The originals were so loved for the element of surprise and the feeling of 'ooh, I didn't realize that one was better!'. Pokemon like crobat are practically in all best teams. I even think to myself before watching these videos what are the Pokemon that he is going to show. And guess what? I'm almost always right with one or two Pokemon. The episodes get more repetitive every time and the unpredictability of the members of the team is what it makes it special.

The reusable TMs really change the potential for in game movesets: any good moves for a Pokemon that are TMs can be rotated out. For example, my Absol knows Night Slash, Play Rough, Rock Tomb, and Swords Dance. I can switch out Rock Tomb for Aerial Ace if I need, then switch back to Rock Tomb. I think dedicating a move to attack boosting is worthwhile since you can swap TM moves in the other slots so you don't need to know all of your moves at all times.

The fact that Skarmory got slighted for Crobat is just mind blowing to me. Skarmory has the best defensive typing in the game, and while it doesn't get strong physical Flying STAB, it's bulk allows it to use swords dance to massive effectiveness. SD/Steel Wing/Aerial Ace/coverage (or fly) is an amazing set as it beats annoying double teamers and sets up on half the pokemon you encounter. It's so good, in fact, that I even got it to set up on Flannery and sweep it's biggest weakness. Skarmory is the best flyer in the Hoenn region by a large margin because its swords dance set is available so early, its amazing typing, and ability to sweep teams and even boost right past steel types besides magneton.

Its two physical attacks knock off and sucker punch gain stab and with a base 150 attack that can hold its owm with minimal ev investment, plus i decided to go with a justified absol so i can send absol out to battle to take some dark type hits perhaps when battling magma or aqua grunts for example then after i get an attack buff or 2 then mega evolve it, with 1 to 2 attack buffs, a base 150 attack and stab sucker punch and knock off, that will do the job even with little to none Ev investment into attack and also got 2 hard hitting special attack moves of flamethrower and thunderbolt for coverge ans will do enough damage to ko some foes and be more versatile, for situationa such as burn or intimidate

Azumarill's fairy typing doesn't add anything since you have Gardevoir. Sharpedo maintains Azumarill's fairy type and adds dark typing getting rid of the need for Absol opening up a slot for another pokemon, while also having great speed which is key for in-game

I never watched this video until today when I finished my run through Alpha Sapphire, the remake of my first Pokemon game ever. This matched my team quite a bit, not to mention the move sets for the 3 Pokemon I used that were on this nearly matched as well. The only difference were I used Latias and Kyogre because I could. Then Roserade because I literally couldn't think of anything I was lacking at that point. Now I have to do my only Eeveelution Elite Four battle ;)

But I would reeeeaally love to see you do a "worst fully evolved team" for a game, as like "use this team if you want the biggest challenge possible." That'd be super fun.

Yes, Blaziken is my favorite starter, the Fire-Fighting Pokemon that started the trend. Chose him for my first Emerald playthrough, named him Hot Wings, and LOVED him soo much.
My team was Blaziken, Gyarados, Gardevoir, Aggron, Castform (who, now I remember, was practically dead weight), and the Rayquaza I caught and used in the Elite Four.

I don't know about that, Alexander. Sceptile covers the Water-type issue that Manectric covers with the other two starters. Good moveset, although you should replace Shadow Ball on Crobat with X-Scissor/U-Turn because:
    A) Crobat’s attack is better than its special
    B) we can use it to cover Crobat’s psychic weakness while also giving some extra coverage against the dark type elite 4 member
    C) Gardevoir can use Shadow Ball way better than Crobat

  • @Gaius453
    @Gaius453 3 года назад +1

    My version of the team:
    Blaziken-Mega @ Blazikenite
    Ability: Blaze
    - Flare Blitz
    - High Jump Kick
    - Swords Dance
    - Earthquake
The starter. Flare Blitz can be swapped for Blaze Kick or Fire Punch if you dont like recoil. High Jump Kick has high damage, but can be replaced for Brick Break if you want a safer move. Bulk Up can be used before you get Swords Dance and use Aerial Ace or Stone Edge before you get Eathquake.
    Gyarados @ Mystic Water
    Ability: Intimidate
    - Waterfall
    - Crunch
    - Earthquake
    - Dragon Dance
This region's best water-type in my opinion. Aqua Tail can be used before you get Waterfall and you can use Gyarados to surf and dive, i just dont like putting HMs in my pokemons. Ice Fang is also an option.
    Gardevoir @ Expert Belt
    Ability: Synchronize
    - Psychic
    - Moonblast
    - Focus Blast
    - Calm Mind
Alakazam and Latios and Latias can be used here too. Psychic and Moonblast for obvious stab, Shadow Ball and Thunderbolt can also be used if you dont like missing. Gardevoir absolutely destroys team aqua and magma, specialy aqua.
    Crobat
    Ability: Inner Focus
    - Acrobatics
    - Cross Poison
    - Steel Wing
    - Fly
probably the best flying type you can get in Hoenn. Flygon and Salamence are great too, but they're kinda late game.
No need to explain this moveset.
    Roserade @ Miracle Seed
    Ability: Natural Cure
    - Giga Drain
    - Sludge Bomb
    - Shadow Ball
    - Grass Whistle
Best grass type in my opinion. Shiny stone can be found just before Lilycove city. Shadow Ball and Grass Whistle can be replaced with pretty much anything you can get. Energy Ball is also an option.
    Magnezone @ Magnet
    Ability: Sturdy
    - Thunderbolt
    - Tri Attack
    - Flash Cannon
    - Volt Switch
Puts Manectric to shame. Can be obtainded just after you get surf and you dont even need to get the key to enter New Mauvile. Thunder Wave is also an option.

