How to Make Dragonsteel Gear in RLCraft!

- Dragonsteel gear is the most powerful and overpowered gear that exsists in th incredible and dangerous world of RLCraft to this day! Besides maybe gear that was actually broken and has been patched! This new gear will most likely be implemented in RLCraft 2.8.3 because ice and fire and spartan fire are two of a few primary mods that RLCraft likes to build itself around! As of RLCraft 2.8.2 one must update these two mods in order to get this gear, but in the future most likely you will not need to lift a finger! Shivixi, the RLCraft's creator, could potentially do some balance changes before this equipment is added in RLCraft, but regardless, this gear is a step up from dragon armor, and is phenomenally strong and cool looking! At least it is cool looking if you like armor built around a dragonlike aesthetic! I hope this video helps those interested in becoming even stronger in RLCraft! Also, these two updated mods add more than just some new dragonsteel gear, it also adds some cool dread gear as well! I briefly mention the new dread dungeons in the video as well!

I love this video! I've rewatched it over 15 times! Wait so is there lightning dragonsteel and lightning dragonblood once you update the Ice and Fire and Spartan Fire mod?
That stuff is only available in newer versions of Minecraft (1.15 to 1.16) if I remember it correctly, so there is only ice and fire dragons available in 1.12.2 RLCraft sadly, but I think they will allow lightning dragons for RLCraft in RLCraft 2.8.3 I believe
For anyone that wants to keep ice and fire 1.9 and are playing multiplayer and have the unkillable dragons, you will need to delete the iseedragons mod from your modpack as it is the cause for unkillable dragons, once its removed the dragons should be killable again

something that concerns me is that for rlcraft to accept such OP items is that rlcraft itself will need to become even harder for these items to be balanced

@@CasualtyYT RLCraft Hardcore Config exists
@@jjam424 RLCraft hardcore makes some items useless, such as grave scrolls, and events and mob spawns are increased in areas after the player dies, so hardcore is actually easier than normal difficulty, you just have to play slower to succeed 100%, so I don't like it! If you mean, configuring the mods itself to be hardcore, that sounds interesting, and it may be fun to try that!

I mean there is a Hardcore Config that Shivaxi made that's meant to be played in Hardcore with large biomes on. It apparently removes or changes a lot of meta stuff that makes it easy to cheese the early and midgame. It's on the Curse Page for RLCraft.
@@jjam424 already easy to cheese the early game. just build up with dirt block to the top of a battle tower and fish rod the boss and you get diamonds glowing ingots accessories xp tomes and etc

I mean I don't think it needs to be nerfed too much. its super late game as it requires you to have slain tons of dragons and to either have your own or be able to survive getting close enough to trap one. and I've been in one of those frost tombs, they're no joke so you can't just waltz through it for the forget parts.

This tutorial is awesome but it sucks that I can’t figure out how to update the mods using curse forge.
It is basically the same! You click on your RLCraft version (the picture), on the right side you will see three dots, click the three dots and go to profile options, make sure that you have the box checked this time to "allow content management for this profile" and then click on the tab next to the overview tab that is labled "Installed mods", scroll down that tab page, and update the spartan fire and ice and fire mods the same way as you would have with the twitch launcher! @@Proxysweden You can, but some things may potentially get glitchy (like some dragons who were loaded in already have a chance to be invincible) but besides those few bugs things should be ok. I would stil recommend making a new world though when you update! If you want, you can do what I did, and just download a second copy of rlcraft, one with updated ice and fire and one without, and you can decide on what version you want to play (default or updated) depending on your mood that specific day
There is no update button next to "Spartan and Fire: RLCraft Edition" what do I do

i watched the video then immediately started killing dragons that were around my base when i spawned then trapped a dragon (with dragons eye this was way too easy) and i now have 3 fire dragonsteel and i started around 8pm and it it 12:34 the next day and i got the forge and everything, i killed 16 dragons in total and trapped one, overall a great succes!
i now have a room filled with skulls.......

