For some people in the comments: being an introvert doesn’t mean you’re shy, boring, socially awkward, or anything else besides the fact that social interactions are draining and you’re most energetic alone!
people say there's many perks about being an introvert but honestly i always wanted to be an extrovert and be the life of the party. I just feel so boring around a lot of people
google user I’m an introvert. I agree. I feel boring too. But on the positive i am approachable and people feel comfortable around me. Sometimes enough to tell me their deep secrets
Honestly being an introvert is a trendy now. I don’t think people really understand that being an introvert means getting your energy from being alone.
Anna Carlson seriously though. It makes me laugh every time people think I’m extroverted and I’m like “I mean I had fun, I’m just exhausted. It’s been like two hours and 30 people give me a break”
George McCrary, II I mean... that seems like a unnecessary gate keeping BS? “Everyone who says they are introverted isn’t”? What are you talking about? Lol I respond because my whole life people have accused me of lying about being introverted simply because I’m not curled up in a corner... I laugh and interact with everyone but one hour of human interaction and I’m so tired after and need to just go lay down and be alone for a while. People need to just worry about themselves and stop trying to tell other people what they are and are not. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
There’s a lot more ambiverts (people who are a mix of extrovert and introvert) out there and I think a lot of them are more on the introverted side because of how a lot of Western cultures are individualist, so people keep to themselves more. It just tells you how many people like doing their own thing, but still enjoying others.
Right! Like I like people, and I have a friend, but best believe I spend 85% of my time in my cave, tucked away. I also think a lot of people confuse introversion with social anxiety (which I had as a kid, but grew out of by college). But they are not the same.
Depression can make you black out. Idk why more ppl don't realize this. The mind was a clever way of blocking out perceived trauma by allowing you to disassociate. Depression, anxiety, they can both cause dissociation. It's a really wonderful defense mechanism with not so wonderful consequences.
Yes, I have childhood trauma and I've been disassociating since I was small, I've dealt with being neglect, abuse basic necessities not being met, SA from two family members and an ex boyfriend, I have no idea who I am as a 26 year old. I have no idea what to do as far as a career. I'm going to therapy and microdosing for my CPTSD, depression and anxiety. It's really hard being "present" or in the moment because everything is overwhelming. Chaos was constant and now that I'm an adult there's no more chaos. Who am I without the trauma?
i have next to no memory of years of my life for this reason, i dont think i'd call any part of it wonderful for me personally. but thats because mine has gone into overdrive. thats the problem, though. for a lot of people disassociation is a killer.
hey if you are microdosing without medical supervision i really dont reccomend that, unless you are doing it with your therapist then ignore me. i microdosed for this reason and i had to learn to start over and my memory got even worse, i also became dependent on the microdose for serotonin or dopamine because of my CPTSD. i hope you are doing ok. the only thing thats ever helped me is mindfulness and DBT therapy. I have done it all at 30 years old, they had me on crazy medications and electrocuted me and everything. but its bc i wouldnt do DBT right off the bat because it seemed too easy to deal with my shit. i was wrong lol be careful sorry for the novel @@dumplingsoupss
@seroquelchamber I understand my mind was trying to save me. It's an incredible thing the brain can do, block out trauma to allow us to go on. It's bitter sweet. In a way I feel there's this other person or unconscious mind inside my body that tried to help me. That's a wonderful thing.
Truly crazy how introverts often make such great entertainers. Musicians, actors, comedians, singers, performers in general. Me, myself, I love being alone, don’t like or need being around other people, don’t really like talking or being the center of attention at social situations but I live for the feeling of singing in front of people.
I always think I’m an introvert, but then whenever I have those once in a blue moon interactions with the type of people I actually wanna be around, I feel far more energized then I’ve ever felt before but those occasions only happen a few times a year
Yeah I'm an introvert, and my time limit for social interaction is 1.5 hours. After that the anxiety kicks in and I get restless and want to just go home and put cartoons on.
From someone who regularly deals with anxiety, I can confirm that w*ed really does help slow your brain down. I wish more of the US was open-minded towards it.
@@astoldbynickgerr Regular meditation and mindfulness throughout the day. Practicing distancing yourself from feelings and thoughts by simply observing them helps with slowing anxious thoughts over time. Also, wtf is up with this edgelord-a*s name? Get a new sense of humor.
Honestly quite people and only children are funny af. Quite people have take the time to observe their surroundings and only children have to entertain themselves combine the two and *chef kiss to the gods*
People genralise Introvertness as being socially awkward, shy, demure and similar impressions when in fact, being an introvert does mean that yeah, we're anti social. If I'm talking about me, I like talking to people but in the comfort of my bedroom via a phone. 😂 I can go months without talking to my friends, and my relatives constantly complain that I don't respond well to them. I'm not shy it's just my nature.
i used to be an extrovert but bc they literally punished me at school for being bubbly, as i aged up from 5 to 10 i changed from being a bubbly very spoken out girl to a quiet very stage fright girl. if in pre-k and elementary left me be myself, i wouldn’t be so introverted but now i just like being introverted. when covid hit i wasn’t that impacted since i sleep all day and binge watched a lot of youtube. my brother was hit hard since he is an extrovert. all that i feel like got to me negatively is just getting so nervous and anxious when i speak in front of a group of people or class (i’m taking a class to help me speak up for my last year in HS) but other than that i’m okay. i’m very shy at first and would rather avoid confrontation but if someone else starts speaking to me, i will open up and am very VERY extroverted with friends and people who know me.
I don't think great comics are introverts. But I do think our biggest and truest self is what you see on stage. But most of the legendary comics that I have worked with are great at meeting people and love talking to different people. What do y'all think??
Ayo, you are literally me but actually. Our dads are the same, our favorite A24 movies are the same, and I am anxious and funny and read in the bathroom during recess for all of 2nd grade PLUS I don’t remember anything for like a 5 year span starting with my sophomore year of college and also I absolutely was born to voice act as Missy but I didn’t know who to get in touch with about it 😅
maybe because an introvert, they're recognize something that people don't , and sometimes for introvert themself it isn't funny but for people aound them ,it is . Well, at least that's what i feel as introvert.
Being funny can be a compensation of absence without say directly "Please stay", because in my personal opinion i don't feel the need to be with alot of people i just know that is general need and ultimately we need each other anyway.
Being introvert is not a bad thing at all and for me it cant affect ur future carrer or being suçcesful in life..i am shy type person since young but now i can handle my being own🥰🥰🥰so no need to worry👍👍👍