    • @Gaius453
      @Gaius453 3 года назад +1

@@west7965 The only other good flying type is Skarmory, and I already have Magnezone for steel type (Swellow isn't that great and Peliper is shit.) Flygon is a good alternative.
Gyarados is imo the best water type in hoenn, specially with physical/special split. Azumarill is great, but i have Gardevoir for fairy. Walrein is great, but it's kinda late game. Sharpedo is probably the best alternative, I just prefer gyarados cause it's early game.
The only other decent grass type in hoenn is Breloom, but it is a fighting type. Cradily is an option, I just think Roserade does the job better.
Edit: I take back everything i said about Swellow being bad. Once you get to mauvile you can buy the tm for Facade and turn your bird into an absolute murder machine with an unending thirst for blood. Simply pre poison or burn your Swellow on a wild pokemon and you will have access to a Pokémon with a stab 140bp move with 100% accuracy and no other drawbacks, plus a 50% boost to your physical attack. You could even slap a Silk Scarf on it if you want to be a little extra. It’s hard to overstate just how broken Guts + STAB Facade is, especially on a fast pokemon like Swellow. I’ve used this thing on multiple playtroughs of Emerald, OR/AS and even some hard hack roms like Inclement Emerald and i can attest that Swellow is the biggest carry you could have. That said, if you don’t want to bother with having to keep your pokemon constantly poisoned you can still just use Crobat, it is still a great addition to any team.

I might swap gardevoir for metagross, since you already have azumarill for fairy coverage and meta brings nice steel coverage. Just my opinion tho

I restarted OmegaRuby the other day to do a wonderlocke run (sans trading my starter), and I've so far ended up with...a couple of the Pokemon on this list. Right now, after finishing the third gym, I have:
    Combusken
Kirlia (I used a Floette before, then it fainted so I boxed it)
Magneton (Modest w/ Analytic can't be beat)
Bagon (I was using Dwebble until it fainted, so I switched to this)
Unfezant (it's turned out to be a GOAT)
Luvdisc (tentative until I get a better water-type)
As for Sceptile, this was what I did in my first run:
    Sceptile
    Manectric
    Glalie
    Azumarill
Metagross (the shiny one from the Mystery Gift)
    Swellow

My team for Omega Ruby was comprised of Blaziken, Aggron, Manectric, Milotic, Froslass, and Salamence.
I consider it a very powerful team overall despite half of it being weak to Ground (but that doesn’t matter when Froslass and Milotic cover Ground and Salamence is immune to it).

This team is meh i think you should replace azumarill with sharpedo if you are going with gardevior, I also think you should replace manectric with magnezone for better coverage and i think for your final pokemon you should have gone with trapinch. flygon is really underestimated

Rainos62 so true this team is trash

    • @Keshav-il2hp
      @Keshav-il2hp 6 лет назад

Well, Sharpedo lacks good stats and Absol is the Dark type and isn’t as good, and manectric can Mega evolve making him more stronger, and viable.

    • @Rainos62
      @Rainos62 6 лет назад +2

yeah but blaziken can mega evolve too and has a much better mega than manectric also, intimidate is not that hard to get, also sharpedo is really good attacking wise 120 atk, 95 special atk and 95 speed is nothing to scoff at with stab aqua jet priority and stab crunch and night slash, along with being able to learn stab surf and ice fang it has better speed than absol it may lose by 10 atk but gains 20 speed and better special which is important which is much better for priority and has more stab moves. Sharpedo may be weaker defensively but its speed makes up for it and good attacking stats make it worth it. It also has 2 stabs rather than absols one. also both manectric and sharpedo can mega evolve but neither will be the mega it will be blaziken.
Also magnezone has sturdy it can learn by tm thunderbolt along with flash cannon better rounded stats and typing to deal bolster those defenses. Then it also has tri attack which has a chance of burning, freezing or paralyzing an an opponent. Magnezone is much better than manectric all around stat wise and has a dual typing for that dual stab

For my in game Blaziken I'm giving him Blaze Kick, High Jump Kick, Stone Edge, and Hone Claws. HJK is twice as strong as Low Sweep, and with hone claws it's over 100% accuracy. Blaze Kick and Stone Edge also become 100%+ but also have high crit, so I'm gonna try to get a razor claw as well. Fire/fighting/rock I believe is more diverse coverage than fire/fighting/ground

I was in the middle of an AS playthrough using Blaziken when I found this. Here's the weird team I'm currently using (I've beaten six of the gym leaders so far):
    Blaziken
    Lombre
    Gardevoir
    Manectric
    Lairon
    Sableye

Question? Why do you choose manetric over Magneton/Magnezone? Wouldn’t that steel typing be more useful?
