@@dane8947 I dunno, the last 2 episodes were really boring and I'm not talking a RotS type sequence, the Hallway scene in Daredevil is very different. It actually builds tension.
That would require writers/directors who actually know how to craft a good story. Unfortunately, these seem to be in short supply at Disney as a whole lately. Or there is too much interference going on to craft a good story.
I think it might be both. I know there are some talented writers at Disney. But it often feels like the shows that Disney produces fall short of some of these writers more niche projects. And then I'm sure that some story group/executive did some meddling. I think they stretched out the show and cut it up to a degree that was not intended. I suspect that the same thing happened to the Kenobi show to a slightly greater success.
Why do streaming services have episodes of varying lengths. Sometimes it goes from being locked in and wanting more to wondering if I waited a week just to see someone fumble the bag by rushing something
If I ever rewatch the series (which I may do for a star wars marathon), I'll likely just skip episode 3 because it contributed very little to the overall storyline

We may finally get a glimpse at what's at stake ? I mean, after all the drama, all the mediocre plot, the terrible directing, the strange timeline and the uninterrupted unexplained stroll through the galaxy, episode 5 may finally introduce us to the Sith, to what he threatens, to what his plan is, to why Mae stuck with him all this time... Or it may not. This show is stupid.
Honestly I don't really care about the show, don't hate it, don't love it, but episode 5 could be the best Star Wars thing ever, people on internet have decided they would hate it and they will (and brag about hating it everywhere they can, before saying people are paid by Disney for not being a brainless hater)
I get the feeling they make these the wrong way, It always feels like they given 8 episodes and a set budget and they then have to make it "work" - I do not envy the directors. They should be allowed free reign to do whatever they want ( with some help and supervision) but not hampered by set runtime
painfully obvious they didnt have a story to tell. Not only running times are short as hell but the pacing is atrocious through most of the series. Events that happen in episode 4 can be written down in 1-2 short sentences.
Either it'll be a good episode, or sadly, they'll keep dragging the "story" till episode 6 or 7. I just hope it's not the latter, and it picks up pace, spices up the plot, and gives some life to these characters. Very likely, they'll drag till 6 or 7. The classic Disney+ strategy for most IP shows. I hope they prove us wrong tho.
*Qimir* *is* *Smilo* *Ren.* This has been leaked for a few days already but it’s only stating the obvious that we all saw coming a mile (or a smilo) away. There’s a leaked photo with the helmet off and I believe that’s Mae holding a lightsaber to give back to Qimir. I wonder how Mae reacts to Qimir since the first few episodes, she does treat him like a bumbling loser. You can see Mae talk down on him. Treats him like her clumsy sidekick. Then she will discover he was her master all this time. I already expect all the haters on the Internet to trash that reveal saying they saw that reveal coming from a mile (or a smilo) away. How the writers are so stupid making it so obvious. I would’ve preferred if Qimir was a red herring and Smilo Ren was someone we haven’t seen yet, but alas, it’s as predictable as it comes. Now is Smilo Ren/Darth Venom/Qimir the acolyte, apprentice, or the master? That Force push was pretty strong for him to only be an acolyte. As for the Star Wars fandom, is it really fandom if you truly hate it or mock it all the time? I think The Acolyte is overHATED as I don’t feel it deserves a 13% audience score. Is it really worse than The Rings of Power S1 with Galadriel acting like a Mary Sue and Karen? Is it worse than She-Hulk: Attorney of Law where the writers had no clue of She-Hulk’s origin story since they never read the comics? Did we see Mae and Osha twerking next to Aniseya? 