At 29:26 I found it useful that you displayed an approximate processing time per change. Since I otherwise have nothing to compare to, it's helpful to know where my computer's performance stands on the spectrum, or how much to accept that this is just how long it takes vs how much I might want to upgrade specs when buying my next computer. Thankfully my computer is less than a year old and appears to be performing very well. But it's nice to keep an eye on it as I get to more complex models.
Right now, I’m using a 2018 MacMini for most of my work and it’s doing well even with complex models. Hope to upgrade this summer. I might even do a video on testing performance, but that is TBD.
I'm curious about best practices with dependent dimensions. While it's easier to just click the center tread gap dimension because we know it's set to the tread gap parameter, that's building in a dependency that could cause a lot of work later. For example if we want a tread pattern without a center tread gap and delete that in the sketch, presumably all of the other dimensions lose that reference? Although now, I deleted that center gap to test it and… they're all still referencing (in my case) d34? How are they referencing a dimension that seemingly doesn't exist anymore? And even if I want to keep that reference structure, where do I edit d34 since it's now deleted from the sketch?
I love your determination in learning and seeing you figure out complex problems. Yes, the more dependent (or referenced) dimensions created, the easier things can break with your entire model. There is a lot to consider before creating dependencies. Usually, models and projects are not too complicated so as to worry about how many dependencies to create, however with this particular model which is teaching more complex design elements, you will start to see how problem solving ahead of time will work to your advantage later on. Even the phrase “your model (or parameters) will break” doesn’t even mean anything to most. Because you’ve stuck with us and really applied yourself, you’re starting to see what that phrase actually means and how to create good, working models/assemblies! Great job!

What will help you understand it is the end point of the next tread will be TreadGap/2 as well. Here’s how you can easily tell: use TreadGap for that parameter and see how it comes together at the end. Then, use TreadGap/2 and see how the model functions. I’m sure you’ll understand more at that point. Please let me know.
I'm not able to select the tire in the Emboss dialog. When I escape out of the Emboss dialog I can select any face of the tire. Not a selection filter issue (Select All is checked). When I try to emboss I can't select anything. Ugh. Edit: In the same file I created a cube off to the side. Created a plane above it, sketched a circle, and it embossed onto the cube just fine. There's something with my tire that won't let me select it for embossing. Edit: After hours of trying to solve this, I closed and re-opened Fusion 360 and my file, and the Emboss worked. Infuriating.