welp I made the core but had no idea how to use it so i watched ur vid and now i need like 6 more dragons worth of scales :( plus the one that needs to be captured ... welp hear we go. and is their any to get more scales out of a dragon? i usually only get like 20-40.
It depends on luck and the size of the dragon! Sometimes getting some dragon blood, and then getting the scales will allow you to get more resources, but in truth, you just got to just keep killing them and exploring! Every dragon dead is another area made safe!
If you’re making an ice dragon steel set, then you can get tier 5 ice dragons than finding tier 3 ice drags and you get more scales. I use the Lycanite weapon with a geonach spear on it and mine at y-35 near ice villages in ice plains or glaciers. A good mod to help find lairs is Xaeros minimap 1.15.8 forge 1.12. It shows the underground map and shows a huge circle if a dragon lair is near. Happy hunting!

Yep! Just make a reforging table and use dragonsteel ingots as a material to reroll the armor!
I guess now the strongest weapon is either of the dragonsteel rapiers.

how can i get into the place i killed some of the dreads but they didn’t drop it and i heard u can use ice dragons breath to turn the blocks into ice but that isn’t working can someone help me?
It is a pain in the butt to be honest, but you do indeed need to wait like a real time hour or so at least. You need to just explore around the structure and underground within 100 blocks for a while before a dread witch key master spawns, and he will drop a black key upon being defeated. You then will right click the dungeon door at the keyhole to enter

Has anyone else ran into the issue with dragons being invincible on servers? I am running an rlcraft server and thought about manually updating to this but i dont want to if it makes dragons unkillable since we do a lot of dragon hunting. Feedback would be amazing!
Yeah, sadly that is a pretty common glitch that happens when you update the mods. Basically all dragons that were already loaded into your world will be invincible when you update the mods, it has something to do with changing dragons stat values or something! If you do update ice and fire: dragons and spartan fire, you should start a new world, or there may be some bugs! If you already have an amazing pre-existing world, you can download a new version of rlcraft and just update the mods on that version and try it out seperately without potentially causing problems on your already established world! The dragon invincibility glitch is very common! New dragons you load in should be fine, but the ones that already existed before you updated the mods will have a high chance of it happening to them

i updated my server to iceandfire1.9.1 and spartan fire 0.08 and its true that i cant kill the dragons. help :(
@@bunnny1 Sadly all you can do is make a new world or ignore the dragons in the already loaded chunks. I also ran into the same problem. It is a shame, but starting over isn't all that bad. If it is a super detailed world that you will be losing, you can always transfer that save file to a default version of rlcraft (download another copy of rlcraft and use that one as vanilla and one with the updated mods [that is what i do at least]).
@@bunnny1 I think casualty's comment on it occuring on preloaded dragons makes a lot of sense, since it's looks like their flight animation and tons of stuff changed. So you could make a new server and transfer all your player data files so you don't have to start over completely maybe?

The normal version is good enough! RLCraft is amazing as is! After playing rlcraft normally for a while, than you can update those two mods if you want a few more things to do and go for, but it is not necessary for a good time!

How strong is the gear in fact, though? For example, with no enchantments whatsoever, is it already enough for me to fight a Tier 5 dragon and win?
Without enchantments, it is indeed strong enough for you do beat a tier 5 dragon and win, as long as you are doing damage to the dragon in the process of course

Yeah, sadly dragonsteel isn't very easy to get in 2.9 rlcraft. I have heard of a way or two that involves some knowledge of mod files, but I myself haven't looked into it since it involves changing rlcraft a decent bit (unlike in 2.8 rlcraft and prior when it was simple, easy, and didn't change much gameplay wise)

You can go on past versions and update the mods. I am not sure what would happen since I have never tried, but in theory it should be fine

Is dragon steel even worth it when my golem armor has adv prof 4 already and my ice dragon rapier deletes tier 5 dragons in like 1-2 seconds
xD Golem armor unenchanted does not have advanced protection 4, it is just like unenchanted dragon armor but a bit more durable, it's not that amazing! You certainly do not really need more than even diamond armor in the game if you use certain enchantments though, dragonsteel is just fun and stronger than golem, but takes a lot of grinding to get
@@CasualtyYT Thanks! Btw will the Dragonsteel make me sink like the golem armor? If not I might switch and just grind back all the previous enchant on my golem and add them in the Dragonsteel set. I always have a problem with getting out of water with my golem set.

