- Actor Alan Rickman, known for films including Harry Potter, Die Hard, Truly Madly Deeply and Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, has died at the age of 69. The star was suffering from cancer, his family said. His agent confirmed the news to BBC News.

A few days ago I had to make a play about Harry Potter, and of course Professor Snape character play a big part of the play. I studied everything from the way he talks and walks for this play. I googled them until today, while I was searching for a Snape scene in Harry Potter, I stumbled upon this terrible news. I feel like giving up on writing the scripts.. This is so sad. R.I.P Alan Rickman.
I was on work today and i listened to radio when i heard that alan rickman died.... literally my eyes started to water... such an amazing actor doesnt deserve to die yet :( May he rest in peace and hogwarts be with him :)
My favorite performances of his will always be in "sense & sensibility" and "Quigley down under". He was underrated in my opinion, and underutilized.
