There’s no way there’s enough time to satisfactorily explain Qimir and Mae. They wasted too much time on the witches, that have nothing to do with the Sith arc.

Sol tried killed the mother because he thought she was trying to kill Mae
That fading effect he saw on Mae and the mother looked like they were both dying but it was actually her trying to take over sol’s mind or try to talk to him the way she did to torbin earlier in the episode (when he was under mind control everyone faded away)
Sol was also under the influence that mae and osha were in danger because of how Mae said there was gonna be a sacrifice or something during the ascension ceremony

The fact that Sol is being portrayed as the bad guy when he acted in self defense when Mae and Osha's mom attacked him in aggression is insane to me. And then five seconds after he attacks her, she's all like "I was going to let her go.." THEN WHY THE FUCK DID YOU ATTACK HIM?

    • @MrGoldVault_YT
      @MrGoldVault_YT Месяц назад +20

Mother Aniseya didn’t attack Sol, she was trying to protect the twins. Sol didn’t attack in self defense, he thought the twins were in danger. Both Sol and Aniseya wanted the same thing. This didn’t make Sol “evil”, it was just a tragic misunderstanding on Sol’s part.

First of all, Mother Aniseya didn't "mind control" Torbin, she merely enticed him of his greatest desire (going back to coruscant) which ended up backfiring severely. Second, the form Mother Aniseya took was likely a way of protecting Mae, as we can see Mae begin to be absorbed by her. Sol took this the wrong way, which is why he stabbed Aniseya.

I mean, maybe it's just me but I kinda felt like Sol stabbing the mother was pretty understandable. Not forgivable or justified, but understandable. If I was in a high tension situation like that and someone next to me had their jaw extend like a ghost and their eyes went pitch black as they started transforming into a amorphous being of smoke and shadow, and then I saw a kid nearby also starting to dissolve into smoke clearly as a direct result, my first instinct would probably also be to stab. It wouldn't be the smartest or most informed decision, but I can understand the reaction especially since it was a snap decision in a deeply weird and high tension situation.
Honestly the person I'm most critical of in that exact moment is Mother Aniseya. Like in this incredibly high tension, situation she really thought turning into a giant smoke monster was the way to go? Like imagine you were in standoff with guys with guns and then you scream out of the blue, pull out a knife, and start running over towards a little girl. THAT'S NOT HOW YOU PREVENT YOURSELF FROM GETTING FATALLY INJURED! DON'T SPOOK THE HIGH STRUNG DUDES WITH THE LETHAL WEAPONS!

Indara was the leader of the group trying to keep Torbin who was being impatient and Sol who felt an urge to get Osha out of there together or at least to keep them from doing something stupid. Course Sol and Torbin acted on their own and things soon went out of hand. Mother Aneseiya was having everyone ready in case things do escalate and she was going to handle things peacefully until her "wife" made the first move. Sol no doubt had a fight or flight moment and killed Aneseiya out of reflex. Something he came to regret immediately.
The Coven's possession almost stems from the whole thread concept where they as themselves are pulling the host's strings like puppets controlling their body and mind. The experience of being possessed lead Torbin to go into deep meditation for 10 years since he became master and Kelnaca has not been the same since he was possessed and a bunch of other things happened during those 16 years that lead him to seclude himself from his fellow Jedi. Indara likely pushed the Coven out of Kelnaca's head and the whiplash from their minds coming back to the witches caused them to collapse.

Mae's fire couldn't possibly have destroyed the entire compound, and Sol's sudden obsession with Osha doesn't make sense either.
And then I 'm *generous* enough to assume that Indara accidentally killing all witches when fighting to gain control over Kelnaca makes sense... Or Sol attacking the black fire with his saber... Or unintentionally thereby stabbing Aniseya... Or Torbin guilt tripping over really only wanting to get the hell out of planet Dodge...

Have you ever heard the tragedy of Leslye Headland the Foolish? It’s an old KK legend.
Leslye Headland was a woke writer of the alphabet brigade, so arrogant and so foolish she used her influence to destroy Star Wars canon… She had such a knowledge of the social justices that she could even put her agendas in a franchise that had no need for them. The woke side of writing is a pathway to strange things many consider to be unnatural. She became so arrogant… the only thing she was afraid of was losing her credibility, which eventually, of course, she did. Unfortunately, she taught her apprentice, Amandla Stenberg, everything she knew, then her apprentice scissored her in her sleep. Ironic. She tried to cancel others, while only cancelling herself.

I actually liked this because it showed how a Jedi who hasn’t mastered themselves can easily do something bad with good intentions.
Sol and the other Jedi weren’t evil in this episode, they were reckless.
One wanted to be what he thought a Jedi was, and the other was too compassionate in his views.
But that’s also not to say the Witches were 100% in the right either; as they too escalated the scenario unnecessarily.
In fact you have to ask was Osha and Mae’s mother correct in letting Osha go.
Because the episode asked what was more important Osha’s desires or everything her family had fought for to get her to this point.
And hell Mae wouldn’t have burned down the place if it hadn’t been for Mae’s other mother gassing her up and fueling her hatred.
I think this was the most complex situation out of all of them.
And I’m actually shocked this episode is hated so well when it goes against what people thought this would be. This isn’t an indictment on the Jedi, it was just a bad situation for everyone involved

Even clone wars showed snippets of less emotionally equipped Jedi losing control of themselves and there are some even in the Old Republic MMO
The idea that all Jedi are these perfect angels that are all equally good at mastering themselves in any particular set of time is nonesense.