I'm LIVING for these!
Actually one of my goals for 2020 was to find more comedians who are female and/or POC so this has been really awesome!
+faitharoo_ OMG! That means so much to us! So glad you're loving them!
I love them both individually and together as a duo, they both are sooo funny! I can't wait to see Bottoms!
3 years later, they are both starring in a movie together!
I always think I’m an introvert, but then whenever I have those once in a blue moon interactions with the type of people I actually wanna be around, I feel far more energized then I’ve ever felt before but those occasions only happen a few times a year
I'm so innocent, I thought she gave her confetti poppers lol
Omg same😂 I was like “ohh fun! How’s that bad!”
Wait they aren’t poppers! I’m so confused 😂😂
Then what is it??!
Oh,I just got to the minute where she explained it 💀
Same oh my gosh😂😂
"I fell like when people aren't anxious.. what's wrong with you?" LOL
Yeah I'm an introvert, and my time limit for social interaction is 1.5 hours. After that the anxiety kicks in and I get restless and want to just go home and put cartoons on.
what are you watching now? Fellow introvert here.
I didn’t know how much I needed this in my life. I love them so much thank you
+alyalynni8 That's lovely to hear! Thanks for being here!!
I'm an introvert. People at school/work always say that I'm really funny. And I never understood why lol
RACHEL SENNOTT OF SHIVA BABY FAME!!!! AYO EDIBIRI OF THE BEAR/CLONE HIGH/BIG TOP BURGER/TMNT/ABBOT ELEMENTARY FAME! love these two
Ayo with an Afro has me in a chokehold. She’s beautiful regardless but Afros just do it for me.
OMG Rachel Sennott and Ayo Edebiri from The Bear and The Idol !! two shows i watched back to back hahaha

Over here in LA almost everyone smokes weed
Know of any other ways that does the same thing but doesn’t involve inhaling marijuana?

This describes me so well 🤯
Lol I'm both and like high key hate being around ppl
Quiet...
I’m an introvert but I’m not shy. I like to embarrass my self in front of people hehe.
Same
i used to :v i kinda miss that moment
Introversion is not social anxiety/ shyness. They can coexist, but are not synonyms.
Hint: you're not an introvert
"poorly timed release" had me busting out loud
Sad cus I can relate, and people don’t even begin to recognize the connection between depression, stress, and memory.
yeah, she was so real for saying that honestly.
they're my favorite actresses honestly
They’re either best friends or hate each other’s guts
stop... why does it really look that way lol
They’re best friends. They’ve known each other since college. A lot of besties act like they hate each other lol
@@KaiKailuv Yep. I have multiple friends I've spoken with daily for 30+ years now.... most of what we do is insult each other lol
ngl, i fell in love with both of them when she opened the box of poppers
I’m an ambivert & proud❣️🌟
I felt like I was watching friends / partners 💕 the love is there!

The girl with the Danny shirt is genuinely adorable.

Being introverted is like being a train not on a track but it still moves.
Definitely needed to see that PSA when I was 17 lmao, poppers we’re all the rage at my artsy high school. So many unnecessary migraines at parties.
I never wanted this to end

Loved this so funny😂
these are two of the most cool ppl I've ever heard converse
love the vibes here
I think an introvert doesn’t really care how many friends they have. Or care if people do or don’t like them. We like being alone for the most part.
this aged so well for ayo❤
Loving Ayo in The Bear