🤣 I was reading a comment on Thor Skywalker and it was saying how grifters/extremists makes a nice profit if they’re basing their channels on hate/cancel culture. Look at The Critical Drinker and Nerdrotic full of hating if it happens to be WOKE. I think both sides are morons, the shills and the grifters/haters. The WOKE and the anti-WOKE are ruining people’s enjoyment to watch stuff. The more negative it is, the higher the clicks. Star Wars Theory who used to be about talking Star Wars. Now he’s becoming a grifter like The Critical Drinker since they do live chats all the time. While TCD needs to be careful not to always sound toxic with his reviews because he’s directing a short feature. He doesn’t want to alienate the Hollywood industry he mocks. It’s why Chris Stuckmann went completely soft and can no longer be considered a critic. He will no longer CRITICize bad movies. The haters just want to be funny. The worst the show is, the funnier these RUclipsrs will try to be. But I will say The Acolyte hasn’t lived up to my low expectations. The Boys had an Episode 4 and House of the Dragon had an Episode 2 I thoroughly enjoyed. What good episode has The Acolyte given us? Nothing. Zero. Zilch. Nada. No bueno. And I’m not sure Episode 5 is going to save it with that very predictable reveal. I say to THINK FOR YOURSELF. Form your own opinion. You never let anybody do that for you in this social media beehive mentality we live in. Don’t hate or enjoy something because someone else does it. I follow Tyrone Magnus but I don’t always agree with his opinions and he’s a Trumper like me. I think mocking movies started with How It Should Have Ended which started in 2005 before most of us started using RUclips. Then Honest Trailers in 2012 and Pitch Meeting in 2017. Originally, Will Jordan’s RUclips channel didn’t start off as him as “The Critical Drinker.” He found his niche once he bashed The Last Jedi in 2017 (which I think everyone did) and he’s never looked back since from that niche he found. He’s even more malicious than Siskel & Ebert from 1986-1999 until Gene Siskel’s death in 1999. But Will takes the mocking humor from Honest Trailers and Ryan George’s Pitch Meeting. Find the false logic from the movie’s story and mock the hell out of it. Since 2017, the trend of mocking Star Wars or anything bad from Disney or mainstream Hollywood began. Hating, cancel culture, anti-WOKE, and parody accounts are a good business for them. The more negative, the higher the views. Add more facepalms in those thumbnails like Unbox Therapy has done for years. Most people on the Internet want to bash someone or something, not praise them. Hate humor: that’s what they all aim for. I can understand the hatred towards The Acolyte. I saw Furiosa for the 5th time yesterday and I think it’s a modern classic. While not as great as Fury Road and maybe not as great as Mad Max 2, it’s still a helluva movie. My favorite movie of this summer so far. The pacing and action are relentless. Barely any time for quiet conversations. Furiosa is a box office flop led my a female not named Max, but I still enjoyed it. So I’m not being sexist if I think The Acolyte sucks if I enjoyed Furiosa. I think the WOKE crowd are calling viewers sexists or racists as an excuse to defend a bad product like The Acolyte. While the anti-WOKE crowd might be too extreme with their hatred but they will still watch it weekly anyway so they can generate those views when they make a video mocking it. I also think the WOKE stuff in it is why The Acolyte never got a fair shake. Was never given a chance from the start. Lesyle or should I spell it Lez-lie? Haters wanted to hate it before it ever premiered once Nerdrotic pointed out “space lesbians” after the trailers dropped. They wanted The Acolyte to fail from the start and it has. There’s excuse making from one side and then there’s overhating from the other side. I will watch Episode 5 tonight but if it sucks again like Episode 1-4 has been, I’ll stop watching it. I don’t need to waste anymore time finishing the series if I think it sucks. Favorite Movie/TV Series of the Summer 1. House of the Dragon S2 2. The Boys S4 (moved up after Ep. 4) 3. Furiosa (favorite movie of the summer) 4. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes 5. Bad Boys: Ride or Die The Boys S4 has also got it’s share of anti-WOKE criticisms even though The Boys has always been political since S2. Audience score is at *52%* rotten. But since The Acolyte is so bad, The Boys S4 doesn’t generate as much attention for having a low audience score. I’m giving The Boys S4 about a B so far, so it’s at 85%. S4 is better than S2 but not S1 or S3. House of the Dragon S2 currently has a 92% audience score. It’s safe even with Black actors casted for white roles. Baela and Rhaena being Black and being Daemon’s daughters looks weird to me. But I digress because the production values, writing, and acting are all excellent. The same things can’t be said for The Acolyte. Is it 13% bad? No. More like 50% bad but not 13%. I give it a 6.5 which is 65% because I’m quite forgiving.

