Thanks, I appreciate it. I love this platform and it is definitely a great tournament kayak. It gives you plenty of area to work with. I hopes yours turns out great!
Nice setup man. I love my feel free. Sucks they don't get as much love as other brands, but maybe that's a good thing. Look forward to seeing more videos.
Thank you, yeah over the years I've heard people act like they aren't that great. I've owned five FeelFree kayaks and several other brands, but I ultimately went back to FeelFree. I love them.
Thank you for the detailed build. I just acquired the exact same kayak as you by chance and then found your video. Giving me some great ideas for sure.
That's awesome, I appreciate it. Let me know if you have any questions. It's a great platform and you can do all kinds of stuff to it. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
I’m ordering a few of the things you’ve mentioned. I have one question, on the ketch board mounts, there is 3 options, one is for the crate, one is for the hobie yaks, and the last is for 90 degree rails, I’m guessing you used the one for the 90 degree rails, correct?
@@easttnspeed9657 awesome, thanks for taking the time to view it. Anytime you have any questions or need anything just send a message. I love making these videos...I'm just trying to be helpful not really here to make money or throw stuff I don't care about out there. Thanks again.
Really like the way you rigged your kayak. Can you tell me do you bring fish on the port side and dose the Garmin interfere with that. My new lure has the overdrive and I am looking where to place my fish finder. I still like to use my paddle now and then. So I don’t care to have it in that zone. Again I like the way you have yours set up.
I really appreciate it. I normally tend to land all my fish on port. I do that because I normally angle my kayak toward the bank on that side. The Garmin can get in the way some but I've gotten used to it. I've since moved back to the 11.5 and I have my 9 inch Garmin in the center and Bixpy on my rudder. I still land my fish on the left side and it seems to work out well. I believe I've moved my units around all over the place, but the center has been great. I'm slowly working on a Unibar type setup in front of my pod.
I was just wondering how much you weigh in with your boat weight and all the gear what is your top speed using with the Bixpy..? And on your new feelfree lure 10 V2 midnight bolt are you running 2 Bixpys motors?
It's all good. I am about 185 and I am not sure of all of the gear. If I were to guess, it is probably another 50lbs at the most. I can normally get about 3.5mph on the different FF kayaks I have had in the past. The Midnight bolt one is a 11.5. I love my Lure 10, but for standing I just felt that the 11.5 provided more room for me to get around. A little more storage space as well. I am only running one Bixpy on it as tournaments only allow one right now. I do have the bigger Pro battery from Bixpy that will go under my seat when it is in the high position.
hey bro sick set up! could i ask how you connected the bixpy battery to the yak power?? like what type of wiring and connectors does that take to make that connection?
I've been following your channel for about 6 months now and when you posted that short video of your new feelfree lure 11.5 midnight bolt color it sold me.. I initially wanted to buy feelfree lure 11.5 but I saw that the 13.5 was the same price so I found a new 13.5 midnight bolt end up driving two and a half hours one way and bought it.. I'm going to buy a Newport NK300 for my 13.5 I need your help I'm on the fence with this decision.. What steering do you prefer? The foot pedals or the eight ball steering..? Thank you in advance ✌️
Oh that sounds awesome. I love the Midnight Bolt color. I still have my 11.5 and I am still rigging it up. Personally, I feel that the NK300 is going to have a lot more torque than other motors on the market and I will always say that foot steering is better in that case. I have used my Bixpy motor on a lot of different kayaks and I always tend to prefer the foot steering over the hand steering especially when fishing in the river.
Thank you, I appreciate it. I need to try this setup on the water and I'll get exact numbers, but my Lure 11.5 would get about 3.7 MPH at top speed. The Bixpy motor won't be the fastest on the water, but it is the lightest and the easiest to take on and off. That is really what sold me on it. I'll upload an on the water video soon. Thanks.
I got it from OneObjectice but you can buy it a lot of different places. Take a look in the description and the link is there. Let me know if you need me to post it.
I haven't had a ton of time with the J2 like I have the J1 but you should be able to get that at half speed. When I fish tournaments, I hop from spot to spot at full speed and my battery lasts a full 8 hours of fishing. The J2 gives you two lower speeds and it comes with a bigger battery. You should be able to fish for a while trolling at those speeds. If I can get out soon I'll let you know.
It really depends on the speeds you run. If you run at full speed it'll only last about 1.5 to 2ish hours. When I am fishing a tournament I usually run full speed to my spot and run half speeds or lower speeds when moving short distances. I use the paddle as well. Usually, I can fish an entire 8 hour tournament. I have run out of battery before when running full speed more often. If I know I am going a longer distance I bring a second battery. The PP-378 that comes with the new J2 motors last longer as well.
Dude, this is so sick. Great job. I have a feel free lure tandem and this has inspired me to mod it!
Thanks, I appreciate it. I love this platform and it is definitely a great tournament kayak. It gives you plenty of area to work with. I hopes yours turns out great!
Nice set up man, this video just helped me make my mind up on what kayak to go with 👍👍

Dude nice setup... I have the Molken V2 10.6 love it so far
Thanks, I appreciate it. I really like the Moken series. I'll be getting the 10 probably during the fall. It's a great compact platform.
What kind of paddle do you use?
I use an Aquabound Carbon Paddle.
@@jonping8 thanks for the reply. Could I ask which size? your kayak is awesome. I just ordered the lure 10.
@@timu8235 no problem at all. I appreciate it. It's the Manta Ray Hybrid and it's the 250cm size.

How does the Bixby j2 motor perform. I troll for stripers at 1.8 to 2
0mph . Do u know how long I could go. I have the same kayak

If I wanted to call you about a kayak set up is it ok to call you?
I'm sorry, I thought that I had already responded to this. I know that it was been a year, but I am open to any questions.
How much time do you get with one charge battery?

Just to clarify. the v2 comes standard with the high seat back correct?
Yes it should.
I didn't realize this and purchased the upgraded backrest. Now I have two lol.

I like how you say thats a simple setup, looks complicated to me but i know nothing about a kayak.
LOL, I can completely see what you are saying. I guess maybe not so simple, but well laid out is what I should have said.
too much crap on kayak. I have the same boat. I use a ultralight rod and few soft plastic lures.
That's cool, I'm glad that works for you.
Quit smacking your lips
Haha, you noticed. 👍
