Love hearing the sound of the class 20 deisel locos...rembered when i was a kid would rush down to the tracks to see them even when i was having a bath, ran butt naked with my aunt chasing after me....hahaha those were the days
Brilliant,, Deltic dragging a 66,, Fking Epic. The delay between puffs of Clag on the pair of 37s tickled me,, Sulzer 47 sounded lovely. Great Collection of Traction. 👍
Thats what happens when 2 locos are coupled in multiple, and worked by the leading cab controls. The delay to the second loco just adds to the splendour.
Thanks very much, Mike. Hope you're well. Unfortunately, there isn't while we respect the rules in place. I published a similar video in 2016, which proved to be fairly popular, so I thought I'd create a second version for my subscribers and others in these challenging times.
Thank you! Yeah I'm still baffled why I typed that number into the caption, hopefully there'll be some opportunities in the future to film it again so I can correct myself haha.
That Deltic screaming away pulling the 66 and all it’s wagons, was that some kind of test run ? Bit bizarre for heritage locomotive to be working on freight duties…
Fabulous video and very enjoyable. Those Class 20s sound like the old "Thumpers" which used to frequent the Southampton to Portsmouth line a long long time ago. Just a coincidence maybe? Cheers from me in Australia!
Brilliant, Kyle! Great thrash, power, variety, locations and video quality and oh, those sounds! By the way, should Freightliner get Colas to service their Class 70s? Far too much clag from a Euro IIIa loco after only eight years.
I was thinking the same regarding the clag from the TPExpress Class 68's. I've seen on RUclips that they produce a little clay when at idle - an older MTU-powered HST isn't that bad.
I'm glad I was born at just the right time with the best of everything that's ever been powered by an internal combustion engine. Would've sucked to have to live thru the malaise era when everything was reduced to front wheel drive pieces of ish
Just scrap them? The US has several thousand locos built in the 60's and 70's still running in Class 1 service, they are just rebuilt and updated to fit modern emissions standards. I'll give you some credit when it comes to GE locos... those do tend to be scrapped rather quickly.
When two locos are working together , are they linked in some way so the driver at the head controls power of both ? Why do we see 2 trains pulling just a few carriages , seems unnecessary ?
Yes they are connected in terms of controls. There are many reasons to double head a train, redundancy, cost efficiency for moving locos around, or more tractive effort.
RALPH WOULD YOU BELIEVE IT OR NOT ON WEEKENDS WHEN I WAS A KID I WOULD GO TO THE LOCAL STATION N STAND ON THE PLATFORM WAITING FOR THE FREIGHT TRAINS TO PASS THROUGH COUNTING THE WAGGON AS THEY PASSED
Has anyone experienced the same thing as me? everything that is written under videos on youtube has become so small, probably to get as much as possible in a small amount of space. what do you think about it? I dislike it
The quality of your filming is absolutely outstanding - well done!
13:25 "How many locomotives do you need for this?" "Yes."
Those 37's man 👌 They will be in forever history as the best sounding locomotives, great compilation 👍
@Christian Tyler Geeez!
Christian Tyler London Underground trains look and sound better than 37s? 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Good joke! You should become a comedian
Thank you for watching!
Am I the only one with a compulsion to count the rolling stock? I feel cheated when it dissolves out before the whole train has passed! :D
No. There are others of us. .
Exactly
I thought it was just me OCD lol
I always count the consist and calculate the load. With locos being hauled its not insubstantial.
I always count the engines and cars too

Very British is wonderful. I like diesel trains in beautiful landscape. 🇬🇧😊👍
Thank you.
Hi Kyle. Thanks for making the cabin fever more bearable! Nice work, sir, and much enjoyed.
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it.
1.18 When something interesting snorts, and clags out of the station, and then something wholly uninteresting follows in later.

Some great thrash there. I'm counting down the days until I can go and experience some for myself again!
23:30 what an outstanding shot, that angle is exquisite. So picturesque 😄👌
Greetings again Kyle from the USA. Another great compilation my friend. Love your thrash! Stay safe across the pond.
Thank you very much!

Wow Kyle what a brill collection, not a lot we can do while on this lockdown except do a video like this.

Kyle Law thanks Kyle, it was a lot nicer to watch than all the current rubbish they’re using to fill in the schedules on TV.
I appreciate all of it, thank you for sharing the diversity of British Rail.
Thank you for watching.
The roar of a 55 is superb.
Thanks for watching.
A big powerful deltic towing American junk plus a big load of freight I loved it! Good video
Thank you very much!
20s, 37s, 56s. .Got to love them all. Especially the Choppers 😄
Edit. And the 33s and 47s. I have not finished the vid yet but loving it so far!
Boy, that roaring Sound right from the start.
Remember the 2 class 37s that would run from Preston all the way to Whitehaven they stopped it in 2019. Memories
52015 lol. If only. Gotta love D1015. Best loco I've driven in 47 years service. Great video as always.
Thank you! Yeah I'm still baffled why I typed that number into the caption, hopefully there'll be some opportunities in the future to film it again so I can correct myself haha.
Excellent video mate thanks for that brings back a few memories
Your compilations as always fantastic. Thank you for posting!
Thank you. Glad you like them!
Excellently edited video, very enjoyable to watch!

