us now it would be easy the the bump will be just enough to support him living in a different state so it's a bit difficult to choose.
    Also, do you guys worry about any affairs when apart?
    I loved your thinking at the end that you both recognize it's as hard as it is for the other person, just different. Looks like you guys have a good relationship :)

    • @KileeRainbow

      hi! for Tims job, he is provided housing. if we had to do housing there it probably wouldn't be worth it. his job pays double what he would make here though! so even having to buy the plane tickets is worth it.
      we dont worry about affairs. if I did I wouldn't be married to him. not to mention he doesn't have any time when he's there and i think we both feel secure in our relationship so we dont have to worry! I think its important to make sure of that before committing to any kind of long distance job.

      Kilee Rainbow I’ve been hesitant to ask this but why is it so challenging for Tim to find an equally good job and/or one with the same pay, in Florida or NC? In the part of Canada where I am, there are very few fields where finding a job would be nearly impossible and that such a long distance would be required. Hope you don’t mind me asking this, I’ve just always been confused about this when watching your vlogs.

    • @KileeRainbow
      @KileeRainbow  5 лет назад +1

      Honestly, the oilfield just pays really really well. He makes significantly more than we would make both working as restaurant managers (or any other job) here or in NC. Because the oil industry is location specific there’s nothing like it in NC or FL. He would have to leave the industry to work in Florida or NC & in the long run if he puts in the work now he can work up to a position that pays even better & requires less time working (for example 2 weeks working/2 weeks off is a common schedule in the industry also) honestly the job market in NC (& here in Florida) is not that great. Especially in Florida, the pay is low based on the cost of living & there aren’t many good jobs here unless you want to work in tourism. It’s the ultimate goal for him to eventually work a different schedule or do something closer to home once he has more experience that can be used in other industries.

    • @KileeRainbow
      @KileeRainbow  5 лет назад +1

      I know people also wonder why we don’t move to Texas then, if that’s the only place for this job, but because of the success of the oilfield in west Texas the cost of living there is very very high. He also moves around often so there’s not much of a chance he would even be able to come home if we did live out there.

    • @emilydesrocherkhozeev9474

      Kilee Rainbow Thanks for explaining 😊 Hopefully Tim is able to get to a point soon where he is able to get a 2 week on 2 week off schedule! That doesn’t seem too bad.
      I remember you explaining why moving to Texas wouldn’t be the best decision and I completely see your point on that. It will be nice for you to be closer to friends and family in NC. Tim’s grandma is superwoman if she is taking Kali on a flight all by herself (how long will the flight be?). My parents are quite involved with my kids and even my mom who is super grandma, would probably be too nervous to take my almost 2 year old on a plane alone 😆 My 4 year old she would be able to handle though.