@@cuberrt No you didnt already know everything that happened in Ep.3. You might as well say you already knew everything that happened in the PT. Go back to your flashy lightsaber fights, you're clearly too ignorant for this show.

If Qimir is the Sith Lord, now I’m supposed to believe that a super young guy is Lord of the Sith? Worse yet, he would be the master. It would make more sense if Tenebrous is the Sith Lord and Plageuis is the apprentice in this timeframe.
To be fair, there's one actor in the cast we haven't seen on screen yet. My money is that Qimir is the 'Sith Acolyte', and his boss is the actual Sith Lord. Possibly Tenebrous and his rule of two violating ways.
That's not even the problem with the story and writing. It's the fact that with what has been told thus far in 4 episodes the identity reveal has no narrative purpose. None of the characters have enough backstory or buildup to distinguish how a their potential reveal would make the story unfold in different ways. In fact the whole mystery element to this show is based on the audience having bad/incomplete information. There is nothing engaging or thoughtful about it. There is nothing to solve. People are just waiting to be told the answer. And the biggest sin is do it in the most boring way and spending half the show without a proper lightsaber fight.

Episode 5 needs like a long extended fight scene with the jedi and the sith á la the Hallway Scene in Daredevil or something.
nah id rather find out who he is and how the jedi perceive him rather than get some ridiculously long revenge of the sith esque battle
@@dane8947 I dunno, the last 2 episodes were really boring and I'm not talking a RotS type sequence, the Hallway scene in Daredevil is very different. It actually builds tension.
We will be lucky if we get at least a 30 seconds fight scene.... if they do not die off-screen that is.
@@Juel92 Episode 5 was directed by Alex Garcia Lopez also Episode 4, he is from Daredevil :)
Lightsabers are racist tho
I think this episode needs to show the huge stakes especially who’s strong this Sith guy is.
Don't worry, you will see how strong he is after he kills all the jedi off-screen.

@@becknorland587 glad the show has balls to kill off characters.
I feel like the next flashback episode will be in the next one, 5, just because the last one was such a big cliffhanger and they wanna keep us waiting
If I ever rewatch the series (which I may do for a star wars marathon), I'll likely just skip episode 3 because it contributed very little to the overall storyline
i actually liked the first two episodes but it was just all downhill from there it seems
Same, they had flaws...big flaws...but i turned off my brain and i kinda liked the first two...
well, they killed off most of the characters, so anything could happen
Im interested to see this fight. otherwise im kind of just bord with it. i htink it will get good or better but idk, im just kind of here waching it ig. idk. but i am interested in what is going ot hapen next i think its gona get alot beter.
Doesn't the episode come out today, the 25th?
Those are amazing points.. I wish they thought of strategically adding in flashbacks throughout the episodes in the writing room!
They need to bring Jecki back, when they killed my favorite character I was angry.
as if we don't have enough characters surviving stab wounds
Comparing the writing of Mr robot to acolyte a.k.a. College film project is pretty bold 😅
So how many jedi are now dead in this series
We may finally get a glimpse at what's at stake ? I mean, after all the drama, all the mediocre plot, the terrible directing, the strange timeline and the uninterrupted unexplained stroll through the galaxy, episode 5 may finally introduce us to the Sith, to what he threatens, to what his plan is, to why Mae stuck with him all this time... Or it may not. This show is stupid.
So what did you think
It wont be the evil twin master is the discount ezra.
what if they give us another flashback episode before finishing the scene that they ended the previous episode with? 😑
Don't even know why anyone bothers. Why would you expect anything good if nothing but shit precedes it?
Honestly I don't really care about the show, don't hate it, don't love it, but episode 5 could be the best Star Wars thing ever, people on internet have decided they would hate it and they will (and brag about hating it everywhere they can, before saying people are paid by Disney for not being a brainless hater)
It would be hilarious if they do another flash back
This show is shit, and that's it. There is no « redemption arc » with this one.
It was
This show could have been animated
I get the feeling they make these the wrong way, It always feels like they given 8 episodes and a set budget and they then have to make it "work" - I do not envy the directors.
They should be allowed free reign to do whatever they want ( with some help and supervision) but not hampered by set runtime
MR ROBOT MENTIONED. WHAT EVEN IS A DULL EPISODE!?
painfully obvious they didnt have a story to tell. Not only running times are short as hell but the pacing is atrocious through most of the series. Events that happen in episode 4 can be written down in 1-2 short sentences.
Mr Robot > Basically every other show
Too late in the game now my friend. Don't know about them turning it around now.
Oh fuck yeah that’s tomorrow. Can’t wait to hear more about the dumpster fire, cuz God knows I’m not gonna watch it.
Really excited to see where the show goes. Also, still doubt he's a sith.
ZZZ ZZZ 😴 😴 😴 😴. Mr. Robot is Goated.
The first few episodes all suckkkeeeddd so bad..5th was amazing..killing off main characters was a hot move
Welp, it definitely won’t be so….🤷🏻♀️