Yeah, it is better to make a new world to be safe if you don't want any complications. If you copy your world over tho with no risk of losing your original on the old version, than I see no harm in trying, but depending on the world, things may not work properly, or at all since so much has been changed. In terms of dragonsteel in 2.9, I haven't tried it myself, but many people have told me that it indeed works and you can get dragonsteel in the game fine, but you have to manually add the mods, it seems updating them via curseforge doesn't always work

I know I am late to this video but I would love if someone helped me, I am using TLauncher and used the same way, I made backups for the old version of Spartan Fire and Ice and Fire, I replaced it with the new ones but when launching rlcraft on tlauncher it still doesn’t work, I would love some feedback!
Does updating Ice and Fire make it harder to survive though?
I would say it makes it harder to survive in early game since dragons agro you from much further away and chase you relentlessly, but in end game it gets much easier, as dragons suiciding into your gear is ridiculous and dragonsteel gear is a little too powerful.

Okay so I updated the mods the way you did but then when I opened the game and went to play on my existing singleplayer world, it said that there were 2 ice&fire entities missing and that if I continued they would be deleted. Pls help
That just means that you have some loaded in old monsters that will disapear when you update the ice and fire mods! For example, if there was a dragon right outside your base or nearby, it will be deleted, because the new updated ice and fire dragons, are completely different mobs. I would recomend starting a new save or playthrough, because playing on your old world could cause problems in the same way, as if you were to try to play a vanilla save file on an RLcraft save file. Some things will conflict. If you do play your old save anyways though, you should be fine, but those old dragons that were loaded in, will be gone. You will only find dragons in chunks that you have not loaded yet. I am sorry that I couldn't fix your problem, but at least you understand what the problem is now! Just start a new world, or accept that on all chunks you have loaded, there will be no dragons! There will only be dragons in the new chunks you load!
@@CasualtyYT Thank you for the info! I went ahead and loaded it anyways because it said there would be a backup made in my savedgames directory. Luckily I'm still early on in my playthrough and have only encountered a few dragons. If that is the only change and things will work normally when I encounter new dragons then I'm happy to continue playing on my current game. Thanks again!!

@@owynwithawhy1768 That is very strange! You can try moving the enchantment table or using a new one! I have no idea why that bug is happening, but I don't think that the updated mods caused the issue! You may also have been just getting unlucky a few times with the enchants, and the good ones will show up soon again! Just keep resetting them and trying! Also, make sure the bookshelves are only 1 block away from the enchantment table! You already knew that though, I assume

Once I trap a dragon, does it ever despawn or get killed by other mobs?
It potentially can get killed by other mobs, yes! The fire it uses on the surroundings will spawn fire elementals, that the dragon will fight! From my experience though, they spawn not very often, and the dragon usually makes short work of them! The first fire dragon I trapped is at 60% hp and it has made stacks of firesteel ingots and is still going strong!

if you haven't figured out yet if you are using curseforge go into the instances, RLCraft folder mods and replace the ice and fire mod and spartan and fire mod by deleting the files there and adding new ones from www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/spartan-and-fire and www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/ice-and-fire-dragons with ice and fire go into files and choose the top 1.12.2 version, with twitch launcher he shows you how to do it at 0:23, hope this helps of you want it!

Why did you need to trap or have a dragon
Because the dragon will need to blow on your dragon forge to form dragonsteel ingots, and if it is not trapped or tamed, it will just fly away or leave to do its own thing etc!
Is it the Same way for Cursed forge Launcher?
Yeah, it is pretty much the exact same, just make sure you allow content management for the profile in profile options and then you can go to the installed mods tab and update things as you please