This is a legendary video. It is excellent both in sound and image.
Greetings from turkey.
Thank you.
Excellent video, beautifully filmed.
37605 I saw that monster in person few years ago, hopefully will see one again soon!
Absolutely excellent Kyle, thank you for showing
Thank you for watching!
I liked the clip at Gilberdyke - I was resident at Gilberdyke SB and the class 20s on the RHTT was always a highlight!
Thank you, James.
Wow ,awsome photogrophy, and the sound is brilliant,,😊😊
A Deltic pulling a freight train together with a 66? That's a first for me...
great stuff. :) especially enjoyed seeing someone bellowing out of the cab window of 37 800 at York. my lords!
Thank you.
GREAT COMPILATION!!!!! Congratulations and many thanks
Thank you.
Oh that is music to my ears & they are such a beast!
Fabulous video and very enjoyable. Those Class 20s sound like the old "Thumpers" which used to frequent the Southampton to Portsmouth line a long long time ago. Just a coincidence maybe? Cheers from me in Australia!
Both powered by English Electric engines (different types) so that would explain the coincidence.
I like how you can see the clag before the Deltic comes into view on the first shot
Impressive convoy at 13:40
Excellent compilation, Kyle 👍
Thank you very much!
Excellent compilation 😊
Watched with pleasure
stunning composition. Thank you.
Good video, some nice footage throughout 👏🏼 3:55 I heard myself say I could do with some of those for my log burner 🤣
Thank you.

You can’t beat the purr of a 37 ❤️
Thrashtastic! Thanks, Kyle.

love the sounds of these old british locomotives
Me too
excellent compilation, thanks!
Thank you for watching.
Awesome video
Damn, as an American, I’m impressed with how well the English treat and repair their aging locomotives. We just scrap them over here!
Well, we invented trains and railroads, so we know how to look after them, usually.
Strange, as a Brit I always thought the exact opposite was true.
Just scrap them? The US has several thousand locos built in the 60's and 70's still running in Class 1 service, they are just rebuilt and updated to fit modern emissions standards. I'll give you some credit when it comes to GE locos... those do tend to be scrapped rather quickly.
Very great Kyle :)
Thank you.
Brilliant vid there mate 👍
Thank you. Appreciated.
Great compilation! 👍
Thank you.
The 37s oh that this is heavy the deltic MEH?!

Nice channel."thumbs up". diesel dave's .
Thank you.
Cracking video 👌🏼
Thank you, Trevor.
Grest video. . Were said that 52 come from. I have never seen one before.

Great vodeo!!!!
Thank you!
Adoro as classes 20, 31, 37, 40 e 50.
Those Class 70's are so dirty for a modern engine.
Are they all as bad as seen at 9:40? That one looks like it has a turbocharger on its way out.
That's what I thort was just thinking to myself how much cleaner modern locos were then that turned up.
Its freight doesn't need to be clean
@@welsh_Witch It's still not a great idea to throw out that much partially burned fuel.
It’s trying to be like a 47.
Good god I've not seen a network southeast 47 in years
Thank you
Excellent Jumbo faced diesel monster great howling and machine sound. great help during our corona virus prevention isolation. thank you sir
Fab footage of Clag
Brilliant Top class film and that's from my heart.
Thank you, Richard.

Hi Kyle. Great videos. If you're father is called Mark, say hello to him from me.
The 37s at York oh my days👏 605 sure had a hard time finding her feet
Thanks for watching.
Super 👌
Great video just one small point the Westerns were never renumbered to carry 52*** numbers.
No they retained the original numbers D1000-D1073 right up to their withdrawal in 1977
Thank you.
vice Video!
Love those Deltics!
My god Kyle, there are some knowledgeless clowns on here. Day release clearly. Superb video, from a driver proud to provide noise and clag!
Thank you as always!
i really hope class 20's aren't at thrall this year for rht
Great footage again always look forward to seeing your work what equipment do you film with quality is fantastic thanks
Thank you. Greatly appreciated. The equipment I use is listed below:
Camcorder: Panasonic HC-VXF1
(Videos)
Camera/Lens: Nikon D3400 & 18-105mm

Microphone: Rode VideoMic Pro+

Question why do some of the wagons when they go at speed sound like they have drive motors on them?
Probably because they're diesel-electric or diesel-hydraulic.
British diesel train horns are nuts
My son would love to live in the house which gets passed by the class 20s
18.33 wow, you can definitely hear the Rat Heritage inside that 47. Lol. Do miss the baby Sulzers. 😁👍
Epic compilation!
Thank you.
Y do your diesels sound so much cooler than ours?
Wow. And I thought the America's Alco's smoked a lot!
11:39 did The horn come from the Class 52 or Class 158
South Western Railway Fan 52
chap at 3.13 just mending his shed.
Great video! What is the maximum amount of trucks these freight trains are allowed to carry in the UK?
Depends on what they are pulling
All sorts of variables
Power and braking ability of the loco(s), gradients, weight restrictions over the infrastructure, etc
Why do the Class 37s always have that surging sound when they're pulling away....like the driver is continually goosing the throttle?
Naturally, aspirated diesels have to do that, as they flood at low speeds! 🤭🤭🤭🤭
Gods, I'm getting old!
I believe it is to do with the engine governor hunting for the correct rpm
@@shauntronics Yes you win the answer to that one.
10/10 sound is looks like a combine harvester harvest flower

Had the 66 failed or something and the deltic was the most powerful alternative or something?
I found it strange too, they could have used one of DB’s 59s 60s or even another 66.
@@bjoe385 perhaps they just wanted a little class or a bit of good old British muscle lol
In fact doesn't the deltic have slightly more bhp than the class 66?
Steven Thornton they both have the same horsepower, but the 66 has a considerably higher maximum and continuous tractive effort.
@@bjoe385 bet the 66 won't age as well as the deltic lol it basically comes down to torque and ability to use the pulling power
It’s amazing how American trains are so deferent to European trains
11:58 kinda sounds like a plane
My fave diesel brute
Thanks for watching.
