    I died when she threw the tops into compost, that’s for stock!

      It probably would have dried and stored easier too.

    If you make pickles, you can add celery leaves in the jars, they give a very nice flavour. Plus you can eat them and they taste gorgeous.

    All the celery leaves are edible and can be dehydrated as well.

    Question…could you have dehydrated the leaves as well for soups and such? I’m thinking compost would be wasting it? Thanks!

      I do not blanch them. I don’t believe it is necessary.

    The tops are wonderful to eat. Seems a waste to put them in the compost

    Dont Throw of the celery leaves ! they're are my favourite part ! Dry them and powder them, mix it with salt and BOOM everyone will ask for the "secret sauce" of your bloody mary!

  • @monicavaccaro8872
    @monicavaccaro8872 Год назад +3

    Why throw away the tops. Cant they too be frozen or made into soup stock and then frozen or dehydrating? It is such a waste, even if the chickens eat them or go to compost.

    • @DesertHavaGarden
      @DesertHavaGarden  Год назад

      You certainly can use the tops In those ways! I had more celery than we could use so sharing with the animals worked for me.
