Good flick though!! Weird to see Patrick Stewart playing a white supremacist. Another shocker is Kevin James in the newer movie "Mandy" its actually really good and the gore is great!! He plays a AB dude outta prison trying to kill a girl and her family
Was touring pre internet days. We were contacted through a demo review by another band. Told us they would have a 200 seater venue and we would get paid in cases of beer. Took us 12 hours driving and turned out to be 2 kids and their moms with a 6 pack. The moms wouldn't give us a beer until we played a song. Awful.
@Travis Edwards Right? That's the part that makes me suspicious. Who the fuck drives all that way for cases of beer? Better have been at least a dozen offered. Just seems like bullshit.
I played a show a few years ago where we opened for Alien Ant Farm, vocalist's roommate was in a band after us, they're bassist's head fried during the soundcheck, but my gear was still next to the stage so they gave me a free copy of their album to borrow it. I couldn't imagine that shit happening...
I kinda expected Robb to tell the story of when he, Anselmo and Manson had to jump in for Ozzy because he had lost his voice at Ozzfest 1997. Anselmo and Robb got hammered before they knew they'd have to sing. Dimebag somehow also got on stage, super wasted as well. They performed so badly that the crowd got so upset they lit the fence on fire and turned over police cars and whatnot. Certainly seems like a worse concert than a crowd that's not showing any emotions to me. :P
I’ve played many shitty shows. One in particular was when we were invited to play our second show at a house completely packed with straight edge hardcore kids. They all just stared and had zero expression. After wards the few that came up to us while we were packing up said we were too “death metal” for them and didn’t belong. Lol
I know the show Robb was talking about. It was when they were playing in Germany and they opened for a popular local act called Böhse Onkelz. Kinda what started them playing the 'Evening With' show.
I thought Trevor would talk about the show they did in Phoenix where he couldn’t hear himself because of people knocking out the speakers and everyone was on their phones and we people who weren’t on our phones and black dahlia was pissed at the fans for being on their phones
We once played a show in a pub that was meant to be getting demolished. The decor was something out the 80s. They still had an old brown tube TV and one of those teletext style quiz machines. It was like something out of Eastenders! They had no stage, just a corner of the pub, 1 colour light and a PA only big enough for vocals so had to just push the cab sound! We knew it was gonna be shit, so we just got stupidly drunk! Half way through the set, the one light broke, and our guitarist ended up playing most of the set in the wrong position on the neck til our bassist moved his hand up the neck :-D Then, on the way home, we had to stop 3 times for piss brakes and vomiting! Literally one of the worst sets possible, only made better by the fact that the barmaid fancied our drummer and flashed her boobs in exchange for one of his dreads! haha
I was on some metal fest several years ago. Archenemy was playing at the same time as some other band on separate stages and I was the only guy onthe archenemy gig! Everybody else went to see the other band, like couple thousansd people. And archenemy played their thing, but eventually I got bored and went to see other band. I wonder what they thought about that gig.
AT LAST. The bands speaks with their minds. I'm totally agree w/ Rob Flynn that a METAL band playing w/ normie audience is d worst. Only standing like statues. Not moshing. That was really a disappointing shit. 😑
I'm a drummer and I used to play with a sortsa otaku band, we played some anime op and some covers of one ok rock and we threw like some rage against the machine and stuff in there too. It was real fun, we used to get invited to many places, but all of thore places were absolutely shit in terms of audio equipment and instruments. I often ended up playing almost with one hand while grabbing the rest of the kit with the other in order to keep in up
Got added to a last minute show in our home town. Cool right? wrong.. the two bands that added us were from albany or syracuse both played their sets first as they were out of town. They then dipped on the whole show including the fee for the sound guy and club that they booked. We went on at like 8 or 9 oclock so none of our friends were there yet.. When we finished the club said we owed them 300 bucks.. (uh no we don't) so we drank 2 cases of beer in their parking lot and left all them under one of their cars. Lol. good times.
As a fan I'd rather be in a small venue enjoying my favorite bands than a festival with a bunch of people who don't give a shit about other bands and just take space lol
The band was probably opening for Iron Maiden in Brazil. People in Brazil and Iron Maiden fans have no interest in the opening act. If Iron Maiden was its own opening act under another name, the audience still wouldn't care.

My dad saw Megadeth on the United Abominations tour at Merriweather, and a drunk guy threw a beer on the main speaker, ruining it. Apparently it sounded like balls, so Mustaine got mad and walked off stage with two songs down. They apologized, though, and let everybody there that night in the next night for free.
I'm going to see Machine Head in a couple of months and can't wait, i have seen them a few times before and they have always put on a great fucking show. Going to see Code Orange in a couple of weeks when they support Trivium, looking forward to seeing them, haven't seen them before.

I wonder what concert Rob Flynn was talking about? 120,000 people is a huge crowd. Would be interested in finding out more about that.
When they asked Chad Kroeger: "All of them I'm from Nickleback".
Elliott Blakemore Yawn make a code orange joke instead, i hate them more now

Probably anybody but machine head... rightfully so
@@mattmurray517 Now that's a sharp observation. Did you come up with that all by yourself?
Rob probably started with Message in a Bottle.
Those people probably would have loved that song, considering how poppy it is.
Iron Head-Ed, but... its a cover of a pop punk band.
Probably Rock am Ring
Look at that subtle off-white coloring. The tasteful thickness of it. Oh my God... it even has a watermark.
Yes rock am ring is a great festival for music and beer. But for heavy mosh pits is so lamexD
What was that Code Orange song at the end?
MetalDeth777 the end song is called Forever.
Ruben X Medina Damn...too good.
Code orange are heavy!