I mean, two people died from stab wounds in this show and you still try to make a joke about Disney and stabs. And I'd say this episode's whole purpose was to show that the Jedi are people too and they are emotional. That's why Torbin ran off, that's why Sol couldn't think clearly enough to pull both girls from the bridge.

This might accidentally break canon but I don't really know so please tell me if I do. Here's what I think the acolyte (show) should have been: instead of some random cult of witches, we should have gotten a nightsister cult. It would have explored the time when old Daka was mother of her cavern, which is a few decades before Talzin became mother of her cavern. Darth Tenebrous and Darth Plagueis would have been working with the nightsisters and the jedi would be investigating. Eventually we find out that Darth Plagueis is searching for an apprentice and requires the aid of the nightsisters. Mother Daka agrees to use her magik to seek out a powerful apprentice with an extremely strong connection to the force(palpatine). Later, hoping to find answers, the jedi request the help of Talzin to explore an ancient tomb located somewhere across the planet. This tomb is the tomb of Kujet(from jedi fallen order). Before they can get to it, they are attacked by two giant dathomirian bats, similar to Gorgara, also from jedi fallen order. They decide it is much too dangerous, so they retreat. Instead of trying to gk back to the tomb immediately, they return to Coruscant, where they split up. One group attempts to gather information about the sith of which they are hunting, and the others head to the jedi temple, seeking the wisdom of the council. Eventually, they return to Dathomir, where they once again head to the tomb of Kujet. However, this time, instead of flying there, they decide to venture through the wildlands, where they run into many enemies, including a Nydak, and a rather large nest of bane back spiders(both from jedi fallen order). At the very end of this series, we see Plagueis attempt to find an apprentice again, accept this time, he succeeds. The season will then come to a close with Plagueis saying the line "set a course... for Naboo" therefore confirming how he found Palpatine.
Obviously, this is just the main plot and still needs a lot of work, but it is a start.

Basically, they should have started with the Hot Darkside Dude and one of twins doing evil darkside stuff. Two episodes of that, then we see the good twin and have no idea it's her until we the viewer can tell something is up because she's acting different. The Jedi show up and try to take in the good twin. They do... they're Jedi, but then Sol shows up and speaks up for her. After that they're like... "you have a sister!" and she's like "I didn't know she's alive!" and then boom it's a Star Wars show again and we have at least three episodes left to party. You use that time for Lighsaber fights, betrayal, darkside/lightside arguments and the rest just writes itself.

They like to telegraph things, so maybe the tussle at the end between Sol and Indarra suggests that Qimir, who has a similar tussle with Mae in episode 2, is her Sith apprentice after whip Jedi cast him out of the Order for the same kind of "failure" that got Osha expelled under Sol's teachings. Also, Indarra's sudden pivot to cover-up what happened makes perfect sense IF she has secret dark side powers that are forbidden; so she fakes her death because she knew all about Qimir's attempt to find an Acolyte to betray her. MEANING that now Osha becomes her Acolyte after Indarra easily kills Qimir, then monologues all about how Sol was mistakenly obsessed with Osha, when it was actually always her destiny to be Indarra's... cut to black. How did I do? Does that sound better than what we're going to get for the finale?

I’m hoping they’re taking the stance “his side, her side and the truth”. We’ve seen Osha and Mae’s perspective and now Sol’s perspective but the problem with this is us going back to the same scenes AGAIN from the true perspective (not sure if this would be Torbin or one of the two robed figures we see during the chanting). Instead of devoting whole episodes to this, I wish they did vignettes instead or flashbacks while coming back to the current timeline.
IMO they should have made these into 1 hour episodes or filmed two seasons then released season one since it’s proving to be just filler and set up to make us ask a bunch of questions they can’t possibly answer with only one episode left

In my opinion, turning yourself into a black mist and leaving and leaving yourself wide open within attack range of two clearly high strung jedi is not what I'd call a pro gamer move. Yeah Sol jumped the gun by stabing the mother, but after seeing Torbin get possessed once it was an understandable reaction. For all he knew she could've been trying to possess them both and force them to kill one another. If anything this is Indara's fault above all else. She could have (possibly) prevented everything if she just told Sol to STFU instead of enabling him into getting closer and more obsessed with Osha. She also should have been able to tell Torbin was mentally unstable after getting posessed and Sol was getting more and more sus over Osha and maybe disabled the speeders or something just to be safe.

To be honest, I didn't miss Qimir. That whole thing has felt like a red herring all season. Nothing ever came of it, and he's not a very persuasive seducer (unless Mae is just looking for a thirst trap).
I thought this episode was decent, except for one thing: They screwed up the Rashomon theme/technique. A good portion of the episode was from Osha and the witches' perspective, which we already saw in episode 3. And when we see the Jedi perspective, it's not like it conflicts with the witches' perspective. They're not seeing the same thing a different way. They're seeing different things.
From the beginning of the show, I liked the fact that we were seeing the Force from a perspective outside of the Jedi and the Sith. That's actually what I *didn't* like about Qimir: If he's just a Sith, he's not interesting to me. Been there, done that. The witches are interesting to me because they're not really dark side characters. They've been defending their coven, not attacking. The horned witch is obviously evil, but the other witch isn't.

One thing that really irritated me was the fact that Torbin seems to have killed himself solely because he... was a young padawan that really wanted to go home? Plus deflecting some arrows with a lightsaber and getting his butt kicked by a Wookie.
