She was a protege of Luther Vandross - sang with him for 20+ years; she has worked with Chaka Khan, The Rolling Stones and recorded background vocals for many artists. She also won a Grammy award in 1991 for Best Female R&B Performance for the song "How Can I Ease The Pain". Lisa Fischer also sang with Ledisi on a Nina Simon Tribute for the BBC Proms in 2019 - several of the songs are here on RUclips.

She goes from chest voice to head voice flawlessly. Her vocals are perfection. Her song "How Can I Ease The Pain" won a Grammy, and it was well deserved. She also used to sing with Luther Vandross. Lisa made the decision to support other singers. She still has the best vocals I believe I've ever heard. I love her voice and can pick it out even when she's doing backup vocals. True, don't underestimate her. She is one powerhouse vocalist. I'm a musician, I play the Sax, have heard countless singers from not famous to very famous Lisa Fischer can sing anything. She has been touring now for a long time. Recently, she gave up backing vocalist for the Rolling Stones, from what I understand, to focus more on her touring. @lisafischersing I sure hope Ms. Fischer knows she has a huge fan club!
