      Actually, the really bad ones that have been known to try to escape and shit usually don't get such privileges as working... supervised only by a single officer on an open field.
      It could also be that they were the ones convicted of very minor crimes, and have maybe a couple months, a year left to serve. Obviously, none of them would try to attack him or escape knowing very well that if they get caught they will have to serve a far longer sentence than they ever deserved in the first place.
      So. No the ones working in this video most definitely aren't bad people, but that doesn't mean all inmates are as good as them.

      This is absolutely amazing,
      Prisoners outside prison doing work tidying up a cemetery,

      @@ihitgrandslams7961 I agree with you, to an extent. But no single act defines a person, no matter how bad that act was. Now, if we're talking about a serial killer, a serial rapist, a serial child molester or someone like that, then yeah, there's no redeeming them. The fact that they did it over and over again and never learned their lesson or tried to change their ways shows they should spend the rest of their lives in a supermax prison or get the needle, depending on what they did. My policy on the death penalty though is that if there's no loss of life involved in the crime, then the death penalty is not considered.
      That said, if we're talking about a single act, the person who did it is truly remorseful and wants to change their ways, I do believe those people can be redeemed. Sometimes they do change. Not all, or even most, of the time, mind you. It is possible, though. I'm living proof. I went to Juvie as a young teen for a crime I won't name here. Suffice it to say, it was bad, and leave it at that. I'm 34 now and haven't been in any sort of trouble since being released at 19. If I can change, so can others.

    I'd say a reduction in sentence is in order for these inmates that helped the officer. That should be a natural reaction by the judicial system. I know I am dreaming though and its not going to happen. To the courts that sentenced these inmates: If you are truly grateful for the inmates heroism, reduce their time.

    • @twistedmichigander4907
      @twistedmichigander4907 5 лет назад +2

      those on work detail are what are considered "short timers"- those with little time left on their sentence. By the time the authorized person can make that decision (reduced time), most will, probably, be back on the street. If it is possible, I do think reduced time and recognition for their actions are in order. There have been similar situations, and the inmates were rewarded with reduced sentences. Who knows what doors that type recognition could open for those individuals.

Told me they would get fire trucks on the way. Pretty amazing technology it’s a good thing though save a lot life’s when they can pin point your location.