I was reading a comment on Thor Skywalker and it was saying how grifters/extremists makes a nice profit if they’re basing their channels on hate/cancel culture.
Favorite Movie/TV Series of the Summer
1. House of the Dragon S2
2. The Boys S4 (moved up after Ep. 4)
3. Furiosa (favorite movie of the summer)
4. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes
5. Bad Boys: Ride or Die
The Boys S4 has also got it’s share of anti-WOKE criticisms even though The Boys has always been political since S2.
The series has ALREADY been "game changing"; just not in a way in which you and some others are willing to admit.
This is just a disney fanfiction of star wars, not real star wars, so everything is ok. I will only get angry if they change the originals.
yeah, the series is game changing when it comes to lowering expectations for the rest of the upcoming shows, it's also a game changer when it comes to being one of the worst series ever produced with a budget of 180mil (have in mind that godzilla minus one, it's 10 times better with 10 times less budget), it's the new lowest point in sw
This show should never been made. Just that.
It's going to suck.
While i agree that the Acolyte hasn't been to everyone's expectations, I'm more upset with the fandom for how they're are acting with all the gatekeeping and death threats. Its too much for me that i might consider leaving the fandom enitrely.
it took you this long to realise that's what the Star Wars fanbase behaves like when they're upset? I mean, even if you weren't born yet when Jake Lloyd and Ahmed Best were getting harassed to no end, surely other more recent cases like Moses Ingram or Kelly Marie Tran should have clued you in on something about the mindset behind this fanbase.

I disagree. What people get wrong is that the mystery doesn't start in episode 1 it starts in episode 3. The actual mystery is learning what happened on Brendok.
@@rorrschach8339 Aight tell me exactly what new information episode 3 provided that's actually important to the plot.
Watching HotD alongside this makes me realize just how garbage this show is. Everything about it is just so... amateur. Literal quality production versus fan film scenario.
I think the pacing killed the series. It could've been not amazing but fine if the episodes were twice as long and faster pace. Instead, it feels really dragged out without much actual contnt.
The DEI consulting companies Mada bank on this show. That's for sure.
I recall saying the rise of skywalker needed to be game changing, it was not
If this show did what they did for fallout we wouldn’t have this problem
Comparing Mr. Robot to the Acolyte is like comparing Gold to pimples filled with feces.
This show is just one big disappointment... It seems the writers are overly focused on attributes like gender and skin color. It's ironic to see them complain about sexism and racism, only to perpetuate those issues themselves (along with a poor script).
